  If you've ever used Reflector, you probably noticed that the C# compiler generates types, methods, fields, and local variables, that deserve 'special' display by the debugger. For instance, local variables beginning with 'CS$' are not displayed to the user. There are other special naming conventions for closure types of anonymous methods, backing fields of automatic properties, and so on. My question: where to learn about these naming conventions? Does anyone know about some documentation? My objective is to make PostSharp 2.0 use the same conventions. Thank you!

I want to make a form - a set of questions with different answer types: some questions have a number of answers and you can check one of the answers using radiobutton, other questions you should answer using a textbox, some answers have a datetime type and you choose answer for them using a DatePicker and so on. I get all information about the questions and answer types from a WCF service. I want to make this form using making a dynamic xaml but i've naver made dynamic xaml and I don't know exactly how to make it.   Hi all, I have a table from which i need to get the count grouped on two columns. the table has two columns one datetime column and another one is success value(-1,1,0) What i am looking for is something like this... count of success value for each month month----success-----count 11------- -1 ------- 50 11------- 1 --------- 50 11------- 0 ------- 50 12------- -1 ------- 50 12------- 1 ------- 50 12------- 0 ------- 50 if there is no success value for a month then the count should be null or zero. • Best way to model map values in Grails?

  Hi guys, I have to implement map values in my Grails app. I have a class that can contain 0..N OsmTags, and the key is unique. In Java I would model this with a Map in each object, but I don't know how to map classes in Grails. So I defined this class: class OsmTag { /** OSM tag name, e.g. natural */ String key /** OSM tag value, e.g. park */ String value static constraints = { key blank:false, size:2..80,matches:/[\S]+/, unique:false value blank:false, size:1..250,matches:/[\S]+/, unique:false } } That works ok, but it's actually quite ugly because the tag key is not unique.   Hi, I'm using Visual Studio 2008 with the Boost v1.42.0 library. If I use an enum as the template argument, I get a compile error when adding a value using push_back(). The compiler error is: 'T': is not a legal base class and the location of the error is move.hpp line 79. #include <boost/interprocess/containers/vector.hpp> class Test { public: enum Types { Unknown = 0, First = 1, Second = 2, Third = 3 }; typedef boost::container::vector<Types> TypesVector; }; int main() { Test::TypesVector o; o.push_back(Test::First); return 0; } If I use a std::vector instead it works. And if I resize the Boost version first and then set the values using the [] operator it also works. Is there some way to make this work using push_back()?

• Using perl's Regexp::Grammars, how do I make a capture dependent on $MATCH?

  I've got a token like such: <delim2=((?{ $MATCH{delim} }))> and what I want to happen is for delim2 to capture and be set to the value of delim. When I run this, delim2 is set, but the capture is never done. I think this is an error in my reasoning: I'm trying to chain this form: <ALIAS= ( PATTERN )> Match pattern, save match in $MATCH{ALIAS} and this form: (?{ MATCH{delim} }) into something like this <ALIAS= ( (?{MATCH{delim}) )> Matches the value of $MATCH{delim} save to $MATCH{delim2} but this simply doesn't seem valid. I can verify my original token works <delim2=((?{ die $MATCH{delim} }))> will die with the value, and, if I hard code it, I get the right capture and everything works <delim2=(')>? So how do I go about achieving sane results, while having a dynamic pattern?

• Converting LDAP from Tomcat to GlassFish

  Hi, I have a simple web-app that is developed in Netbeans(6.8) and works fine in Tomcat(6) using LDAP(Active Directory). I need to convert this to an EE (JSF2), so I am moving from Tomcat to GlassFish(v3). I have changed the web files to xhtml and configured the xml files. However, I cannot get the GlassFish LDAP configuration to authenticate. I am attaching my old web.xml and server.xml (from Tomcat) snippets and the portions of the new web.xml, sun-web.xml, and the GlassFish configuration. If anyone can help me figure out where I am missing the piece that will allow a user to be authenticated, I would appreciate it. (btw, I am not using roles, just authenticating against the LDAP db is good enought.) As it is right now, my app will prompt me to enter a user when I try to access a file in the 'protected' area and the GlassFish server throws an exception when it fails to authenticate. Because it works under Tomcat, I know I have the right information, I just don't know how to format it to get GlassFish to pass it along. Thanks. • 'Out of Memory exception' in sql server 2005 xml column

  Hi All, I am devloping a windows forms application and am using sql server 2005 database as my backend. I am having an xml column in my database. I am using ultrawingrid control in my application.I obtain the xml of the dataset which is bound to my ultrawingrid control and pass that as a parameter value to the stored procedure where am inserting this value into the xml column which I specified. The columns in my grid are dynamic and hence there can be any no of columns in my grid. I got 'out of memory' exception in the dataset.GetXml() statement since there were more no of columns I believe.So, what I did is that I used dataset.WriteXml() method and stored all the xml contents into an xml file, loaded the xml file into the XmlDocument object and then passed the xmlnodereader as the value to the stored procedure parameter.Now, while executing the stored procedure am getting the same 'out of memory' exception. How could I resolve this issue?

• Why does Color.IsNamedColor not work when I create a color using Color.FromArgb()?

  In my app I allow the user to build a color, and then show him the name or value of the color later on. If the user picks red (full red, not red-ish), I want to show him "red". If he picks some strange color, then the hex value would be just fine. Here's sample code that demonstrates the problem: static string GetName(int r, int g, int b) { Color c = Color.FromArgb(r, g, b); // Note that specifying a = 255 doesn't make a difference if (c.IsNamedColor) { return c.Name; } else { // return hex value } } Even with very obvious colors like red IsNamedColor never returns true. Looking at the ARGB values for my color and Color.Red, I see no difference. However, calling Color.Red.GetHashCode() returns a different hash code than Color.FromArgb(255, 0, 0).GetHashCode(). How can I create a color using user specified RGB values and have the Name property come out right?

• Can Symfony simply reload a page request?

  I have an app that receives a request from another app. It detects a value on the query string, checks that value against a cached value and, if they don't match, it needs to clear its cache and reload the page (establishing a new cache). Unfortunately, I can't find a way to tell Symfony to redirect to the current page in exactly the same format (protocol, URI path, query string, etc.). What am I missing? This is all happening in a filter on isFirstCall(). Thanks.

• Why does MySQL autoincrement increase on failed inserts?

  A co-worker just made me aware of a very strange MySQL behavior. Assuming you have a table with an auto_increment field and another field that is set to unique (e.g. a username-field). When trying to insert a row with a username thats already in the table the insert fails, as expected. Yet the auto_increment value is increased as can be seen when you insert a valid new entry after several failed attempts. For example, when our last entry looks like this... ID: 10 Username: myname ...and we try five new entries with the same username value on our next insert we will have created a new row like so: ID: 16 Username: mynewname While this is not a big problem in itself it seems like a very silly attack vector to kill a table by flooding it with failed insert requests, as the MySQL Reference Manual states: "The behavior of the auto-increment mechanism is not defined if [...] the value becomes bigger than the maximum integer that can be stored in the specified integer type." Is this expected behavior?

Before calculation takes place: Make sure all three select values are changed before function(F) takes place. If not prompt the user with a notice ( create dom element/ I am using jquery) b. After the value R is calculated show an element corresponding to the result e.g. if R is 1 show an element ( a predetermined "link" element corresponding to each result value) thanks a lot.

• What is the cost in bytes for the overhead of a sql_variant column in SQL Server?

  I have a table, which contains many columns of float data type with 15 digit precision. Each column consumes 8 bytes of storage. Most of the time the data does not require this amount of precision and could be stored as a real data type. In many cases the value can be 0, in which case I could get away with storing a single byte. My goal here is to optimize space storage requirements, which is an issue I am facing working with a SQL Express 4GB database size limit. If byte, real and float data types are stored in a sql_variant column there is obviously some overhead involved in storing these values. What is the cost of this overhead? I would then need to evaluate whether I would actually end up in significant space savings (or not) switching to using sql_variant column data types. Thanks, Elan

  Imagine a "search box" on the right top side of the UI Windows Application. When user types a desired action, a matching functionality is executed. Screen gets opened, or action gets performed. For example: user types "create" and intellisence offered next word options "client"/"product", user picks "client", and "Create New Client" screen opens up. So what I am looking for if there is a framework support for this. I assume that framework shall bind together text commands names, commands and show in intellisense. Same framework possibly could have been used in alternative "Command Line interface". I recall Microsoft had some recent framework that helps to setup "command Line Interface" environmental. It is hard to search on web for this keywords, so relying on intelligent help from you guys. Thanks in advance.

• Issue on passing a checkbox set to an AppEngine script through jQuery Ajax/Json

  I have a set of checkboxes with multiple choice allowed. However, the Python script just bugs. If i change dataTrap.route_days value to a string instead of the JSON encoded object, everything works fine. My question is: how can i pass a checkbox set to the script using Ajax and still be able to iterate over it on the script?

  I have a ComboBox that uses a DataTemplate. The DataTemplate contains a binding which uses an IValueConverter to convert an enumerated value into a string. The problem is that the value converter is never invoked. • Change Logon DPI setting in Windows 8.1

  I love how M$ keeps making decisions for me about how I want my desktop to look. Now they have added per-user dpi settings. The problem this has created is that there is no adjustable dpi setting for the Lock/Logon screen. Let me explain. you can change the dpi setting to be the same across all displays and this does affect the icons and font on the lock/logon screen. However it does not affect any app/program that can run on the lock/logon screen. Ex. I use a 44" flat screen tv for my monitor on my desktop. Big enough for me to sit in my recliner and use my comp. But I don't have a wireless keyboard. And it sucks having the wire from the keyboard running across the floor. Plus I really don't want to keep a keyboard next to me. So I use the on screen keyboard for logging in and quick typing (search, web address, etc.) So the problem is that with the new dpi setup my on screen keyboard takes up nearly half the screen. Does M$ think we are all blind? Oh no I remember they think desktops should look like tablets and phones. I tried looking through the registry to see if I could find a setting for it. In the key HKEY_USERS.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop there is a string value named "LogicalDPIOverride" with a value of -1. I have a feeling this is where I can fix the issue. I tried changing the value to 0 and to 1 with no change in the result. Instead I noticed that after logging out and back in the -1 value was back in the registry. So now M$ has also added a way for us to not be able to change a setting in the registry. They are making it harder and harder for us power users to be able to do anything with the settings in windows. Soon we will all have the same exact Windows with absolutely no customization. ok sorry for the quick rant. The real question here is. How can I change this defualt dpi crap? Can I use the LogPixels string that worked for dpi in Windows 7? • Determine if on product page programmatically in Magento

  I want to insert tracking codes on all of the pages of a Magento site, and need to use a different syntax if the page is a CMS page, a category browsing page, or a product view page. I have a custom module set up with a block that inserts a generic tracking code on each page for now. From within the block, how can I distinguish between CMS pages, category pages, and product pages? I started with: Mage::app()->getRequest(); I can see that Mage::app()->getRequest()->getParam('id'); returns the product or category ID on product and category pages, but doesn't distinguish between those page types. Mage::app()->getRequest()->getRouteName(); return "cms" for CMS pages, but returns "catalog" for both category browsing and product view pages, so I can't use that to tell category and product pages apart. Is there some indicator in the request I can use safely? Or is there a better way to accomplish my goal of different tracking codes for different page types?

Let's say Entity looks like this: public class Entity<TId> { //... } and Association looks like this: public class Association<TEntity, TEntity2> { //... } How do I constrain Association so they can be of any Entity? I can accomplish it by the following: public class Association<TEntity, TId, TEntity2, TId2> where TEntity : Entity<TId> where TEntity2: Entity<TId2> { //... } This gets very tedious as more types derive from Association, because I have to keep passing down TId and TId2. Is there a simpler way to do this, besides just removing the constraint?
