• Is my program taking too much time to execute?

  I wanted to solve a question from project euleur about finding the largest prime number of a big number. I run my code on a virtual machine on Visual studio 2012, and the code seems froze. When I step into the loop, the code works well, but when I execute it, the console is always there. It is as if the program is still running. Could it be that the program takes time to execute? • has anyone tried designing a webpage for psp?

  erm im trying to make a personal bible for my psp (i tried googling but the only bible version i've seen on my skimming is on KJV and im trying to make mine have 3 versions namely TNIV, NLT and Amplified Bible) so my only solution was to make on for myself and my approach was to save an html file on my mem-stick and open it up through the console's browser my concerns are: 1. how does the psp browser handle css and javascript? 2. is there a doctype declaration specifically designed for the psp browser? 3. can i use any local database to store my texts for easier query or do i have no choice but rely on static text files? 4. is there anyone in SO who have experienced developing a page for this console and can he/she give me some tips and advice? thanks much in advance for your responses.. :)

  I narrowed the causes of an AS3 compiler error 1119 down to code that looks similar to this: var test_inst:Number = 2.953; trace(test_inst); trace(test_inst.constructor); I get the error "1119: Access of possibly undefined property constructor through a reference with static type Number." Now if I omit the variable's type, I don't get that error: var test_inst = 2.953; trace(test_inst); trace(test_inst.constructor); it produces the expected output: 2.953 [class Number] So what's the deal? I like explicitly typing variables, so is there any way to solve this error other than not providing the variable's type?

  Hello, I am searching for a rails-based CMS that provide rich text editing feature (e.g. I need an interface very similar to that of Wordpress where you can easily style up your static pages and upload pictures without knowing any css or html) AND easy to be dropped into an existing rails application. Camtose, RadiantCMS and few other ones did not seem to offer the rich interface I was looking for. RefineryCMS had conflict with my existing user authentication and I did not really find a solution to it. I am just wondering if there are any rails based cms that can meet my needs. Please advise if you know of any such rails-based CMS. Thank you for your help!

  Hello, I'm working on a project that requires the ability to let a user download a pdf from a static location on the server. I'm reading the instructions from this website, it's an old post and I notice they specify in an update that Microsoft's MVC framework has long since included and Action Result that allows the same functionality they discuss thus rendering it obsolete, I've looked a bit online but haven't been able to find any resources that discuss this built-in functionality.   Obviously there is no public GUID.TryParse() in .NET CLR 2.0. So, I was looking into regular expressions [aka googling around to find one] and each time I found one there was a heated argument in the comments section about RegEx A doesn't work, use RegEx B. Then someone would write Regex C yadda yadda So anyway, What I decided to do was this, but I feel bad about it. public static bool IsGuid (string possibleGuid) { try { Guid gid = new Guid(possibleGuid); return true; } catch (Exception ex) { return false; } } Obviously I don't really like this since it's been drilled into me since day one to avoid throwing exceptions if you can defensibly code around it.   Am writing unit test for a multi-threading application, where I need to wait until a specific event triggered so that I know the asyn operation is done. E.g. When I call repository.add(something), I wait for event AfterChange before doing any assertion.   There are many open-source libraries that can be compiled with Visual Studio. I'm porting a program from Linux to Windows, but it depends on a number of libraries. I don't know what the best practices regarding libraries are on Windows. On Linux, these libraries are typically part of the distribution. To use sqlite on Debian, for example, you need only to install libsqlite3-dev and the include files and libraries (both static and dynamic) are automatically installed and available to your program. If you need a different version than your distribution supplies, you can compile it in your home directory, install it to ~/include and ~/lib, and set the appropriate environment variables so that your compiler includes those directories in its search path. What is the best way to use libraries that are distributed as source on Windows? If I link dynamically rather than statically, is there an easy way to copy required DLLs into the output directory to ease redistribution (assuming license requirements are met)?

• How to sort an NSMutableArray of objects by a member of its class, that is an int or float

  I have a class (from NSObject) that contains: NSString name int position float speed I then create an array (NSMutableArray) of objects from this class. I would like to then sort the array by the 'speed' value, which is a float. I initially has the float value as an NSNumber and the int as NSInteger, and I was successfully sorting with: [myMutableArray sortUsingFunction:compareSelector context:@selector(position)]; where myMutableArray is my array of objects. here is the function: static int compareSelector(id p1, id p2, void *context) { SEL methodSelector = (SEL)context; id value1 = [p1 performSelector:methodSelector]; id value2 = [p2 performSelector:methodSelector]; return [value1 compare:value2]; } Now that I am using int instead of NSInteger, the above code does not work. However, I am unable to find out how to set up routing in such a way that server ignores routing for images, css and scripts so it will be read as http://address/css/text.css instead of http://address/article/1212/some-text/css/text.css The only way I can make this work if I put tag into but I am sure it can be done other way.   Hello, I have a list that's going to be updated with relatively static data weekly, and I wanted to create a workflow to do this automatically. The only field I'm having trouble with is Start Date. I want the new Start Date to be exactly one week after the previous week's (row's) Start Date, but I can't figure out how to capture this. I can't seem to find an easy way to get the value of the previous row. Now, theoretically, I could just have the workflow run once a week on a given day and use [Today] as the value for the field; however, a requirement is that the list can be populated a few weeks in advance if needed. • wrong font in a RichTextBox importing from .rtf

  Hi all, I'm developing a microsoft surface application using expression blend+vs 2008. I have a RichTextBox that loads formatted text from an .rtf file. The text is formatted with uppecases, color, and specific font (helvetica-neue).
