• Delphi - How can I prevent the main form capturing keystrokes in a TMemo on another non-modal form?

  I have an app that opens a non-modal form from the main form. The non-modal form has a TMemo on it. The main form menu uses "space" as one of its accelerator characters. When the non-modal form is open and the memo has focus, every time I try to enter a space into the memo on the non-modal form, the main form event for the "space" shortcut fires! I have tried turning MainForm.KeyPreview := false while the other form is open but no dice. Any ideas? TIA

  I have this sample code: $myTrigger .click(function(e){ alert('click'); }) .focus(function(e){ alert('focus'); $(this).click() }) The intent is that I want something to happen when you click on $myTrigger. If, on the other hand, you tab onto it via the keyboard (ie, focus) I want the exact same thing to happen, so I ask it to click. The catch is if I click on it, it also focuses. So both alerts are going off. Is there a way to prevent the focus event from going off when clicking?

  I am trying to add another subview programmatically based on some event (user taps a button, for instance). My problem is that I am having problems referencing the (one and only) instance of UIWindow. I reach it from my appDelegate, because the MainWindow.xib and the appDelegate have been wired up. But I cannot reach the UIWIndow from anywhere else (I cannot draw that connection in IB, can I?) What techniwue is preferred to get a reference to (the one and only) UIWindow? ...so that I in turn can use the following code from my various UIViewControllers: [myOneAndOnlyWindow addSubview:oneOfManyViews.view]; [myOneAndOnlyWindow makeKeyAndVisible];

• Problem with keyPress in Mozilla

  I am usingtextarea to get some inputs. A label shows the updated chars left. It works fine in IE, but in FF 3.0, after reaching the max limit, it doesn't allow to delete or backspace key. The problem arises in FF, when the inputs reach the max limit, the message is displayed, but it doesn't allow to delete or backspace.

And there are two ways that I should response in an event of logging failure, server redirect to the login page using header(url). • Run a function when a DOM element is created

  Hi folks, I want to bind an event to a certain class and ID for when matching objects are created in the DOM. I am doing this as I have some jQuery code in an ASP UpdatePanel, which causes the DOM to be re-loaded on its partial postback. I have reset the events with live(), however I need to call a 2 line initialisation function as soon as the elements are created. Is there any way to attach this to live(), or some other jQuery function, or will I have to write code to do this myself? Thanks, Ed

  I am trying to implement a multi-tenant application, that is - data of all clients in a single database - each shared table has a tenant_id field to separate data I wish to achieve data separation by adding where('tenant_id = ', $user->getTenantID()) {pseudoc-code} to all SELECT queries I could not find any solution up-front, but here are possible approaches I am considering. 1) crude approach: customizing all fetchAll and fetchOne functions in every class (I will go mad!) 2) using listeners: possibly coding for the preDqlSelect event and adding the 'where' to all queries 3) override buildQuery(): could not find an example of this for front-end 4) implement contentformfilter: again need a pointer Would appreciate if someone could validate these & comment on efficieny, suitability.   I'm trying to figure out why this is a problem when using jQuery 1.4.2 and not 1.3.2.   Hello, I have a link inside a label. The problem is, when user clicks 'back' after having read the terms, the checkbox is unchecked, because when they clicked on the link they also unchecked the box at the same time, since the link is inside a label. <input type="checkbox" id="terms" name="terms" checked="checked" /> <label for="terms">I agree to be bound by the <a href="/terms">Terms</a></label> How can I prevent the checkbox from being checked when link is clicked? Tried doing event.preventDefault() on label click, but that doesn't prevent checkbox from being checked/unchecked. I could just take out the link from inside a label (which means more CSS styling). But now I'm curious whether the above is possible.

• How to use a CTabCtrl in a MFC dialog based application ?

  I need to do something which i expected to be was simple - create a tab control which has 2 tabs, implying 2 modes of operation for my app. When user clicks on Tab1, he'll be presented with some buttons and textboxes, and when he clicks Tab2, some other input method. I noticed that there was a CTabCtrl class thats used in MFC to add tabs. However, once I added the tab ctrl using the UI designer, I couldn't specify how many tabs there'll be using property window. Searching on the net, I found some examples but all of them required you to derive from CtabCtrl , create 2 or more child dialogs etc and to write your own custom class. My question is, since I want to do something so basic, why couldn't I do it using the familiar Add Event handler/Add member variable wizard and then handle everything else inside my app's class ? Surely, the default CTabCtrl class can do something useful without needing to derive from it ?

  I have a mediaOutput tag which, in its createContent attribute, requires the backing bean to be in a certain state. A list of values, which is filled in an init method, must be available. I therefore added a keepAlive tag for the whole backing bean. I now indeed see the backingBean in stead of some (richfaces) proxy bean, but the filled list is null again. How to make this possible?   I am working on expansion of my jQuery plug-in authoring knowledge, just playing around with my own ideas for learning benefits. So i was wondering how you guys tackle the need of plugin executing without any user specific input. So I have a need for plug-in that executes right away after document is ready, without any user's specific input just as long as doc is loaded, so the only way I see how to execute plug-in on it's own is to attach handler to ready listener that executes my function which I extended the jQuery with. And because this needs to be self enclosed, part of the code, I attach handler to event listener within the function. So how else could one tackle this? Any take at this is appreciated. I mean without selecting one of the choices(Open, Save, Cancel) I can't do anything on the page (which is normal). What I need is if javascript can check whether the page is locked or not.   Assume that I only have a country code (en, de, fr) and I need to display the weekdays in this language. I know about RegionInfo and CultureInfo - but I can't find a solution. If I create a country info from (for an example) "en" I have no DateTime info in it. It would also be OK to just take the first matching Region. For an example en-US for en or de-DE for de. I don't know if there are differences in DayNames but I know there are some for the months. de-DE Februar - de-AT Feber -- anyhow I don't care. Event if it may be "a bit different" (to see Februar instead of Feber) - it is still German. And that's what I want to achive - get en an write Monday - get de and write Montag... Is there a way to create a region just from a language code?

  I have multiple business entities in VB.NET Windows Forms application. Right now they are instanced on application startup and used when needed. They hold descriptions of business entities and methods for storing and retrieving data. To cut the long story short, they are somewhat heavy objects to construct (they have some internal dictionaries and references to other objects) created and held in one big global variable called "BLogic". Should I refactor this so that each object is created when needed and released when out of scope? Then every event on UI will probably create a few of this objects. Should I strive to minimize creation of new objects or to minimize number of static and global objects? Generally I am trying to minimize the scope of every variable but should I treat this business logic objects specially?
