• How can I use Databound variables in conditional statements within Custom Databound controls?

  I'm developing my custom DataBound Controls that make use of an '<ItemTemplate>' tag and '<%# %>' server tags to generate some data however I need to make a conditional statement within one of my Databound controls as shown below. <custom:DataboundControl runat="server"> <ItemTemplate> <% if(((Dictionary<string, string>)Container.DataItem)["MyVariable"]=="" { %> <!-- Conditional Code Happens Here --> <% } %> </ItemTemplate> </custom:DataboundControl> Right now my code isn't working because the compiler cannot recognize my Container.DataItem variable within a <% %> tag and a <%# %> tag doesn't support conditional statements.   Hi all, I have a server-generated html like: <ul> <li><!-- few nested elements that form a block --></li> <li><!-- few nested elements that form anaother block --></li> <li><!-- etc, X times --></li> </ul> All blocks have known width 200px and unknown height. I want <li> to be arranged in table-like fashion like this: What I have for now is following css: li { display: block; width: 200px; float: left; margin: 10px; } All is fine except that columns don't get equal height. And in example above block #4 “snatch” at #1 and the result isn't what I'm trying to achieve: Is there any pure-CSS cross-browser way that will allow grid layout I want and will not enforce markup change?

  Hi I have fully working project in .net 3.5SP1, with EF 1 ORM. I tried to upgrade to .net 4. No issue while upgrading... Then i ran the project and got a NullExecptionError, with no stack trace... and no way to debug. Here’s how it looks now: Do you have any idea what CSS property should I touch? note: If I add margin or padding, one column shifts down because (as I understand it) it doesn’t fit. There might be other CSSs as well, since this came in a template (I have been asked for this change, but I didn’t do any of this, as usual). Thanks for any insight.

• Severe issues with document.GetElementById

  I've been using document.GetElementById succesfully but from some time on I can't make it work again. Old pages in which I used it still work but things as simple as this: <html> <head> <title>no title</title> <script type="text/javascript"> document.getElementById("ThisWillBeNull").innerHTML = "Why is this null?"; </script> </head> <body> <div id="ThisWillBeNull"></div> </body> </html> Are giving me "document.getElementById("parsedOutput") is null" all the time now. It doesnt matter if I use Firefox or Chrome or which extensions i have enabled or what headers I use for the html, it's always null and I can't find what could be wrong. Thanks for your input =)

• Richfaces modal panel and a4j:keepAlive

  Hello! I've got unexpected problems with richfaces (3.3.2) modal panel. When i try to open it, browser opens two panels instead of one: one is in the center, another is in the upper left corner. Besides, no fading happens. Also i have three modes: view, edit, new - and when i open my panel it should show either "Create new..." or "Edit..." in the header and actually it shows but not in the header as the latter isn't rendered at all though it should, because i set proper mode in action before opening this modal panel. Besides it works fine on all other pages i've made and there are tens of such pages in my application. I can't understand what's wrong here. The only way to fix it is to remove <a4j:keepAlive/> from the page that is very strange, imho. I'm not sure if code will be usefull here as it works fine everywhere in my application but this only case. So if you put it on your page it will probably work without problems. My only question is: are there any hidden or rare problems in interaction of these two elements (<rich:modalPanel> and <a4j:keepAlive>)? Or shall i spent another two or three days searching for some wrong comma, parenthesis or whatever in my code? :) For most curious. • How to call a JavaScript function from one frame to another in Chrome/Webkit with file protocol

  I have developed an application that has a list of items in one frame; when one clicks on an item it does something in another frame (loads an image). This used to work fine in all browsers, including Chrome 3; now it still works fine in Firefox but in recent versions of Chrome (I believe since 4) it throws this error: Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL (...) from frame with URL (...). Domains, protocols and ports must match. This is obviously a security "feature" but is it possible to get around it? Here is a simple test: index.html: <html> <frameset cols="50%,50%"> <frame src="left.html" name="left"/> <frame src="right.html" name="right"/> </frameset> </html> left.html: <html> <body> <a href="javascript:parent.right.test('hello');">click me</a> </body> </html> right.html: <html> <body> <script> function test(msg) { alert(msg); } </script> </body> </html> The above works in Firefox 3.6 and Chrome 3 but in Chrome 5 it throws the above error... Edit: added the @cols attribute to the frameset element in fact it works in Chrome if and only if the pages are served with the http protocol (and from the same domain) but my problem is when pages are local and served from a file:// protocol. Then it works in Firefox (all versions) and Chrome 3 but not Chrome 5 (I don't have Chrome 4 so I'm not shure about that specific version (and don't know if it's even possible to download a specific Chrome version?) -- but for Chrome 5 I'm very sure it doesn't work).

• Colorbox with bxslider not working

  Hello I am trying to use bxslider with colorbox. My implementation of bxslider is like an example listed here. The difference is that I want only the pagers to be shown. Also when the user clicks one pager I want colorbox to open and have next and previous buttons. The problem is that I cant group the images with colorbox and next and previous button is not shown! The following code uses the rel option but with this way colorbox doesnt event start. • Avoiding Redundancies in XML documents

  I was working with a certain XML where there were no redundancies <person> <eye> <eye_info> <eye_color> blue </eye_color> </eye_info> </eye> <hair> <hair_info> <hair_color> blue </hair_color> </hair_info> </hair> </person> As you can see, the sub-tag eye-color makes reference to eye in it's name, so there was no need to avoid redundancies, I could get the eye color in a single line after loading the XML into a dataset: dataset.ReadXml(path); value = dataset.Tables("eye_info").Rows(0)("eye_color"); I do realise it's not the smartest way of doing so, and this situation I'm having now wasn't unforeseen. Now, let's say I have to read xml's that are in this format: <person> <eye> <info> <color> blue </color> </info> </eye> <hair> <info> <color> blue </color> </info> </hair> </person> So If I try to call it like this: dataset.ReadXml(path); value = dataset.Tables("info").Rows(0)("color"); There will be a redundancy, because I could only go as far as one up level to identify a single field in a XML with my previous method, and the 'disambiguator' is three levels above. Is there a practical way to reach with no mistake a single field given all the above (or at least a few) fields ?

  So I have two models, Person and Film where they're in a many to many relationship. My goal is to grab a film, and output the persons that have also appeared in at least 10 films. For example I can get the count individually by: >>> Person.objects.get(short__istartswith = "Matt Damon").film_set.count() 71 However, if I try to filter all the actors of a particular film out: >>> Film.objects.get(name__istartswith="Saving Private Ryan").actors.all().annotate(film_count=Count('film')).filter(film_count__gte=10) [] it returns an empty set since if I manually look at everyone's film_count it's 1, even though an actor such as Matt Damon (as seen above) has been in 71 films in my db. As you can see with this query, the annotation doesn't work: >>> Film.objects.get(name__istartswith="Saving Private Ryan").actors.all().annotate(film_count=Count('film'))[0].film_count 1 >>> Film.objects.get(name__istartswith="Saving Private Ryan").actors.all().annotate(film_count=Count('film'))[0].film_set.count() 7 and I can't seem to figure out a way to filter it by the film_set.count()

  Hello, I'm a beginner in web development, and I'm trying to insert line breaks in my XML file. This is what my XML looks like: Song Title Lyrics <song> <title>Song Title</title> <lyric>Lyrics</lyric> <song> <title>Song Title</title> <lyric>Lyrics</lyric> <song> <title>Song Title</title> <lyric>Lyrics</lyric> I want to have line breaks in between the sentences for the lyrics. I tried everything from /n, and other codes similar to it, PHP parsing, etc., and nothing works! Have been googling online for hours and can't seem to find the answer. I'm using the XML to insert data to an HTML page using Javascript. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks before :)

• PNGs alpha transparancy in AS3 - Unknown file-type

  Hello there! After whittling down of the options we've encountered a problem with PNG's and ActionScript 3 (AS3). When loading a PNG 8 or PNG 32 with alpha transparancy we're getting the following error reported in Flash:- "Error #2124: Loaded file is an unknown type" Now, we're dealing with some legacy images, and it appears as though this problem isn't universal - some images believed to be 32bit alpha PNG are loading. BUT, some conclusions:- converting one image that was 32 bit alpha (NOT WORKING IN AS3) to PNG 8 index transparency DID work. And converting that same image to PNG 8 alpha DID NOT work. • Comment reply procedure using jquery and php?

  I have Commenting system in my app. For a single video entry anyone can post a comment and someone else can post reply to that comment and replies, cannot have thier further reples, similar to StackOverflow is doing (1 Answer, and thier 1 or more replies). I want the similar functionality what SO has, Let's I have the following HTML <div class="comment" id="comment-908"> First comment </div> <div class="reply"> <div id="reply-909> reply 1 </div> <div id="reply-910> reply 2 </div> <div id="reply-911> reply 3 </div> </div> <form id="reply-form"> <textarea id="replycomment" name="replycomment"></textarea> <input type="submit" name="submit-reply" value="add reply" /> </form> Now above HTML is a sample which I have created, When someone will click on "add reply" button then I am using jquery to post there reply. • 'JQuery' is undefined

  I am working on a ASP.net project created with local file system settings. I am using MVC and Jquery. Jquery is working fine when I run the application in debug mode i.e. in ASP.net Development server. I am trying to host the application in IIS 7. In hosted mode, it does not recognize Jquery and gives scripting error 'Jquery is undefined'. The locations of the script files is unchanged in both modes. Can anybody have any clue what can be the reason and how to solve this.
