• Drupal adding JS

  I know this is not a Drupal forum but this forum is quick at responding so I thought I should give it a shot. Here's my problem. I'm trying to insert reference to the javascript file in the header by using drupal_add_js function. I placed this line inside template preprocess function of template.php. The result....is not working at all. There is no script link in output as it should be. Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong? • Having trouble using 'AND' in CONTAINSTABLE SQL SERVER FULL TEXT SEARCH

  I've been using FULL-TEXT for awhile but I cannot seem to get the most relevant results sometimes. If I have an field with something like "An Overview of Pain Medicine 5/12/2006" and a user types "An Overview 5/12/2006" So we create a search like: '"An" AND "Overview" AND "5/12/2006"' - 0 results (bad) '"Overview" AND "5/12/2006"' - 1 result (good) The CONTAINSTABLE portion of my query: FROM ce_Activity A INNER JOIN CONTAINSTABLE(View_Activities,(Searchable), @Search) AS KeyTbl ON A.ActivityID = KeyTbl.[KEY] "Searchable" is a field contains the activity title, and start date(converted to string) in one field so it's all search friendly. Why would this happen?

  Hi all, I have a server-generated html like: <ul> <li><!-- few nested elements that form a block --></li> <li><!-- few nested elements that form anaother block --></li> <li><!-- etc, X times --></li> </ul> All blocks have known width 200px and unknown height. I want <li> to be arranged in table-like fashion like this: What I have for now is following css: li { display: block; width: 200px; float: left; margin: 10px; } All is fine except that columns don't get equal height. And in example above block #4 “snatch” at #1 and the result isn't what I'm trying to achieve: Is there any pure-CSS cross-browser way that will allow grid layout I want and will not enforce markup change?

• Reshape data frame to convert factors into columns in R

  I have a data frame where one particular column has a set of specific values (let's say, 1, 2, ..., 23). What I would like to do is to convert from this layout to the one, where the frame would have extra 23 (in this case) columns, each one representing one of the factor values. The data in these columns would be booleans indicating whether a particular row had a given factor value... To show a specific example: Source frame: ID DATE SECTOR 123 2008-01-01 1 456 2008-01-01 3 789 2008-01-02 5 ... <more records with SECTOR values from 1 to 5> Desired format: ID DATE SECTOR.1 SECTOR.2 SECTOR.3 SECTOR.4 SECTOR.5 123 2008-01-01 T F F F F 456 2008-01-01 F F T F F 789 2008-01-02 F F F F T I have no problem doing it in a loop but I hoped there would be a better way. So far reshape() didn't yield the desired result. Help would be much appreciated.

• Jquery tabs and forms

  Hi, this may be a weird problem but I’m not sure the best way to go about it.. I am using JQuery ajax tabs. The tab section is dynamic so multiple tabs can be added, as the content is loaded via Ajax the same content can be loaded into different tabs. The other important detail is that i am using the Cache option so the tabs maintain state. Now problems arise when more than one tab has been loaded. It looks like HTML items such as forms and divs now have duplicated id's within the DOM, so Ajax queries can no longer distinguish between the elements.. The result is that any JavaScript/Ajax breaks. Does anyone have any suggestions for way to tackle such a problem? Thanks in advance..

• user table with javaDB and Hibernate from within grails

  let's see if I can ask this in an understandable way... I started with grails and created a domain class called user. As far as I understand, Hibernate is used to map this domain class to the database. This works pretty fine with hsqldb. Now I tried to switch to javaDB and get an error message because the table is called "user" (which seems to be a reserved word for javaDB). So a statement like create table user ... will result in an error message. create table "user" ... works, but Hibernate seems not put put the table name in quotes. How can I configure Hibernate to use quotes in order to make it work with my table name? PS: yes, I know, I could map the domain class to another table name... :-)

  I need a way to define a FLAGS_IF macro (or equivalent) such that FLAGS_IF(expression) <block_of_code> FLAGS_ENDIF when compiling in debug (e.g. with a specific compiler switch) compiles to if (MyFunction(expression)) { <block_of_code> } whereas in release does not result in any instruction, just as it was like this #if 0 <block_of_code> #endif In my ignorance on the matter of c/c++ preprocessors i can't think of any naive way (since #define FLAGS_IF(x) #if 0 does not even compile) of doing this, can you help? I need a solution that: Does not get messed up if */ is present inside <block_of_code> Is sure to generate 0 instructions in release even inside inline functions at any depth (i guess this excludes if (false){<block_of_code>} right?) • php encrypting an integer to get only alphanumeric characters?

  When I use some of php's encryption functions, I end up getting a few characters I don't want (+, /, =). The problem is that my application doesn't allow these in the url. I'm wondering if there's a good way of encrypting an integer and having only alphanumeric characters in the result? I'm trying to pass some data through the url. I know it's possible to do some workarounds (put data in database and pass the id to the row or something), but I really want to try it this way. Ideas?

• Reversed Latitude/Longitude US Tiger/Line Shape File to MySQL w/ OGR2OGRP

  Hi - I've downloaded the latest set (2010) of TIGER edge shape files (ESRI shapefile format) from the US Census website and am loading them into MySQL using the GDAL ogr2ogr utility. A new table (geotest) does get created with a SHAPE column that has the geometry defined as a LINESTRING. However, I am seeing reversed latitude and longitude values that get reversed when running the following command: ogr2ogr -f "MySQL" MySQL:"geo,user=lejeuned,host=localhost,password=cnickl234" -nln geotest -nlt LINESTRING -append -a_srs "EPSG:4326" -lco engine=MYISAM tl_2010_01021_edges.shp Mapping the latitude/longitude (after reversing them of course) they appear to be spot on so I suspect there is just something I am doing wrong or flag I am missing which is causing the latitude and longitudes to be transposed. When I select the SHAPE column using astext() I get the following result: LINESTRING(-86.69863 32.973164,-86.69853 32.97302,-86.69856 32.97287,-86.698613 32.972825,-86.6988 32.972825,-86.6989 32.972892,-86.6989 32.973002,-86.69874 32.97316,-86.69864 32.97318,-86.69863 32.973164) Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

• Apple Push notifications server - Feedback always returns zero tuples

  Hi, I am developing an iPhone App that uses Apple Push Notifications. On the iPhone side everything is fine, on the server side I have a problem. Notifications are sent correctly however when I try to query the feedback service to obtain a list of devices from which the App has been uninstalled, I always get zero results. I know that I should obtain one result as the App has been uninstalled from one of my test devices. After 24 hours and more I still have no results from the feedback service.. Any ideas? Does anybody know how long it takes for the feedback service to recognize that my App has been uninstalled from my test device? Could it be due to the sandbox environment?

The result would be the emergence of a single email service, let's call it emailbook.com, which we all have to subscribe to, if we really want to communicate with the world. This is what's happening with social networking today. You HAVE to use the same service your fiends/colleagues are using to talk to them. I would like to be able to put up my own social site, invite my friends who trust me, share amongst us, but still be able to share with the world at large. What are the chances of this scenario happening in the future? What does it take?

  Hi there, I'm a (complete) php noob and need a little help with something. I'm working on a project whereby a user can select up to 6 categories via a form (I'm using ExpressionEngine). The output is like this: "Cat1","Cat2","Cat3" ...and so on. The user can select up to 6 categories on that form. What I need: even if my result is 3 categories I need to have 6 'cells' - for want of a better word - even if they're empty: "Cat1","Cat2","Cat3","","","" I've tried this: <?php $str = '(output goes here)'; print_r(explode(',', $str, 6)); ?> ...but the output give me: Array ( [0] => Cat1 [1] => Cat2 [2] => Cat3 [3] => [4] => [5] => ) How do I get from that to this: "Cat1","Cat2","Cat3","","","" Does this make sense? • differences between using wmode="transparent", "opaque", "window" for an embedded object on webpage

  when embedding a Flash object with the <object and <embed tag, there is an attribute called "wmode". It seems that most of the time, wmode="transparent" is the same as wmode="opaque" as the Flash doesn't actually have any transparent color so that the bottom HTML element is to be shown. As a result, "opaque" should be faster than "transparent" since it require less processing for transparency, yet most of the time i see Flash object embedded with "transparent" instead of "opaque".   Not sure if this is doable using sql alone or not, but here is the problem. I have a weird requirement that data needs to be displayed in columns so users can compare data quickly! Here is what the result set looks like right now CustomerID Company Active 001 ATT Y 002 ATT N 003 ATT Y 001 VZ Y 002 VZ N 003 VZ Y 001 TM Y 002 TM Y 003 TM Y Now this is how they want to see it CustomerID Company Active Company Active Company Active 001 ATT Y VZ Y TM Y 002 ATT N VZ N TM Y 003 ATT Y VZ Y TM Y Assumptions: This could be a pretty long table, that's why they want to see all companies on one row, rather than needing to scroll down to see if active or not. I also want to include the hierachly structure of the categories. So if we have a leave node, recusivly go up to the top node. • Using a UIPickerView to make a CoreData Relationship

  Okay, so I have a fairly simple application set up. I have two different CoreData Entities, Games and Platforms, each have one attribute: name, and they have a one-to-many relationship between them. Platforms are populated on the first launch of the application, and will never change as a result of user input. I'm working on my Add view to let the user add new games to their personal database, and each game should select from a platform. The add view itself is a grouped table view with static custom cells. Tapping the platform cell should advance the user to another view to select the platform. My thought is that UIPickerView seems like a logical choice for the control, since the Platform list is static, but I'm not sure how to use it with CoreData. Even if I construct a fetch request to get the Platform objects and extract the strings out, how do I go about linking the new Game object to the original Platform object?

• typeid , dynamic casting (upcast) and templates

  Hello, I have few questions regarding dynamic casting , typeid() and templates 1) How come typeid does not require RTTI ? 2) dynamic_cast on polymorphic type: When I do downcast (Base to Derive) with RTTI - compilation passes When RTTI is off - I get a warning (warning C4541: 'dynamic_cast' used on polymorphic type 'CBase' with /GR-; unpredictable behavior may result) When I do upcast (Derive to Base), with or without RTTI - compilation passes smoothly What I don't understand is why when I do upcast and RTTI is off - I don't get any warning/error! 3) dynamic_cast on NON polymorphic type: When I do downcast with or without RTTI - compilation fails (error C2683: 'dynamic_cast' : 'CBase' is not a polymorphic type) BUT When I do upcast with or without RTTI - compilation passes smoothly. How come on upcast on NON polymorphic type passes w/o RTTI ? 4) Does 'inline' in front of a template function has any effect, i.e. when the compiler compiles the function and see it is 'inline' it will actually treat the function as inline or it is ignored? • How to check if an apply-template filled variable is a string or (possibly) empty node in XSLT?

  I need a test which would evaluate to true in two cases: There is a string inside which contains any non white space characters There is any node (which can be possibly empty) on a variable that is filled with apply-template call result. I tried test="normalize-space($var)" but this doesn't cover the empty tag possibility. I also tried simply this: test="$var" but this evaluate to true even for white space only strings. By the way "$var/*" produces an error "Expression ...something I don't remember... node-set" which is I think because of apply-template variable instantiation. Is there any (which means even multi level decision) solution for this? EDIT: I forgot to say that it's for XSLT 1.0 and preferably without any exslt extensions or similar.
