• Should I worry about reigning in namespace number/length/scope?

  I've recently reorganized a solution-in-progress from 24 projects to 4. To keep the copious files organized in the "main" project, things are in folders in folders in folders. I think I've preserved a logical, discoverable arrangement of the solution content. As a result, of course, I end up with namespaces like AppName.DataAccess.NHibernate.Fluent.Mappings. Is there any compelling reason that I should care about flattening out the namespace hierarchy when my project has a somewhat deeply nested folder structure? (I am not concerned about resolving or managing using directives; I let ReSharper do all the heavy lifting here.)

  I'm running a curl request on an eXist database through php. The dataset is very large, and as a result, the database consistently takes a long amount of time to return an XML response.   Hello I have a rails application where I have to subtract 2 time stamps and display the result on the webpage I have used the following sql statement and I am getting the results. select (julianday(resolutions.created_at)-julianday(tickets.created_at))*24 from tickets,resolutions the value of tickets.created_at is 2010-04-05 18:59:02 which is a time stamp and value of resolutions.created_at is 2010-04-08 08:10:33 Now where do I put this sql so that I can be seen in my webpage.   When i connect to my machine using remote desktop the dropdown menus and comboboxes i used in my wpf application is not showing up. And after closing the session when i comes back to my development machine where actually my application runs there also the same issue happens after the remote desktop session. Tried by changing resolution and all sometimes it works but most of the time result is negative. The only temporary solution i found for this is just rebooting the system which is not applicable. Could anyone please help me to fix this issue. Thanks in advance.

• Firefox Upload Form Issue

  Ive created an uplaod script in php that takes a file, resizes it, and creates a cropped square thumbnail. The script itself seems to work fine. However, when i tried to upload an image through firefox, on clicking the submit button the browser shows the loading animation, but it never calls the script, it just stays on the current page. If dont upload an image, then the script can be found and is run. I tried in safari, and i dont get the same problem, i can upload an image from the form, it will process it and take me the correct page. Ive tired just calling a basic script from the form, it just prints out the $_POST and $_FILES, and i get the same result, if an image is present, it wont get to the script, if no image is present, it runs fine. Im just wondering if anyone has any idea whats going on?

  In Ruby 1.9.1 strings are no longer enumerable and string.each is undefined. This causes a problem when parsing values for an array of generated checkboxes since the field value, when submitted, becomes an array of strings. For example: <% for map in Map.find(:all) %> <%= check_box_tag "listing[map_ids][]", map.id %> <%= map.title %> <% end %> This will result in an error, undefined method `each' for "1":String, in process_parameter_filter because map_ids is being passed as "map_ids"=["1","2"] (if checkboxes with values 1 and 2 have been checked that is).   I'm not sure what i'm missing here, but i'm basically trying to compute interpolated values for a time series; when I directly plot the series, constraining the interpolation points with "interpolation.date.vector", the plot is correct: plot(date.vector,fact.vector,ylab='Quantity') lines(spline(date.vector,fact.vector,xout=interpolation.date.vector)) When I compute the interpolation, store it in an intermediate variable, and then plot the results; I get a radically incorrect result: intepolated.values <- spline(date.vector,fact.vector,xout=interpolation.date.vector) plot(intepolated.values$x,intepolated.values$y) lines(testinterp$x,testinterp$y) Doesn't the lines() function have to execute the spline() function to retrieve the interpolated points in the same way i'm doing it?

If it's a big table, that means insert or update statements could be locked for a looooong time. Is there a way to do a "hot alter", like adding a column in such a way that the table is still updatable throughout the process? Mostly I'm interested in a solution for MySQL but I'd be interested in other RDBMS if MySQL can't do it. To clarify, my purpose is simply to avoid downtime when a new feature that requires an extra table column is pushed to production. Any database schema will change over time, that's just a fact of life. I don't see why we should accept that these changes must inevitably result in downtime; that's just weak.

  I am using JAX-WS. I am connecting to .NET webservice that requires authentication. I first call the Authentication.asmx so that I can be authenticated. The call returns me a LoginResult that contains a cookie name. Then I call another webservice and I need to somehow pass this cookie or a cookie name. and I don't know how.   I am new to OpenCV, and trying to capture an image, and then save it to a file. I am posting the code for your reference, below. I have tried the above code in both XP and Vista - the result is a black image on both. Please let me know what I am missing out.

  I would like to efficiently generate a unique list of combinations of numbers based on a starting list of numbers. example start list = [1,2,3,4,5] but the algorithm should work for [1,2,3...n] result = [1],[2],[3],[4],[5] [1,2],[1,3],[1,4],[1,5] [1,2,3],[1,2,4],[1,2,5] [1,3,4],[1,3,5],[1,4,5] [2,3],[2,4],[2,5] [2,3,4],[2,3,5] [3,4],[3,5] [3,4,5] [4,5] Note. I don't want duplicate combinations, although I could live with them, eg in the above example I don't really need the combination [1,3,2] because it already present as [1,2,3]
