• variable in variable in batch and delayed expansion

  Hi, I'm trying to use variable in variable in conjunction with delayed expansion but still no luck. SETLOCAL EnableDelayedExpansion SET ERROR_COMMAND=exit /B ^!ERRORLEVEL^! This is my last try. I want to setup an ERROR_COMMAND to be called when one of the steps in batch file crashes. The command is supposed to be: IF ERRORLEVEL 1 !ERROR_COMMAND! or IF ERRORLEVEL 1 %ERROR_COMMAND% The thing is, I'm not able to find out, how to SET properly the ERROR_COMMAND variable, so that ERRORLEVEL is not evaluated at the time of assignment, but at the time of evaluating the variable Of course I can copy&paste the code all over the batch file, but using the variable just seems a bit prettier... • User Productivity Kit - Powerful Packages (Part 2)

  In my first post on packages I described what a package is and how it can be used. I also started explaining some of the considerations that should be taken into account when determining how to arrange your packages. The first is when the files are interrelated and depend on one another such as an HTML file and it's graphics. A second consideration is how the files are used in your outlines. Let's say you're using a dozen Word doc files. You could place them all in a single package or put each Word doc file in a separate package but what's the right thing to do? There are several factors that will influence your decision. To understand the first, let me explain a function of UPK publishing. Take an outline in UPK that has an attachment (concept, frame link, or hyperlink) that points to a file in a package. When you publish this outline, the publishing engine will determine that there is a link to a file in the package and copy the contents of the package to the publishing destination directory. This is done to ensure that any interrelated files are kept together. For the situation where you have an HTML file with links to number of graphics files, this is a good thing. If, however, the package has a dozen unrelated Word doc files and you link to only one of them, all dozen Word documents will be copied to the publishing destination directory.  Whether or not this is a good thing is dependent on two things. First, are all of the files in the package used in the outline that you're publishing? Take an outline that includes links to all of the Word documents in that dozen document package I described earlier. For this situation, you may choose to keep all the files in a single package for convenience. A second consideration is how your organization leverages reuse in UPK. In this context, I'm referring to the link style of reuse such as when you link to the same topic from multiple UPK outlines and changes to the topic appear in both places. Take an example where you have the earlier mentioned dozen Word document package and an outline with a dozen topics in it. Each topic has an attachment pointing to one of the Word documents in the package (frame link, concept, etc.) If you're only publishing this outline, the single package probably works fine but what if you're reusing one of these topics in another outline? As I explained earlier, linking to one file in the package will result in all files in the package being copied to your published output. In this example, linking to one topic in the first outline will result in all dozen Word documents being copied to the published output. This may result in files in the output that you don't want there for business or size reasons. This is a situation in which you should consider placing each of the Word documents in it's own separate package. With each document in it's own package, that link to a single document will result in only that single package and single Word document being copied to the published output. In my last post I had described that packages are documents in the UPK library. When using the multi-user version of the UPK Developer you can leverage standard library capabilities for managing the files in these packages during the development process - capabilities such as check in / check out, history, etc. When structuring your packages take into consideration how the authors are going to be adding, modifying and deleting files from the packages. A single package is a single document in the UPK library. Like any other document in the library, a single user can check out the package and edit it at a time. If you have a large number of files in a single package and these must be modified by many users, you need to consider whether this will cause problems as multiple users compete to update the same package. If the files don't depend on each other consider placing the files in separate packages to reduce contention. I hope you've enjoyed these two posts on how you can leverage the power of packages in your content. In summary, consider the following when structuring your packages: Is the asset a single, standalone file or a set of files that depend on each other? Will all the files always be used together in a single outline or may only some of the files be needed based on how the content is reused across multiple outlines? Will multiple developers need to update the files in a single package or should you break it into multiple packages to reduce contention when checking out the document? • PHP Include Windows XP Notepad++ Editor - Nav Include Not Working - Nav Disappears

  I am creating a website, and have a tabbed horizontal menu. In order to cut back on the number of files I have to edit when I have to make changes to the menu I want to put the navigation in a separate file that I can call using a PHP include statement. When I do this, however, the nav disappears entirely from the page. The rest of the content remains, and there are no error messages. I have been looking for answers for this for weeks, and have tried every version of the PHP include statement that I could find. None of them worked. This was the last attempt. I have the file "nav.php" in a folder named "includes" in a main dir called "testsite" I use Windows XP, use NotePad++ as my text editor, and have been testing in Firefox. I can't find an answer anywhere - any help would be appreciated. Lorianna

  I was wondering how Java takes the following scenario public static void main(String[] args) throws IndexOutOfBoundsException, CoordinateException, MissionException, SQLException, ParserConfigurationException { try { doSomething(); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } In the above code, I am declaring the main function to throw many different exceptions, but inside the function, I am catching the generic Exception. I am wondering how java takes this internally? I.e., say doSomething() throws an IndexOutOfBounds exception, will the e.printStackTrace() get called in the last catch (Exception e) {...} block? I know if an exception not declared in the throws area of the function gets thrown, the try/catch will handle it, but what about exceptions mentioned in the declaration?

  I am getting "too many connections" problem in an Asp .Net Mvc application which get fix when i manually kill process through Mysql v6.56 IDE, But on remote hosting computer where i can't kill process each time how can i fix this error. I have tried making a connection to information_schema DB's PROCESSLIST table but when connection is about to execute command there comes an error "access denied of root@loclahostto information_schema". I also have tried to grant all privileges to root@loclahost but still i am not able to fix this problem.   I'm searching for an algorithm for Digit summing. Let me outline the basic principle: Say you have a number: 18268. 1 + 8 + 2 + 6 + 8 = 25 2 + 5 = 7 And 7 is our final number. It's basically adding each number of the whole number until we get down to a single (also known as a 'core') digit. It's often used by numerologists. • Django Caught an exception while rendering: No module named registration

  I seem to have run into a bit of an issue. I am busy creating an app, and over the last few weeks setup my server to use Git, mod_wsgi to host this app. Since deploying it, everything seems to be running smoothly however, I had to go through all my files and insert the absolute url of the project to make sure it works fine. on my local machine from registration.models import UserRegistration on server from myapp.registration.models import UserRegistration Am I doing something wrong? And this has also caused an issue for me where I cannot access my django admin interface. All i get is this: Caught an exception while rendering: No module named registration Exception Value: Caught an exception while rendering: No module named registration As far as I am concerned my app has all the relevant urls, but it does not seem to work. • ORM in the realworld

  I am begining a new project that i think will last for some years. Am in the point of deciding the ORM framework to use (or whether to use one at all). Can anyone with experience tell me whether orm frameworks are used in realworld applications. The problem i have in mind is this: The orm tool will generate for me tables and columns etc as i create and modify my entities. However, after the project has gone live and is in production, certain database changes will not be possible. Can this hinder the advancement of the project. If i had used a framework like ibatis for example, i know i would only need to adjust the sql statements based on the database changes. Can someone tell me whether ORM tools have survived the live environment. At my office, we use java based ERP that was done long ago and it was never done using any ORM framework. Regards. Josh

  Hi, Is there any way to get taskbar's battery and phonesignal indicators icons and then draw into a picturebox or something? Why do I need this? I need all screen space available, so all forms are maximized and they cover up the windowsmobile taskbar. But, I have to display information about battery e phone signal strength in just a couple of forms. I know how to get their values (like systeminformation.phonesignalstrength), but what I want is the "current icon", so I don't need to worry about their values. It's just a visual information for the user. In last case, if this is not possible, how to get those icons from windowsmobile shell, so I'll draw them by my self, treating each differente status/values that they assume. (This is what I don't want to do!) Thanks in advance and sorry for my poor english.

  Hello, i would by thankful for an official link (and section) of the specification for CSS, that explains if: .one two h1 {color:green;font-family:arial;} /*case 1 */ .one two h1 {color:blue;} /*case 2*/ will result in (when evaluated by the browser) .one two h1 {color:blue;font-family:arial;} /*case 3*/ or will it be: .one two h1 {color:blue;} /*case 4*/ ==I have read a lot about inheritance, specifity, cascading etc but I still have not found for the given example which rules apply here. In regard to specifity both elements are equal in specifity the case2 will be the most specify one (as it is equal specific but the last one). But does specifity always apply to the whole selector with ALL properties defined. Or only the the properties that are are in "competition" (and declared in both). thanks!!!!

  Hey guys, My company purchased Visual Studio Pro 2008 last year, which had a 'free' copy of SQL Server Developer, which I have been using for development. We are wanting to upgrade the copy of developer edition to enterprise (As we now want to use the server as a production server), and have purchased the licenses for this. Now... Morally we're in the clear... However does this comply with MS licensing T&C's? We have Developer installed how we want it, and don't really want to uninstall SQL Server Dev just to install SQL Server Ent. Is there a way to transfer the license key to our Enterprise key without having to reinstall? Thanks, JD

• Why does my DHTML menu have huge layout issues in IE7?

  This one's got me stumped. Usually with a little CSS juggling here and there I am able to solve most IE7 CSS bugs, but not this one! Head on over to the example page and view it in IE7, you will soon see that when mousing over the (vertical) drop down menu on the left of the page, it opens the sub menu WAY over to the right. I have pulled every last hair out! If it helps, the menu was made with 'Sothink DHTML Menu 9' As always, all replies are much appreciated.

  I'm familiar with how type affinity works in SQLite: You can declare column types as anything you want, and all that matters is whether the type name contains "INT", "CHAR", "FLOA", etc. But is there a commonly-used convention on what type names to use? For example, if you have an integer column, is it better to distinguish between TINYINT, SMALLINT, MEDIUMINT, and BIGINT, or just declare everything as INTEGER? So far, I've been using the following: INTEGER REAL CHAR(n) -- for strings with a known fixed with VARCHAR(n) -- for strings with a known maximum width TEXT -- for all other strings BLOB BOOLEAN DATE -- string in "YYYY-MM-DD" format TIME -- string in "HH:MM:SS" format TIMESTAMP -- string in "YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS" format (Note that the last three are contrary to the type affinity.)

  I'm looking for an algorithm in c# that solves a combinatorics problem: Assume i have the objects 1,2,3,4 I want to get all possible ways to group these object in multiple groups, that each time contain all objects. Order is not important. Example: <1,2,3,4 <1,2 / 3,4 <1,3 / 2,4 <1,4 / 3,2 <1,2,3 / 4 <1,2,4 / 3 <1,3,4 / 2 <2,3,4 / 1 <1 / 2 / 3 / 4 In the first case there is one group that contain all 4 objects. Next are cases with 2 groups that contain all objects in many different ways. The last case is 4 groups, that each one contains only one object.

• Can't get websrvmng to run in Plesk SSH terminal.

  I am following this MediaTemple KB article and stuck at the last step. When I try to run the websrvmng (using the ssh terminal in Plesk) using the code the KB references: /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/websrvmng -v -a I receive a 'File or Directory not found' error. I am a n00b when it comes to this stuff and would really appreciate any advice/suggestions for how to get websrvmng to run. I have searched through tons of articles on it but found nothing more illuminating than the above code. I am sure I'm overlooking something simple (login as root to run? something I need to replace in the code like usr?). It is a MediaTemple DV server running CentOS 5 and as I said using Plesk. I desperately need to get this to work and I am pulling my hair out, so as I said any help would be greatly appreciated.
