• IIS Multiple Domain Redirect

  I currently have 2 domain names that I want to setup different websites for. I am currently looking at using some free hosting that works well for my current needs but doesn't give me any way to point "mydomain.com" to the actual site. Instead I have to give users a longer, harder to remember url. My proposed solution is to point my domains to my home ip and host a small ASP.NET app through IIS consisting of a redirect page that simply redirects to the appropriate site. Is there a way in ASP.NET to recognize which domain url was requested in order to know where to redirect the page to?

• How to use AutoLayout to position UIButtons in horizontal lines?

  I need to create a couple of UIButtons programmatically in my app (iOS 6.0 and above). Each button should have the optimal width to display button label text (of various lenghts). I want to display the buttons in a "wrap around" style: Starting from the left edge, each button should be positioned next to each other horizontally (in a defined order), and if a button does not fit in the current "line", it should start a new line on the left edge below the previous line. I could manually calculate the frame of each button in my code, but should I use AutoLayout (with programmatically creates NSLayoutConstraints) instead? How exactly would I need to set it up?

  I have been searching on how to do this for a very long time, and I have not managed to get a straight answer on the subject, so hopefully one of you StackOverflow users will be able to help me here. I have a WPF ListBox named CategoryList and a SDF database called ProgramsList.sdf (with two tables called CategoryList and ProgramsList). What I wish my program to do is get the category names from the CategoryList table and list them in the ListBox control called CategoryList. Here's the code that I tried, but it only caused my program to crash. • Use CSS (and maybe JavaScript) to make an element be square (or maintain a specific aspect ratio)

  I have a div that I want to have the following characteristics: Width = 50% of its parent element Height equal to whatever it needs to be in order to maintain a certain aspect ratio. I need to use percentages because the object will resize left-right when the browser is resized. I want the object to be resized top-bottom to ensure the object maintains the same aspect ratio. I don't think there's any way to use pure CSS to do this, but does anyone know of a way? Alternatively, is there an easy JavaScript way to do this? (JQuery is fine.)

• Failed to load viewstate...

  Yes, it's the infamous viewstate again! Now I am aware that problems can ocurr if you load controls in the wrong order or if the viewstate IDs are incorrect after postbacks etc etc. But my issue is that I am not really creating any controls dynamically - I only have one user control on the page. More importantly, the issue seems to be occuring with just one user. What could be the problem? Corrupt browser cache? Any help appreciated. thanks, KS

• How can I know when SQL Full Text Index Population is finished?

  We are writing unit tests for our ASP.NET application that run against a test SQL Server database. That is, the ClassInitialize method creates a new database with test data, and the ClassCleanup deletes the database. We do this by running .bat scripts from code. The classes under test are given a connection string that connects to the unit test database rather than a production database. Our problem is, that the database contains a full text index, which needs to be fully populated with the test data in order for our tests to run as expected. As far as I can tell, the fulltext index is always populated in the background. I would like to be able to either: Create the full text index, fully populated, with a synchronous (transact-SQL?) statement, or Find out when the fulltext population is finished, is there a callback option, or can I ask repeatedly? My current solution is to force a delay at the end the class initialize method - 5 seconds seems to work - because I can't find anything in the documentation.

• C# Spawn Multiple Threads for work then wait until all finished

  just want some advice on "best practice" regarding multi-threading tasks. as an example, we have a C# application that upon startup reads data from various "type" table in our database and stores the information in a collection which we pass around the application. this prevents us from hitting the database each time this information is required. at the moment the application is reading data from 10 tables synchronously. i would really like to have the application read from each table in a different thread all running in parallel. the application would wait for all the threads to complete before continuing with the startup of the application. i have looked into BackGroundWorker but just want some advice on accomplishing the above. Does the method sound logical in order to speed up the startup time of our application How can we best handle all the threads keeping in mind that each thread's work is independent of one another, we just need to wait for all the threads to complete before continuing. i look forward to some answers

  Quite new to maven here so let me explain first what I am trying to do: We have certain JAR files which will not be added to the repo. This is because they are specific to Oracle ADF and are already placed on our application server. There is only 1 version to be used for all apps at anyone time. In order to compile though, we need to have these on the class path. There are a LOT of these JARS, so if we were to upgrade to a newer version of ADF, we would have to go into every application and redefine some pretty redundant dependencies. So again, my goal is to just add these JARs to the classpath, since we will control what version is actually used elsewhere. So basically, I want to just add every JAR in a given directory to maven's classpath for when it compiles. And without putting any of these JAR files in a repository. And of course, these JARs are not to be packaged into any EAR/WAR.

It has controls listed in the template in the following order: some irrelevant controls a label with an accelerator (let's pretend it's Alt-A) an edit box OK and Cancel buttons Normally when I hit Alt-A the keybord focus is transferred to the edit box - just as needed. However I sometimes need to disable to edit box. If I hit Alt-A when the edit box is disabled the effect is that the OK button is pressed and that is definitely not what I want. I would prefer to have no action taken in this case. What could I do to workaround this?

I lack of an good example for the moment. How would I provide NAMED variables in an formatted string? Is there any way to do it without some heavy self-made string replacements?   I've got portions of pages being replaced with HTML retrieved via AJAX calls. Some of the HTML coming back has JavaScript that needs to be run once in order to initialize the accompanying HTML (setting up event handlers). Since the document has already been loaded, when I replace chunks of HTML using jQuery's .html function, having jQuery(document).ready(function() {...}); doesn't execute since the page loaded long before and this is just a snippet of HTML being replaced. What's the best way to attach event handlers whose code is packaged along with the HTML it's interested in, when that content is loaded via AJAX? Should I just put a procedural block of javascript after the HTML , so that when I insert the new HTML block, jQuery will execute the javascript immediately? Is the HTML definitely in the DOM and ready to be acted upon by JavaScript which is in the same .html call?

Please tell any suggestions and if you have ever seen implementation of something familiar please share the link. University. There are 40+ specialities grouped into 5 faculties. User choose several he is interested in and than orders them by priority. For example I am interested in "programming microcontrollers", "system analysis" and "experimental physic". • Indexing affects only the WHERE clause?

  If I have something like: CREATE INDEX idx_myTable_field_x ON myTable USING btree (field_x); SELECT COUNT(field_x), field_x FROM myTable GROUP BY field_x ORDER BY field_x; Imagine myTable with around 500,000 rows and most of field_x values being unique. Since I don't use any WHERE clause, will the created index have any effect at all in my query? Edit: I'm asking this question because I don't get any relevant difference between query-times before and after creating the index; They always take about 8 seconds (which, of course is too much time!). Is this behaviour expected?

  For a project at university I plan to build an annotation based tool to visualize/play around with data structures. Here's my idea: Students which want to try out their self-written data structures need to: mark the type of their data structures using some sort of marker annotation e.g. @List public class MyList { ... } so that I know how to represent the data structure need to provide an iterator so that I can retrieve the elements in the right order need to annotate methods for insertion and removal, e.g. @add public boolean insert(E e) { ... } so that I can "bind" that method to some button. Do similar applications exist? I googled a little bit around but didn't find anything like that.

  Hi guys, I have an issue with a query I'm trying to run on some data, I guess the place to start is to describe the data. Ok so I have a list of email addresses, each email address has a unique ID and an account ID Also in my tables I have a set number which auto incrememnts, this will allow me to target duplicate email addresses What I need to do is something like this. Insert into duplicates (EMAIL,ACCOUNTID,ID) SELECT Email,AccountID,ID FROM EmailAddresses Group by Email,AccountID Having Count(email)>1 Order by AccountID, Email So essentially I want to select all duplicate email addresses and insert them (and their relative fields) into a new table broken down by accountID so I can run some further querys on it.   Yes, SO, I know, it's not a "programmer's" question:) But customers sometimes help us (devs) with our code, so we (devs) shold be grateful. I think answer to my question will be useful for all fellow android devs. User has purchased my app. Refund period (15min) is over of course. Now I'd like to return money to him as a gift, because he helped me in testing a little. If I refund the entire order in Checkout-Orders will user keep my app 'purchased'? I mean will he be able to uninstall and install it again from GooglePlay-MyApps and will app be marked "purchased"? Will Google LVL accept him to run the app? I've done such refunds before, but then they called it "Android Market", and refund was 12h, and there were no LVL. Maybe somebody know another way to make a small gift using Google Play?

  In sql server 2008, I have the following query: select c.title as categorytitle, s.title as subcategorytitle, i.title as itemtitle from categories c join subcategories s on c.categoryid = s.categoryid left join itemcategories ic on s.subcategoryid = ic.subcategoryid left join items i on ic.itemid = i.itemid where (ic.isactive = 1 or ic.isactive is null) and i.siteid = 132 order by c.title, s.title I am trying to get items in their subcategories, but I still want to return a record if there are no items in the category or subcategory. Subcategories that have no items are never returned. What am I doing wrong? Thank you EDIT Modified query with a second left join and where clause, but it's still not returning nulls. :/

  I have spent most of my development career writing backend code, or front-end apps for used as daily business tools, by at least semi-skilled staff, e.g. order-tracking, sales capture, etc. That those I helped build peformed their tasks well is comfort enough, but I am still seeking excellence in the building of these kind of apps, versus the more trendy emphasis on slow and sensual interpersonal relationships with the UI. Can anyone recommend reading on this type of application (LOB?) on the web today? Any available examples to study?
