  • Mac OS X 10.6 assign mapped IP to Windows 7 VM in Parallels

    I'm trying to assign a mapped IP address to a Windows 7 VM. I have setup running in Parallels 5 in wireless bridged networking mode. The problem I am having is that it looks like the VM is actually broadcasting the MAC address of the host machine and thus causing a clash of IP addresses on the network. I have tried removing the mapping for "alex-macbook" which results in the guest machine being assigned a normal DHCP address and NOT the one that is in the mapping of the router.

Is there any way to Rehost a Workflow that was hosted in a non WPF application, like ASP.Net MVC?

  • MKMapView memory usage grows out of control with setRegion: calls

    Hi, I have a single MKMapView instance that I have programmatically added to a UIView. As part of the UI, the user can cycle through a list of addresses and the map view is updated to show the correct map for each address as the user goes through them. I create the map view once, and simply change what it displays with setRegion:animated:. The problem is that each time the map is changed to show a new address, the memory usage of my program increases by 200K-500K (as reported by Memory Monitor in Instruments). According to Object Allocations, it appears that a lot of 1.0K Mallocs are happening each time, and the Extended Detail pane for these 1.0K allocations shows that the Responsible Caller is convert_image_data and the Extended Detail pane shows that this is the result of [MKMapTileView drawLayer:inContext:]. So, seems likely to me that the memory usage is due to MKMapView not freeing memory it uses to redraw the map each time. In fact, when I don't display the map at all (by not even adding it as a subview of my main UIView) but still cycle through the addresses (which changes various UILabels and other displayed info) the memory usage for the app does NOT increase. If I add the map view but never update it with setRegion:, the memory also does NOT increase when changing to a new address. One more bit of info: if I go to a new address (and therefore ask the map to display the new address) the memory jumps as described above. However, if I go back to an address that was already displayed, the memory does not jump when the map redraws with the old address. Also, this happens on iPad (real device) with 3.2 and on iPhone (again, real device) with 3.1.2. Here's how I initialize the MKMapView (I only do this once): CGRect mapFrame; mapFrame.origin.y = 460; // yes, magic numbers. just for testing. mapFrame.origin.x = 0; mapFrame.size.height = 500; mapFrame.size.width = 768; mapView = [[MKMapView alloc] initWithFrame:mapFrame]; mapView.delegate = self; [self.view insertSubview:mapView atIndex:0]; And in response to the user selecting an address, I set the map like so: MKCoordinateRegion region; MKCoordinateSpan span; span.latitudeDelta=kStreetMapSpan; // 0.003 span.longitudeDelta=kStreetMapSpan; // 0.003 region.center = address.coords; // coords is CLLocationCoordinate2D region.span = span; mapView.region.span = span; [mapView setRegion:region animated:NO]; Any thoughts? I've scoured the net but haven't seen mention of this problem, and I've reached the limits of my Instruments knowledge. Thanks for any ideas.

Why does the main project have to also reference the WiX extension, even though it doesn't directly need it? I'd like to keep my wixlib's as self-contained as possible, so that other projects that use them don't need to know about their inner workings. I'm using latest stable release of WiX (3.0.x).

I'm hoping to map: http://host/app/myBean/myProperty to: @ManagedBean(name="myBean") public class MyBean { public String getMyProperty(); } Is it possible to load a bean by name from a regular servlet? Is there a JSF servlet or helper I could use for it? I seem to be spoilt by Spring in which all this is too obvious.

    We're using the Eclipse CDT 5 C++ IDE on Windows to develop a C++ application on a remote AIX host. Eclipse CDT has the ability to perform remote debugging using gdbserver. Unfortunately, gdbserver is not supported on AIX. Is anyone familiar with a way to debug remotely using Eclipse CDT without gdbserver? Perhaps using an SSH shell connection to gdb?

    I have a project that simply consists of files. I want to package those files into a zip and store them in a maven repository. I have the assembly plugin configured to build the zip file and that part works just fine, but I cannot seem to figure out how to install the zip file? Also, if I want to use this assembly in another artifact, how would I do that? I am intending on calling dependency:unpack, but I don't have an artifact in the repository to unpack.     I have a wxPython application I'm bundling into an exe using py2exe. I've defined an icon in the setup.py file using the following: setup( windows=[ { 'script': 'myapp.py', 'icon_resources': [(1, 'myicon.ico')] }, ], ) This works, but I'd like to be able to access that icon from my wxPython application and use it as the window icon that appears in the top right. Currently I'm using the following to load the icon from the file system: icon = wx.Icon('myicon.ico', wx.BITMAP_TYPE_ICO, 16, 16) self.SetIcon(icon) Which works, but requires that the icon sit beside the EXE, rather than bundled inside it.

I'm having problems for connecting the two devices: Using only bluetooth: impossible using WiFi: at least there are some data exchange between the devices but no successfully conection.   • Strange crashes when using MPMoviePlayerController in iPad and iPad simulator with iOS 4.2.

    I'm getting crashes when trying to play a movie using MPMoviePlayerController on the iPad and in the iPad simulator using iOS 4.2. I am building using xcode 3.2.5 and the 4.2 SDK. When running on an iPad using iOS 3.2 or in the iPad simulator 3.2, the same code works fine, but on an iPad running 4.2 or in the iPad simulator 4.2, it crashes. The crash is due to an exception for calling an unknown selector down somewhere deep in the cocoa libraries, something tries to call a selector called "setHitRectInsets:" on a UIButton object. Also, the crash happens after control has returned to the main event loop. Anybody have any idea what might be causing this? Here is the code (roughly, some extraneous stuff deleted that doesn't seem to have any effect) that is crashing: NSString *fullMovieFilename = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"movie" ofType:@"m4v"]; NSURL *movieURL = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:fullMovieFilename]; moviePlayer = [[MPMoviePlayerController alloc] initWithContentURL:movieURL]; moviePlayer.controlStyle = MPMovieControlStyleNone; // crash happens regardless of the setting here [moviePlayer.view setFrame:self.view.bounds]; [self.view addSubview:moviePlayer.view]; [moviePlayer setFullscreen:YES animated:YES]; // crash happens whether i use fullscreen or not [moviePlayer play]; The same code also works just find if I build using Xcode 3.2.3 and the 4.0 SDK.
