• How to send raw data over a network?

  Hi everyone! I've same data stored in a byte-array. The data contains a IPv4 packet (which contains a udp-packet). I want to send these array raw over the network using C# (preferred) or C++. I don't want to use C#'s udp-client for example. Does anyone know how to perform this? Sorry for my bad English and thanks for your help in advance!!!

• enable profiler / Traceon after SQL server restart automatically

  hi, My client is facing some deadlocks while using our application. I want to track all the deadlocks for my research and to solve the deadlocks. i am currently run the SQL profiler for the event deadlock graph to capture the deadlock scenario. the actual problem is that the SQL server gets restarted every day at 2 am, and the profiler stops capturing the events after the restart. by the time i come to office at start the profiler at say 10 am, there could be deadlocks which i could have missed between 2 am and 10 am. so i am looking for a way so i can capture the deadlocks without me starting manually. i thought i could use TRACEON(1204,-1) so that the deadlock events get captured in the SQL Server error logs. But i found that the TRACE capturing too gets disabled after the restart. Is there a way i can capture the deadlocks either by SQL profiler or by using TRACEON without me manually starting the capturing? Nikhil

• Redirect Output of Capistrano

  I have a Capistrano deploy file (Capfile) that is rather large, contains a few namespaces and generally has a lot of information already in it. My ultimate goal is, using the Tinder gem, paste the output of the entire deployment into Campfire. I have Tinder setup properly already. I looked into using the Capistrano capture method, but that only works for the first host. Additionally that would be a lot of work to go through and add something like: output << capture 'foocommand' Specifically, I am looking to capture the output of any deployment from that file into a variable (in addition to putting it to STDOUT so I can see it), then pass that output in the variable into a function called notify_campfire. Since the notify_campfire function is getting called at the end of a task (every task regardless of the namespace), it should have the task name available to it and the output (which is stored in that output variable). Any thoughts on how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.

  Hi, i have a doubt about Socket Programming, i am developing a TCP packets Sniffer, i am using Socket.BeginAccept, Socket.BeginReceive to capture every packet, but when a packet is received i have to process something, it is a fast operation, but would take some milliseconds, and then call the BeginReceive again. My question is, what would happen if some packets are sent while i am processing, and havent called BeginReceive??...are lost?...are buffered internally?...is there a limit?... Thanks in advance.

• Hibernate Communications Link Failure in Hibernate Based Java Servlet application powered by MySQL

  Let me describe my question - I have a Java application - Hibernate as the DB interfacing layer over MySQL. I get the communications link failure error in my application. The occurence of this error is a very specific case. I get this error , When I leave mysql server unattended for more than approximately 6 hours (i.e. when there are no queries issued to MySQL for more than approximately 6 hours). I am pasting a top 'exception' level description below, and adding a pastebin link for a detailed stacktrace description. javax.persistence.PersistenceException: org.hibernate.exception.JDBCConnectionException: Cannot open connection - Caused by: org.hibernate.exception.JDBCConnectionException: Cannot open connection - Caused by: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.CommunicationsException: Communications link failure - The last packet successfully received from the server was 1,274,868,181,212 milliseconds ago. I have been reading up a bit about this via google search, and came to know that one of the possible ways to overcome this is to set values for c3p0 properties as c3p0 comes bundled with Hibernate. Specifically, I read from here http://www.mchange.com/projects/c3p0/index.html that setting two properties idleConnectionTestPeriod and preferredTestQuery will solve this for me. But these values dont seem to have had an effect. Is this the correct approach to fixing this? If not, what is the right way to get over this?   Hi there, I am developing a simple app which does a little bit of image-processing. It's divided in two activities; the main one with some display elements and the second one which is used to capture images off the phone's camera. To discribe my problem: I start the app, capture an image (by starting a new Intent with the subactivity) and all data is displayed correctly. If I capture another image after this, I run in an java.lang.OutOfMemoryError - bitmap size exceeds VM budget I dont store the captured bitmap, in the second activity I just extract some data from it and pass it to the main-activity; finishing (finish()) the sub-activity afterwards. I really dont know what I can do about it.   I am working with a generic view in Django. I want to capture a named group parameter in the URL and pass the value to the URL pattern dictionary. • IEnumerable<T> ToArray usage, is it a copy or a pointer?

  I am parsing an arbitrary length byte array that is going to be passed around to a few different layers of parsing. Each parser creates a Header and a Packet payload just like any ordinary encapsulation. And my problem lies in how the encapsulation holds its packet byte array payload. Say i have a 100 byte array, and it has 3 levels of encapsulation. 3 packet objects will be created and i want to set the payload of these packets to the corresponding position in the byte array of the packet. For example lets say the payload size is 20 for all levels, then imagine it has a public byte[] Payload on each object. However the problem is that this byte[] Payload is a copy of the original 100 bytes. So i'm going to end up with 160 bytes in memory instead of 100. If it were in c++ i could just easily use a pointer however i'm writing this in c#. So i created the following class: public class PayloadSegment<T> : IEnumerable<T> { public readonly T[] Array; public readonly int Offset; public readonly int Count; public PayloadSegment(T[] array, int offset, int count) { this.Array = array; this.Offset = offset; this.Count = count; } public T this[int index] { get { if (index < 0 || index >= this.Count) throw new IndexOutOfRangeException(); else return Array[Offset + index]; } set { if (index < 0 || index >= this.Count) throw new IndexOutOfRangeException(); else Array[Offset + index] = value; } } public IEnumerator<T> GetEnumerator() { for (int i = Offset; i < Offset + Count; i++) yield return Array[i]; } System.Collections.IEnumerator System.Collections.IEnumerable.GetEnumerator() { IEnumerator<T> enumerator = this.GetEnumerator(); while (enumerator.MoveNext()) { yield return enumerator.Current; } } } This way i can simply reference a position inside the original byte array but use positional indexing. However if i do something like: PayloadSegment<byte> something = new PayloadSegment<byte>(someArray, 5, 10); byte[] somethingArray = something.ToArray(); Will the somethingArray be a copy of the bytes, or a reference to the original PayloadSegment which in turn is a reference to the original byte array? • Port forwarding in C#/software possible? Isn't it only managed by the router?

  Isn't port forwarding managed by the router? Like, I've googled up some software applications that seem to port forward with great success, but it technically seems to be impossible. The packet must first go to the router. The router must forward it to the correct computer based on port forwarding rules. So how can a software application manage port forwarding if the packet must GO to the computer running this software application in the first place, meaning that port forwarding already is successful in the first place?

• Using htaccess rewrite to make a subdirectory be its own root for root relative path requests

  Can I use htaccess to capture requests from a certain subdirectory and make that directory use itself as the root directory for any root relative path requests? For example if I have... http://www.example.com/subFIXED/subANY/restofpath ...where subFIXED is always the same directory, subANY is any immediate subdirectory of subFIXED, and I want a redirection of all href/src requests from any file under subANY to use subANY as the 'root' (sort of like a subdomain), in effect having root level requests use this as the root directory level: http://www.example.com/subFIXED/subANY/ Instead of this: http://www.example.com/ I'm assuming I can put an htaccess file in subFIXED to handle all calls coming from anything under any subANY, but not being very familiar with htaccess rewriting, variables, etc., I can't figure out how to capture which subANY directory is making the root level request and then use that capture to make a rewrite to consider that directory the root level of any root relative path requests from it. • Strange behaviour of Android debugger in Eclipse when using Camera for preview.

  Hi, I have an Android application that uses a SurfaceView subclass and Camera object to preview images before capture. Once I capture an image, I stop the preview and release the camera. Execution stops at any breakpoint after this. However, apart from the "Suspend" and "Terminate" icons, the rest are disabled. This is strange because the "Debug Current Instruction Pointer" is clearly at the said breakpoint and execution is already suspended. I can't perform any debugging operations and have no option but to terminate the session. Sometimes (very rarely), the session terminates by itself. I can confirm that this odd behavior takes place only after I preview the camera capture. I am fairly new to Android development. Is there some obvious mistake I am making? Any help would be highly appreciated.

  Background: I'm trying to come up with a regex for a rewrite rule that will take anything that does not start with a particular prefix, and add that prefix to it. But urls that already have the prefix should be rejected by the regular expression (because they already have the url). Example: If the prefix is s1 a string like home will capture the home part. But a string like s1/home, will not capture anything. This way I can add the capture group onto the prefix, so that 'home' will become 's1/home'. I've tried (^s1/), but I'm missing something here, because that rejected 'home' for some reason.

  Hi all I have a basic question in regards to cvQueryFrame() in OpenCV. I have the following code: IplImage *frame1,*frame2; frame1 = cvQueryFrame(capture); frame2 = cvQueryFrame(capture); Now my question is: if frame1 is a pointer to the first frame, is frame2 a pointer to the 2nd frame? So will the two cvQueryFrame() calls read successive frames? I thought I'd check myself first but the pointers frame1,frame2 seem to have the same hex value. :s I just need to capture two frames at a time and then need to process them. Thanks in advance

  this regular expression should match an html start tag, I think. var results = html.match(/<(\/?)(\w+)([^>]*?)>/); I see it should first capture the <, but then I am confused what this capture (\/?) accomplishes. Am I correct in reasoning that the ([^>]*?)> searches for every character except > = 0 times? If so, why is the (\w+) capture necessary? Doesn't it fall within the purview of [^>]*?

  i want to measure current download speed. im sending huge file over tcp. how can i capture the transfer rate every second? if i use IPv4InterfaceStatistics or similar method, instead of capturing the file transfer rate, i capture the device transfer rate. the problem with capturing device transfer rate is that it captures all ongoing data through the network device instead of the single file that i transfer. how can i capture the file transfer rate? im using c#.
