  • ddclient to update namecheap subdomain?

    I have a subdomain that I want to update with ddclient. I configured the ddclient to get the IP from dyndns but it's not updating the subdomain on namecheap. They said to use yourdomain.com as the login instead of my actual domain. Has anyone been able to get namecheap DNS updated with ddclient? I'm running CentOS 6.2 with ddclient 3.7.3. When I run ddclient I get the following.   • How to edit known_hosts when several hosts share the same IP and DNS name?

    I regularly ssh into a computer which is a dual-boot OS X / Linux computer. The two OS instance do not share the same host key, so they can be seen as two host sharing the same IP and DNS. Let's say the IP is 192.168.0.9, and the names are hostname and hostname.domainname As far as I understood, the solution to be able to connect to the two host is to add them both to the ~/.ssh/know_hosts file. However, it is easier said than done, because the file is hashed, and has probably several entries per host (192.168.0.9, hostname, hostname.domainname). As a consequence, I have the following warning Warning: the ECDSA host key for 'hostname' differs from the key for the IP address '192.168.0.9' Is there an easy way to edit the known_hosts file, while keeping the hashes. For example, how can I find the lines corresponding to a given hostame? How can I generate the hashes for some known hosts? The ideal solution would allow me to connect to seamlessly to this computer with ssh, no matter whether I call it 192.168.0.9, hostname or hostname.domainname, nor if it uses its Linux hostkey or its OSX hostkey. However, I still want to receive a warning if there is a real man-in-the middle attack, i.e. if another key than these two is used.

  • gitolite mac don't add new user to authorized_keys

    I installed gitolite and every thing works fine for me as admin. But when I'd like to add add a new user the new user can't connect to the server. After I looked into the file authorized_keys I saw that the new user wasn't added to the file.   • Thecus N5200, disk has dropped out of RAID5

    We have a Thecus 5200 NAS here at work with five WD Caviar Black 2TB disks in a RADI5 array. Yesterday, disk 4 dropped out of the array, and in the NAS web interface there's a warning about the RAID array being "degraded". When I go into Storage - Disks, disk 1 and 4 has a warning next to them. When I click on the warnings, this information about the disks are displayed: Tray Number 4 Model WD2001FASS-00W2B Power On Hours 2403 Hours Temperature Celsius 34 Reallocated Sector Count 66 Current Pending Sector 1447 Raw Read Error Rate 61 Seek Error Rate 0 Hardware ECC Recovered N/A Tray Number 1 Model WD2001FASS-00W2B Power On Hours 2403 Hours Temperature Celsius 32 Reallocated Sector Count 0 Current Pending Sector 1465 Raw Read Error Rate 0 Seek Error Rate 0 Hardware ECC Recovered N/A I'm not really an expert on either disks or RAID arrays. Does this indicate that the fourth disk is damaged, and needs to be replaced? And what about disk number one? It has a warning, but it's still in the array. Is it safe to add the fourth disk back into the array as a spare? I can't find any way to add it back as a it were before.

  • IPv6 working fine, IPv4 throws OpenSSL error

    I am building a webserver ( http://blog.linformatronics.nl/ ), which functions just fine on both IPv4 and IPv6 and when using a non-SSL connection. However when I connect to it through https, IPv6 works as expected, but an IPv4 connection throws a client side error. Server side logs are empty for the IPv4/https connection. Summarized in a table: | http | https -----+-------+------------------------------------------------------- IPv4 | works | OpenSSL error, failed. No server side logging. -----+-------+------------------------------------------------------- IPv6 | works | self signed certificate warning, but works as expected Apparently the SSL tunnel isn't even set up, which accounts for the Apache logs being empty. But why does it work fine for IPv6 and fail for IPv4? My question is why is this OpenSSL error being thrown and how can I solve it? Below is some extra information about the setup.     I am using the new Storage Spaces feature in Windows Server 2012. There is plenty of available space in the storage pool. This I cannot understand so I was hoping for some help, on how to resolve this?   • UAC being turned off every time Windows 7 starts

    I have strange problem on my HP laptop. This began to happen recently. Whenever I start my machine, Windows 7 Action Center displays the following warning: You need to restart your computer for UAC to be turned off. I never disable UAC, but obviously some process or virus (I'm not sure, only guessing) causes this. As soon as I get this warning, I head for the UAC settings, and re-enable UAC to dismiss this warning. This is a bothersome situation as I really don't know what causes the problem. I have run a full scan on the computer for any probable virus activity, but TrendMicro OfficeScan said that no viruses have been found. Malwarebytes' Anti-malware could not find any malicious items either. There are no other strange incidents on the machine. Everthing works fine except this bizarre incident. How can I learn what process is trying to turn off UAC? What way should I follow to overcome this problem?

    I'm trying to set up a development environment for a legacy system that runs CentOS 4.8, PHP 4.3.9, and MySQL 4.1.22. I'm matching OS and software versions to keep the development server as close to the production server as possible. My session.save_path is set to: session.save_path = /var/lib/php/session I've since changed the owner and the group of /var/lib/php/session and still have the same error.   • How do I setup an Alias on Apache with XAMPP on Linux ? (Permission problem)

    XAMPP works fine but I want to have http://localhost/f to point to /home/knarf/prog/php/fwyxz. I've chmod -R 777 /home/knarf/prog/php/fwyxz I've added Alias /f /home/knarf/prog/php/fwyxz at the end of the httpd.conf And when I try to access it, I get a 403. From the apache error_log: [error] [client 127.0.0.1] (13)Permission denied: access to /f denied. I've already tried several solutions (userdir and symlinks) but they both failed with the same error. I've also tried to add this after the Alias: <Directory "/home/knarf/prog/php/fwyxz"> Order allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> But again, permission denied. I have been googling around but I haven't found anything.

  • BAD DC transfering FSMO Roles to ADC

    I have a DC (FQDN:server.icmcpk.local) and an ADC (FQDN:file-server.icmcpk.local). Recently my DC is facing a bad sector problem so I changed the Operation Masters to file-server for all five roles. but when ever i turn off the OLD DC the file-server also stops wroking with AD and GPMC further i m also unable to join any other computer to this domain. For Test purpose i also added a new ADC (FQDN:wds-server.icmcpk.local) but no succes with the old DC off i had to turn the old DC on and then joined it. I m attaching the Dcdiags for all three servers.     I;m trying to get WCF Silverlight faults working as per this : MSDN aricle After adding the SL fault to my Web.config file I get the following warning: The element 'behavior' has invalid child element 'silverlightFaults'. List of possible elements expected: 'serviceAuthorization, serviceCredentials, serviceMetadata, serviceSecurityAudit, serviceThrottling, dataContractSerializer, serviceDebug, serviceTimeouts, persistenceProvider, workflowRuntime'. Ignoring the warning doesn't work and my Silverlight application cannot add the WCF service. Any ideas?

Addendum I selected the answer below from Amro because it exactly solves the question I posed. One key discovery for me was the difference between the Unicode Standard and a UTF (Unicode transformation format) (see http://unicode.org/faq/utf_bom.html). The Unicode Standard provides unique identifiers (code points) for characters. UTFs provide mappings of every code point "to a unique byte sequence." Since all but a handful of the characters I am using are in the first 128 code points, I'm going to switch to using UTF-8 as Romeo suggests. UTF-8 is supported by Matlab (The warning shown below won't need to be suppressed.) and Java, and for my application will generate smaller text files. I suppress the Matlab warning Warning: The encoding 'UTF-16LE' is not supported. with warning off MATLAB:iofun:UnsupportedEncoding;

  • PHP5.3 is not working with MySQL5.1 IIS7 Times out

    I have set up PHP5.3, MySQL5.1, and IIS7 on Window 7 but php doesn't want to work with MySQL. I'm assuming it is a configuration error or an incomplete install on my part. MySQL5.1 is working PHP5.3 is working, phpinfo() shows info and that i have enabled MySQL IIS is setup and using fastCgiModule to run PHP IIS registers php.ini updates port 3306 is firewall free and open to the world php.ini is configured correctly I have added c:\php to the Windows systems PATH In the past I remember moving a file, libmysql.dll, to System32 but I doesn't look like that come with php5.3.1, as the driver comes built in now http://us3.php.net/manual/en/mysqlnd.install.php. (This has been giving me so much trouble I have been documenting my findings on my blog as http://inteldesigner.com/2010/code/having-problems-getting-php5-3-to-work-with-mysql5-1 ) NEED: I need to install PHP manually, don't want to use the quick installer or an older version I need to get PHP5.3 to work with MySQL5.1 so i can install Wordpress2.9 and Drupal7a Any links or suggestion would be great, I have already done everything on the iis web site, nothing is working. I'm guessing they have not updated for new software.   • trying to build Boost MPI, but the lib files are not created. What's going on?

    I am trying to run a program with Boost MPI, but the thing is I don't have the .lib. So I try to create one by following the instruction at http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_43_0/doc/html/mpi/getting_started.html#mpi.config The instruction says "For many users using LAM/MPI, MPICH, or OpenMPI, configuration is almost automatic", I got myself OpenMPI in C:\, but I didn't do anything more with it. Do we need to do anything with it? Beside that, another statement from the instruction: "If you don't already have a file user-config.jam in your home directory, copy tools/build/v2/user-config.jam there." Well, I simply do what it says. I got myself "user-config.jam" in C:\boost_1_43_0 along with "using mpi ;" into the file.
