• ProxyPass or intercept web requests .NET

  I have got a .NET winform application that uses a Web Mapping Service that is password protected. Unfortunately I cannot attach a username and password to requests, ( the request are generated from a GIS mapcontrol) I can think of two ways around it Intercept all web requests from my .NET app and add a username/password Set up an Apache webserver and use proxypass to pass along my request adding a username/password Does anyone know how to do either of these?

  I have a flat file source from Excel that has a structure like this: **People** Day1 Day2 Day3 Day4 Person1 someValue ... Person2 Person3 And i would like the package to put this information in a database with standard columns 'Person', 'Day', 'Value'. Does anybody know how to do this - at the moment because the days are going along the top, the package is assuming these are seperate data columns when they are not really and the mapping is not working.

  Occasionally I will know that there is a .NET Framework function that returns a particular type of object, but I can't recall the property or function name. It would be really nice to be able to somehow scan the Framework or other DLL for functions that return a particular type of object. Now I pass an NSError object, like this: NSError *error = nil; BOOL ok = [self validateCompanyName:@"Apple" error:&error]; I'm not sure if this matches the check for not NULL. I think it's not NULL, since I believe NULL is not nil. Maybe someone can clear this up?

  As I understand it, a group-box is just another control. Controls inside it are not owned by it, so unlike in Winforms, if you move a group-box the contained controls stay put. What would be the nicest way to address this? Just create your own data-structure mapping controls to 'container' group-boxes so that when the container is moved the children are automatically moved?

  Hi, I was using Sonar to make my code cleaner, and it pointed that I'm using new Integer(1) instead of Integer.valueOf(1). Because it seems that valueOf does not instantiate a new object so is more memory-friendly. How can valueOf not instantiate a new object ? How does it work ? Is this true for all integers ? thanks.

  This is something I encounter frequently, but I don't know the elegant way of doing. I have a collection of Foo objects. Foo has a method bar() that may return null or a Bar object. I want to scan the collection, calling each object's bar() method and stop on the first one returning an actual reference and return that reference from the scan. Obviously: foos.find(_.bar != null).bar does the trick, but calls #bar twice.
