  • simple interview question

    - by calvin
    Input integer array: a[8] = { a1, a2, a3, a4, b1, b2, b3, b4 } Output array: a[8] = { a1, b1, a2, b2, a3, b3, a4, b4 } Forget all corner cases, make sure your solution works for any int array of size 2n. You can use one or two temp variables for looping or anything, but you shouldn't use any temp arrays/stacks/queues etc to store entire array or part of array. I'm able to get answer in O(n*log n), but I'm looking for better solution.

  • C# - How to prevent fullscreen form covering the taskbar?

    - by Dodi300
    Hello. Does anyone know how I can prevent my C# winform covering/going on top of the taskbar? My form's border style has been set to "FixedToolWindow" which seems to cause this. I thought about reducing the height of the form, when the user makes the form maximized, but that wouldn't work as people may have different size taskbars. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • Client Side pagination with jQuery

    - by TheNone
    I have tried to write a script for pagination contents of an element with jQuery: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ var per_page = 2; var num_item = $('#en1').children().size(); var num_page = Math.ceil(num_item/per_page); $('#current_page').val(0); $('#per_page').val(per_page); var navigation_html = ''; var current = 0; while(num_page > current){ navigation_html += '<a class="page_link" href="javascript:paginate(' + current +')" longdesc="' + current +'">'+ (current + 1) +'</a>'; current++; } $('#page_navigation').html(navigation_html); $('#page_navigation .page_link:first').addClass('active_page'); $('#en1').children().css('display', 'none'); $('#en1').children().slice(0, per_page).css('display', 'block'); }); function paginate(page_num){ var per_page = parseInt($('#per_page').val()); start = page_num * per_page; finish= start + per_page; $('#en1').children().css('display', 'none').slice(start, finish).css('display', 'block'); $('.page_link[longdesc=' + page_num +']').addClass('active_page').siblings('.active_page').removeClass('active_page'); $('#current_page').val(page_num); } </script> http://jsfiddle.net/kqfyL/9/ This script paginate the contents of element by id "en1". I want to paginate 4-5 element (en2, en3, ...). When I insert code inside o document ready in a function, pagination doesnt work: function init(myId){ var ID = document.getElementById("myId"); var per_page = 6; var num_item = $(ID).children().size(); var num_page = Math.ceil(num_item/per_page); $('#current_page').val(0); $('#per_page').val(per_page); var navigation_html = ''; var current = 0; while(num_page > current){ navigation_html += '<a class="page_link" href="javascript:paginate(' + current +')" longdesc="' + current +'">'+ (current + 1) +'</a>'; current++; } $('#page_navigation').html(navigation_html); $('#page_navigation .page_link:first').addClass('active_page'); $('#ID').children().css('display', 'none'); $('#ID').children().slice(0, per_page).css('display', 'block'); } init(en1); What is wrong in init function? Thanks in advance

  • safe dereferencing and deletion

    - by serejko
    Hi, I'm relatively new to C++ and OOP in general and currently trying to make such a class that allows to dereference and delete a dead or invalid pointer without any care of having undefined behavior or program fault in result, and I want to ask you is it a good idea and is there something similar which is already implemented by someone else? or maybe I'm doing something completely wrong? I've just started making it and here is the code I currently have: template<class T> class SafeDeref { public: T& operator *() { hash_set<T*>::iterator it = theStore.find(reinterpret_cast<T*>(ptr)); if (it != theStore.end()) return *this; return theDefaultObject; } T* operator ->() { hash_set<T*>::iterator it = theStore.find(reinterpret_cast<T*>(ptr)); if (it != theStore.end()) return this; return &theDefaultObject; } void* operator new(size_t size) { void* ptr = malloc(size * sizeof(T)); if (ptr != 0) theStore.insert(reinterpret_cast<T*>(ptr)); return ptr; } void operator delete(void* ptr) { hash_set<T*>::iterator it = theStore.find(reinterpret_cast<T*>(ptr)); if (it != theStore.end()) { theStore.erase(it); free(ptr); } } protected: static bool isInStore(T* ptr) { return theStore.find(ptr) != theStore.end(); } private: static T theDefaultObject; static hash_set<T*> theStore; }; The idea is that each class with the safe dereference should be inherited from it like this: class Foo : public SafeDeref<Foo> { void doSomething(); }; So... Any advices? Thanks in advance. P.S. If you're wondering why I need this... well, I'm creating a set of native functions for some scripting environment, and all of them use pointers to internally allocated objects as handles to them and they're able to delete them as well (input data can be wrong), so this is kinda protection from damaging host application's memory And I really sorry for my bad English

  • Cleaning up images in matlab

    - by Taegeuk
    How would you use Matlab to do the following? I've got fuzzy square images about the same size and then inside the fuzzy square there's smaller fuzzy squares, and I want to clean up the larger squares - not the smaller ones - so that they are no longer blurred. It looks like I'd have to make some type of morphological mask, but I'm not sure how in this case.

  • Horizontal scrollbar for textbox

    - by Tim
    Is it possible to add a horizontal scrollbar to a text box that works in all browsers? Currently if the text value is bigger than the size of the text box you have to highlight the text and move cursor to the right to see the rest of the text. I'd like user to have a scrollbar to use instead.

  • [JAVA] Activity Stream- Producing X amount of objects in a panel on app load

    - by Matthew De'Loughry
    Hi guys, Just wondering if you could help wanting to produce an activity stream in Java, the idea was to have a JLabel and text area followed by a divider be displayed on a screen and then repeated X amount of times according to what data was in a database. What I was wondering is how could I possibly repeat the placing the jlabel, text area, and diveder on the screen above the last rendered objects on the fly and all displayed correctly no matter the size of the text area of each set of object sort of like the image below. Hope I made it clear as I could thanks

  • Function to get the font and calculate the width of the string not working on first instance

    - by user3627265
    I'm trying to calculate the width of the string based on the font style and size. The user will provide the string, the font style and the font size, and then after giving all the data the user will hit the submit button and the function will trigger. Basically this script works but only when the submit button is hit twice or the font is selected twice,. I mean if you selec DNBlock as a font, it will not work for first time, but the second time you hit submit, it will then work. I'm not sure where is the problem here, but when I used the default font style like Arial, times new roman etc it works perfectly fine. Any Idea on this? I suspected that the font style is not being rendered by the script or something. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks //Repeat String String.prototype.repeat = function( num ) { return new Array( num + 1 ).join( this ); } //Calculate the width of string String.prototype.textWidth = function() { var fntStyle = document.getElementById("fntStyle").value; if(fntStyle == "1") { var fs = "DNBlock"; } else if(fntStyle == "2") { var fs = "DNBlockDotted"; } else if(fntStyle == "3") { var fs = "DNCursiveClassic"; } else if(fntStyle == "4") { var fs = "DNCursiveDotted"; } else if(fntStyle == "5") { var fs = "FoundationCursiveDots-Regul"; } var f = document.getElementById("fntSize").value.concat('px ', fs), o = $('<div>' + this + '</div>') .css({'position': 'absolute', 'float': 'left', 'white-space': 'nowrap', 'visibility': 'hidden', 'font': f}) .appendTo($('body')), w = o.width(); o.remove(); return w; } //Trigger the event $("#handwriting_gen").submit(function () { var rptNO = parseInt($('#rptNO').val()); $("[name='txtLine[]']").each(function(){ alert(this.value.repeat(rptNO).textWidth()); if(this.value.repeat(rptNO).textWidth() > 1000) { $(this).focus(); $(this).css({"background-color":"#f6d9d4"}).siblings('span.errorMsg').text('Text is too long.'); event.preventDefault(); } }); });

  • Creating Java Dialogs

    - by mike_hornbeck
    What would be the easiest way for creating a dialog: - in one window I'm giving data for envelope addressing, also set font type from list of sizes - when clicked OK, in the same window or in next window I get preview of how the envelope would look like with the given names, and used selected font size It should look similarly to this : Should I use Jdialog ? Or will JOptionPane will be enough ? The next step will be to choose color of font and background so I must keep that in mind.
