• CGContextSetRBStrokeColor to replace, not add, for alpha?

  I use CGContexts to allow the user to draw in my application, here's an example: CGContextSetLineCap(UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(), kCGLineCapRound); CGContextSetLineWidth(UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(), size); CGContextSetRGBStrokeColor(UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(),r,g,b,a); I want the user to have an "eraser" tool that actually erases - it can't draw white (that would add white to the image, which may not have a white background) or alpha (or else the stroke won't do anything). Is there a way to do this? Perhaps replacing contents of a CGContext or UIImage?

• Visualize the depth buffer

  I'm attempting to visualize the depth buffer for debugging purposes, by drawing it on top of the actual rendering when a key is pressed. It's mostly working, but the resulting image appears to be zoomed in. (It's not just the original image, in an odd grayscale) Why is it not the same size as the color buffer? • multiple modules under one solution

  I have a project under which various distributed applications are placed; the whole project is under a single dll. Hence, if any issue occurs we need to re-build the whole application to run or import to our server. I am looking for the best possible way to make the build process faster and also bit worried about the size of the DLL. Is it a good way to have separate dll for all the modules or split the application in multiple projects??? Can, anyone suggest the best way or example to deal with this situation. • Editable QTreeView with expandable cells

  Hi everyone, I tried to write an editable table based on QTreeView with wordwraped content in cells which in turn should expand in height (that whole text was visible) like usual cells in tables like in MSWord, but have met insuperable obstacles: first - i can't set fixed cell size. second - i can't make text display in cells wordwraped. For this i used void QTreeWidget::setItemWidget ( QTreeWidgetItem * item, int column, QWidget * widget ), but it works only for readonly solutions. And i haven't come up with any other idea. Can such behavior of QTreeView be realized? And how to solve those problems of mine? Thanks in advance Serge

Text="{Binding Path=Description}" /> </DataTemplate> My question is, how do I set the Height of the TextBlock in the template so that it automatically assumes ItemsControl.Height div ItemsCount amount of vertical space? When there's only one item, I'd like it to be the full height of container, when there're two, each should be half the size, and so on. If possible, I'd prefer to do this completely in XAML to keep my ViewModel clean of UI logic.

• Carrier Wave not completing upload to Rackspace Cloud Files

  Hello, I have been attempting to get file uploads to Rackspace Cloud Files online all night, and finally tried the Carrierwave Plugin. Although the plugin worked right away, when I tried viewing the file uploaded (an image) it was broken. Upon further testing, I found out that files would upload to Cloud Files, however were just a fraction of their original size. I can't seem to figure out what's worng, and any help would be greatly appreciated. • How to measure sum of collected memory of Young Generation?

  Hi, I'd like to measure memory allocation data from my java application, i.e. the sum of the size of all objects that were allocated. Since object allocation is done in young generation this seems to be the right place. I know jconsole and I know the JMX beans but I just can't find the right variable... Right at the moment we are parsing the gc log output file but that's quite hard. Ideally we'd like to measure it via JMX... How can I get this value? Thanks, Marcel

• merge sort recursion tree height

  Hello! I am learning about recursion tree's and trying to figure out how the height of the tree is log b of n where n = 2 and one has 10 elements as input size. I am working with Merge sort. The number of times the split is done is the height of the tree as far as I understood, and the number of levels in the tree is height + 1. But if you take (for merge sort) log2 of 10 you get 1, where if you draw the tree you get at least 2 times that the recursion occurs. Where have I gone wrong? (I hope I am making sense here) NOTE: I am doing a self study, this is not homework!

• Volatile or synchronized for primitive type?

  In java, assignment is atomic if the size of the variable is less that or equal to 32 bits but is not if more than 32 bits. What(volatile/synchronized) would be more efficient to use in case of double or long assignment. like, volatile double x = y; synchronized is not applicable with primitive argument. How do i use synchronized in this case. Of course I don't want to lock my class. so this should not be used.

• Wireless Connected But No Internet Connection (Ubuntu 12.04)

  I am using same network for 2 days and everything was normal. However, today even though it shows me as connected to the network, I do not have internet connection. If I use ethernet cable instead of wireless, I am still able to connect to the internet. Also my friends are able to connect to the wireless network and they can get internet connection. I did not update or install anything since yesterday. Therefore I do not have any idea why it is happening.   I just noticed that if you give a html button a fixed width, the text inside the button is never wrapped. I've tried it with word-wrap, but that cuts of the word even though there are spaces available to wrap on. Like if I want to fopen it or get the size of the file or something like that.   We have a Makefile which runs on a Windows 2003 machine and we are using mingw32-make for it. Since the Makefile has many include paths, it exceeds the buffer size of 8K that the cmd can handle [Ref - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830473/EN-US/due to which the compilation results in "input line too long" issue. I wanted to know the following - What would be the best way to optimize the Makefile as I have already removed unwanted compiler switches, include paths etc. Is there any way we can put all the INCLUDE paths in one .txt file and import it in the Makefile.I could not find any mingw32 documentation for the same. What I'd like to achieve now is two columns inside the content div. A left one of 200px and a right one that takes up the rest of the width. Unfortunately, I can't get the left and right divs to display correctly: they just don't grow vertically, and if I make the right div "width: 100%" it positions itself underneath the left one.   Hello. I am working for an intranet application. Therefore I have some control on the client machines. The Java Script library I am using is somewhat big in size. I would like to pre-install OR pre-load OR cache the Java Script library on each machine (each browser as well) so that it does not travel for each request. I know that browsers do cache a Java Script library for subsequent requests but I would like the library to be cached once so all subsequent requests, sessions and users. What is the best mechanism to achieve this?

• How to get CEdit to scroll properly?

  I have a CEdit control that's used to display a diagnostics output. Sometimes the data overflows the screen size, so naturally I set the Vertical Scroll property to true (MFC dialog editor). But then, when I tried to scroll the text that was in the window before isn't cleared and the new text is written over it. The result is a big mess of everything I have scrolled past. I've looked for a draw background property or something similar that will erase everything in the window while scrolling (before redrawing the new data). Any suggestions?

A word in our case is 4 bytes, or 32 bits. So our 5 byte buffer is really going to take 8 bytes (2 words) of memory, and our 10 byte buffer is going to take 12 bytes (3 words) of memory. That is why SP is being subtracted by 20. Why it's not ceil((5+10)/4)*4=16?

  Hi! Im trying to implement a progressive download audio player for the iphone, ie using http and fixed size mp3-files. I found the AudioStreamer project but it seems very complicated and works best with endless streams. I need to be able to find out the total length of audiofiles and I also need to be able to seek in the files. I found a hacked deviation from AudioStreamer but it doesnt seem to work very well for me. http://www.saygoodnight.com/?p=14 Im wondering if there is a more simple way to achieve my goals or if there are some better working samples out there?
