  I have a website for which one month stat shows: Unique Visitors 6274 Total Visitors 7260 Pages visited 9520 Hits 88891 Whats concerns me about is the HTTP status code: 302 Moved temporarily (redirect) 36302 How come 40% hits are being redirected. But what about identifying someone who has the potential to become a programmer, with little or no knowledge? Aside from the obvious things to look for (smart, gets things done), are there any interview questions and/or tests to determine whether one has the potential to become a programmer?   I would like to ask if there is any good program for ubuntu 12.04 to organize a library of books.I have to mention that I have books written on my native language (Greek) and I have books written in other languages like English,French,etc....So basically I need an application which can fetch information from databases for Greek books.For example add a Greek (ISBN) book database source and when I type the ISBN of the book in the program to find the book from that database/es.Do you know if this is possible?I have already tried Tellico and GCstar but they were unable to find books with Greek ISBN.I tried to add a Greek book source but my wasn't successful.

• Final Year Project Advice: what impact on my CV [closed]

  I am being offered - as a final year project - to do a Company Website. This is basically an out-house project and I am not completely sure whether I should take it. The requirements are : Company Information User Registration Order placements. The technologies that I should use are PHP, Javascript, HTML, CSS and maybe Java Servlets. This appears to me a very basic project and I need an opinion as to what effect it might have on my CV. Is it worth to do it? Or should I go into some research project or something that has not been done before?

• HTML5 clicking objects in canvas

  I have a function in my JS that gets the user's mouse click on the canvas. Now lets say I have a random shape on my canvas (really its a PNG image which is rectangular) but i don't want to include any alpha space. My issue lies with lets say i click some where and it involves a pixel of one of the images. The first issue is how do you work out the pixel location is an object on the map (and not the grass tiles behind). Secondly if i clicked said image, if each image contains its own unique information how do you process the click to load the correct data. Note I don't use libraries I personally prefer the raw method. Relying on libraries doesn't teach me much I find.

  Java Runtime Environment 7u10 (a.k.a. JRE 1.7.0_10 build 18) and later updates on the JRE 7 codeline are now certified with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i and 12 Windows-based desktop clients. What do you need to do and where are the official patch requirements? • How to control fan speed and temperatures on Asus A8Js laptop?

  I have tried installing asusfan and lm-sensors but I'm unable to control my fans to cool my laptop down sufficiently. Currently it overheats at about 100 degrees celsius and my sensors output somehow does not have any fan information on it: jackson@OLYMPIA:~$ sensors acpitz-virtual-0 Adapter: Virtual device temp1: +69.0°C (crit = +110.0°C) coretemp-isa-0000 Adapter: ISA adapter Core 0: +66.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) coretemp-isa-0001 Adapter: ISA adapter Core 1: +66.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) I have checked my bios and there isn't any fan settings there. I can consistently overheat just by converting a video via Handbrake. I have ubuntu-desktop installed for a GUI. Is there a way for me to control my fans to start spinning before it reaches a critical temperature and kills itself?

  E-Business Suite 11.5.10 Sustaining Support Exception & 12.1 Extended Support Now to Dec. 2018 [ID 1495337.1] As part of Oracle’s continued commitment to our customers, we will be providing an exception for the first 13 months of Sustaining Support on Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11.5.10 (11i10), valid from December 1, 2013 – December 31, 2014. This exception support will be comprised of three components: (1) new fixes for Severity 1 production issues, (2) United States Form 1099 2013 year-end updates, and (3) payroll regulatory updates for the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia for fiscal years ending in 2014.  In addition, the Extended Support period for E-Business Suite Release 12.1 has been extended through December, 2018. Customers with an active Oracle Premier Support for Software contract will automatically be entitled to Extended Support deliverables for E-Business Suite 12.1. Please refer to the Lifetime Support section of oracle.com for further information regarding Oracle's Lifetime Support Policy for Applications. • I'm getting a black screen right after Install Ubuntu option on GRUB menu. Any ideas?

  I've formatted my USB and remade the live USB twice. I tried editing editing the commands (pressing the 'e' key while the command was highlighted on the GRUB menu) by 1. deleting quiet splash and replacing it with nomodeset 2. adding nomodeset right before quiet splash 3. deleting quiet splash and adding radeon.modeset=0 I saw another solution for a fix by editing GRUB but in command line 'sudo' 'nano' and 'update-grub' all show up as unknown commands. I'm brand new to Ubuntu, in case you couldn't tell. I would appreciate any help you could give me. I want to convince my brother that Ubuntu is a better option than iOS but I can't do that if I can't install it. If you need more information, please ask. I'm not dual booting. I want this to be a full install. Thanks.

Our goal is to provide a single-online support portal so that all My Oracle Support users can benefit from the same features and functionality. Prior to July 13, 2012, users of Oracle On Demand, Oracle CRM On Demand, Taleo, and Oracle Configuration Manager should continue accessing the My Oracle Support Flash-based user interface. After July 13, 2012, the above features and functionality to support these users will be available on the HTML interface. All other users of My Oracle Support can make the switch now. • When designing a job queue, what should determine the scope of a job?

  We've got a job queue system that'll cheerfully process any kind of job given to it. We intend to use it to process jobs that each contain 2 tasks: Job (Pass information from one server to another) Fetch task (get the data, slowly) Send task (send the data, comparatively quickly) The difficulty we're having is that we don't know whether to break the tasks into separate jobs, or process the job in one go. Are there any best practices or useful references on this subject? Is there some obvious benefit to a method that we're missing? So far we can see these benefits for each method: Split Job lease length reflects job length: Rather than total of two Finer granularity on recovery: If we lose outgoing connectivity we can tell them all to retry The starting state of the second task is saved to job history: Helps with debugging (although similar logging could be added in single task method) Single Single job to be scheduled: Less processing overhead Data not stale on recovery: If the outgoing downtime is quite long, the pending Send jobs could be outdated

• Why do I get "No root file system is defined" when I try install in one partition?

  The thing is that I have 3 partitions on my computer. /dev/sda1 Type: ntfs (size 104MB; 35MB in use) [This is Windows Loader] /dev/sda2 Type: ntfs (size 144598MB; 64536MB in use) [Here I want to install UBUNTU] /dev/sda3 Type: ntfs (size 105353MB; 20227MB in use) [This my backup partition I don't wan't to delete anything from here, I have all my necessary information] So the problem is when I select "Device for boot loader installation" "/dev/sda2" Pops out: "No root file system is defined. Please correct this from the partitioning menu." How can I resolve this? :)

• Finding inspiration / help for making up (weapon) names

  I'm really bad with words, especially with English words. Currently I'm struggling to make a good weapon names for my game, it needs to display the weapon functionality (weak/strong/fast/ballistic etc) correctly as well. For example the best weapon in a (futuristic) game cannot be called just with the name "Laser", it's just too boring, right? Are there any tools, websites or anything that helps me finding good names for weapons? (or anything else similar). I was thinking to use scientific names, but noticed that they are really hard to write, and they get very long, and I also lack information about science, I only know I could use the atomic sub-particles names in the weapons for example. How do I get started with becoming good with making up names? (this could apply in generally to any naming problems).

• How do I create and link to a database in ASP.NET (Razor) with Visual studio 2013?

  We have a simple web app, part of which allows users to create accounts and then, hopefully soon, to write blog posts. The user log in system is working great, it utilizes the given .sdf database created when a new project is created. We would like to expand it now to allow for blog data (the title, body of the blog, image posts perhaps, etc). However, I'm unsure of how to add another table to the user database for this purpose - or if that would even be best since it has sensitive information in it. I've been reading blog post after blog post and still can't find anything current on this. All of the articles are for MVC projects or older versions of VS. If someone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated!

• Numlock doesn't work after logging in

  I've a strange problem after upgrading to Ubuntu 11.10 The Numlock of my Apple Keyboard (white, wired) doesn't work anymore. Strange thing because it works with the guest account but not with my user account. I did change the lightdm.conf to get the numlock working for the login and it works, but nor in my user account. Even stranger, pushing zero effects a right click? I also tried different keyboard layouts, but it shows Numlock on (stuck on) but doesn't work. Any idea which config file stores information about this?

  I remember hearing within the last year or two about a content management system either being released or developed that was centralized around product/item information. I'm aware that there are several CMSes that have this capability, but this particular one was built specifically for that task. Also, I remember it winning some sort of award or recognition for upcoming software products. However, I can't for the life of me remember what this CMS was called or who was developing it. Does anyone know what package I'm talking about?
