  I have Organisation with a foreign key to a Manager. Managers can be active, or inactive. On the Dynamic Data edit page for Organisation, I need to filter the dropdown for Manager to only show active records. I started out by making a custom version of DynamicData\FieldTemplates\ForeignKey_Edit.ascx and setting a UIHint to the new field template on Organisation.Manager. • WCF Webservices and FaultContract - Client's receiving SoapExc insted of FaultException<TDetails>

  Hi All, i'm developing a WCF Webservice and consuming it within a mvc2 application. My problem is that i'm using FaultContracts on my methods with a custom FaultDetail and i'm throwing manyally the faultexception but when the client receive the exception , it receives a normal SoapException instead of my FaultException that i throwed from the service side. Here is some code: Custom Fault Detail Class: [DataContract] public class MyFaultDetails { [DataMember] public string Message { get; set; } } Operation on service contract: [OperationContract] [FaultContract(typeof(MyFaultDetails))] void ThrowException(); Implementation: public void ThrowException() { var details = new MyFaultDetails { Message = "Exception Test" }; throw new FaultException<MyFaultDetails >(details , new FaultReason(details .Message), new FaultCode("MyFault")); } Client side: try { // Obv proxy init etc.. service.ThrowException(); } catch (FaultException<MyFaultDetails> ex) { // stuff } catch (Exception ex) { // stuff } What i expect is to catch the FaultException , instead that catch is skipped and the next catch is taken with an exception of type SoapException. Am i missing something ? i red a lot of threads about using faultcontracts within wcf and what i did seems to be good.   Hi, I'm currently evaluating Selenium and I can imagine that I will have to perform certain steps in my tests over and over again. Is there any way to wrap several steps from a selenium test into one single step which can be referenced by other tests? It seems that this can be done with with custom coding as mentioned at in the UI-Element documentation, but I'd prefer to use the IDE if possible. Thanks, Adrian

  I am using CC.Net with MSBuild tasks to build an application that is composed of a number of solutions and projects. We are using the AssemblyInfo MSBuild Community task to update version info in AssemblyInfo.cs. Unfortunately the AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers attribute doesn't get in and the AssemblyInfo task tells me that the AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers attribute is not supported by the task. Is there any way to add that attribute through MSBuild without having to resort to a custom task that just tacks the line at the end of the file after-the-fact?

So far I looked at the Knopflerfish documentation (Link 1, Link 2) to get an idea of how much of the Core and Compendium specs are actually implemented. The core specification seems to be fully implemented, although there are some inconsistent statements about the Security Layer and the Declarative Services. One example is the UPnP package: Does this mean that missing parts which are not directly implemented by Knopflerfish are added through the "original" OSGi framework? And does this also apply to other frameworks like Felix or Equinox?

  I was serving html referencing svg files in Cassini, and having problems since the mime type was not being sent properly. I ended up writing my own port of Cassini that set the extension based on mime type. After a good night of sleep I realized that there might be some sort of registry key or config file where I can configure custom mime types for SimpleWorkerRequest, the .NET class that serves content through Casinni. However, I don't know what that is.

• UITableView having one Cell with multiple UITextFields (some of them in one row) scrolling crazy

  I have a UITableView (grouped). In that tableview I have several UITableViewCells, some custom with nib, some default. One Cell (custom) with nib has several UITextfields for address information, thus also one row has zip-code and city in one row. When I get the keyboard the tableview size seems to be adjusted automatically (vs. another viewController in the app with just a scrollview where I had to code this functionality on my own) so that i can scroll to the bottom of my tableview (and see it) even though the keyboard is up. That's good. BUT when I click on a textfield the tableview gets either scrolled up, or down, I can't figure out the logic. It seems to be rather random up/down scrolling / contentOffset setting. So I have bound the Editing Did Begin events of the textfields to a function that has this code. - (IBAction)textFieldDidBeginEditing:(UITextField *)textField { CGPoint pt; CGRect rc = [textField bounds]; rc = [textField convertRect:rc toView:self.tableView]; pt = rc.origin; pt.x = 0; [self.tableView setContentOffset:pt animated:YES]; ... } This, well, it seems to work most of the time, BUT it doesn't work if I click the first textfield (the view jumps so that the second row gets to the top and the first row is out of the current visible view frame) AND it also doesn't work if I first select the zip textfield and next the city textfield (both in one row) or vice versa. If I do so, the tableview seems to jump to the (grouped tableview) top of my viewForHeaderInSection(this section with this mentioned cell with all my textfields) What is is going on ? Why is this happening ? How to fix this ? Edit This on the other hand behaves as expected (for the two Textviews wit same origin.y) if (self.tableView.contentOffset.y == pt.y) { pt.y = pt.y + 1; [self.tableView setContentOffset:pt animated:YES]; }else { [self.tableView setContentOffset:pt animated:YES]; } But this is a stupid solution. I wouldn't like to keep it that way. And this also doesn't fix the wrong jumping, when clicking the first textfield at first.

• Can't ssh to ec2 permission denied (publickey)

  I have existing instances running and I can connect to them fine. Even if I start a new instance from one of my saved ami's I can connect to it fine but any new public or community ami (I've tried 2 offical Ubuntu ami's and 1 Fedora quickstart ami) I get permission denied (publickey). The permissions are good on my key file. I've also tried creating a new keyfile. My ec2 firewall rules are good, I've also tried creating a new group. • Eclipse RCP: Using different JUnit version (4.3.1) than shipped with eclipse galileo (4.5.0)

  Hallo, I have the following situation: We are developing an Eclipse RCP Application and want to switch from Eclipse 3.4 to Eclipse 3.5. Our JUnit-Tests are using JUnit 4.3.1 and we have a launch configuration to start our test suite. I think I don't need to go into more details here. The problem is: Running the tests with Eclipse 3.5 does not work: JUnit cannot find any annotations in the test classes (neither (at)Test nor (at)RunWith). I patched the junit library with some logging output to check what is going on. I found out that this problem is a classloading issue: The test class passed to JUnit 'lies in' a ClassLoader which is different from the one JUnit uses to load the annotation classes like 'RunWith'. This is not the case in Eclipse 3.4 in org.junit.internal.requests.ClassRequest: public Runner getRunner() { log("TestClass ClassLoader: "+this.fTestClass.getClassLoader()); log("RunWith.class ClassLoader: "+RunWith.class.getClassLoader()); ... // validating test class: searching for annotations and more } The first line prints another classloader than the second line. This is bad because JUnit cannot match the annotations in the test class with the Annotation-Class (here: RunWith.class): "RunWith" in CL1 is not equal to "RunWith" in CL2. I have a solution which points to the core problem: Replace JUnit 4.5 in Eclipse Galileo with JUnit 4.3.1 so that there is only one JUnit-Version: The Test-Run and the tests classes are both using JUnit 4.3.1 (I had to patch "org.eclipse.jdt.junit4.runtime" to accept an ealier junit version). I think I can also replace JUnit 4.3.1 in my test class with Version 4.5, but that is not an option yet. Guess: The classloaders are different because the classes 'come from' different JUnit-Bundles: the testclass with its annotations from version 4.3.1 and the test runs in version 4.5 What I want to know: Is there any other solution besides patching Eclipse (replace JUnit versions)? Any commandline argument or such? Any configuration to force Eclipse to Use JUnit 4.3.1? Any hints on the above described analysis are welcome!

• Property being immediately reset by ApplicationSetting Property Binding

  I have a .net 2.0 windows application written in c#, which currently uses several project settings to store user configurations. The forms in the application are made up of lots of user controls, each of which have properties that need to be set to these project settings. Right now these settings are manually assigned to the user control properties. I was hoping to simplify the code by replacing the manual implementation with ApplicationSettings Property Bindings. However, my first property is not behaving properly at all. The setting is an integer, used to record a port number typed into a text box. The setting is bound to an integer property on a user control, and that property sets the Text property on a TextBox control. When I type a new value into the textbox at runtime, as soon as the textbox loses focus, it is immediately replaced by the original value. A breakpoint on the property shows that it is immediately setting the property to the setting from the properties collection after I set it. Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong?   Hey, I have experience with MSBuild and Hudson, but am new to MSDeploy. I currently have a simple solution with one web application project. I set up a build configuration and am using the "Publish" command (Visual Studio 2010) to simply copy files to a local folder and do config file replacement. What I would like to do is automate this using Hudson. So I figure I'll create an MSBuild script that will Perform the build (by calling out to the project file with my desired build configuration) Call MSDeploy to do all the same things that the "Publish" command is doing, except copy the files to a different folder. Configure Hudson to poll subversion and perform steps 1 & 2 when changes are detected Step 2 is where I'm getting lost. I assumed that the project.xml file that was created by VS2010 corresponded to -verb:sync -source:manifest=project.xml options, but msdeploy is choking on that xml file so clearly that's not what it's intended for. What command is Visual Studio executing under the covers to perform the config file replacement and the file copy? How do I automate the Publish command?

• Using Entity Framework with an SQL Compact Private Installation

  I am using Entity Framework 4 in a desktop application with SQL Compact. I want to use a private installation of SQL Compact with my application, so that my installer can install SQL Compact without giving the user a second installation to do. It also avoids versioning hassles down the road. My development machine has SQL Compact 3.5 SP1 installed as a public installation, so my app runs fine there, as one would expect. But it's not running on my test machine, which does not have SQL Compact installed. I get this error: The specified store provider cannot be found in the configuration, or is not valid. I know some people have had difficulty with SQL Compact private installations, but I have used them for a while, and I really like them. Unfortunately, my regular private installation approach isn't working. I have checked the version numbers on my SQL CE files, and they are all 3.8.8078.0, which is the SP2 RC version. Am I missing a configuration stepp needed to tell Entity Framework where to find my SQL Compact DLLs? Any other suggestions why EF isn't finding my SQL Compact DLLs on the installation machine?   I have been using Windows 7 for a while but have not had to work with a particular legacy intranet application since my upgrade. Unfortunately, this application is setup as an ASP.NET Website project hosted on a remote server. When I have the website open in Visual Studio 2008 and try to debug it I get the following compiler error: Request for the permission of type 'System.Web.AspNetHostingPermission' failed To resolve this issue on Windows Vista machines, I would change the machine's .NET Security Configuration trust level to full for the local intranet (fix outlined here). I believe this configuration utility relied upon the mscorcfg.msc which from some cursory research appears to be apart of the .NET 2.0 SDK. I have tried to follow the instructions from this Microsoft Support article running the command below to no avail. • Why does a user have to enter "Profile" data to enter data into other tables?

  EDIT It appears the user has to enter some data for his profile, otherwise I get this error below. I guess if there is no profile data, the user can not continue to enter data in other tables by default? I do not want to make entering user profile data a requirement to use the rest of the sites functionality, how can I get around this? Currently I have been testing everything with the same user and everything has been working fine. However, when I created a new user for the very first time and tried to enter data into my custom table, I get the following error. The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_UserData_aspnet_Profile". The conflict occurred in database "C:\ISTATE\APP_DATA\ASPNETDB.MDF", table "dbo.aspnet_Profile", column 'UserId'. The statement has been terminated. Not sure why I am getting this error. I have the user controls set up in ASP.NET 3.5 however all I am using is my own table or at least that I am aware of. I have a custom UserData table that includes the columns: id, UserProfileID, CL, LL, SL, DateTime (id is the auto incremented int) The intent is that all users will add their data in this table and as I mentioned above it has been working fine for my original first user I created. However, when i created a new user I am getting this problem. • Locking sharepoint list item

  I have a sharepoint custom list which has 5 columns ..the user should fill in first three columns and the other two should be locked..when the user enters the items and start the workflow if the workflow gets approved the 3 columns should be locked for editing and then the other two should be available for editing . • Axis2 webservice (aar archive) properties file

  Hi there, guys. I'm currently developing a set of SOAP webservices over Axis2, deployed over a clustered WebLogic 10.3.2 environment. My webservices use some user settings that I want to be editable without the need for recompiling and regenerating the AAR archive. With this in mind, I chose to put them into a properties file that is loaded and consumed in runtime. Unfortunately, I'm having some questions about this: As far as I know, to achieve what I want, the only option is to put the properties file into the ../axis2/WEB-INF/classes directory of each one of the deployments (on each WebLogic instance) I currently have on my clustered configuration, and then load the file, as follows (or equivalent, this has not been verified for optimization): InputStreamReader fMainProp = new InputStreamReader(this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("myfile.properties")); Properties mainProp = new Properties(); mainProp.load(fMainProp); This is not as practical as I wanted it to be, because each time I want to alter some setting on the properties file, I have to edit each one of the files (deployed over different WebLogic instances) and there is a high probability of modifying one of these files without modifying the others. What I would like to know is if there is any (better) alternative to accomplish what I want, minimizing the potential conflict of configuration that is created by distributing and replicating the properties file through multiple WebLogic instances.
