• prevent multiple login with same login credentials in php

  My website has premium videos, for which users have to pay to watch it. I am sending a random user name and password to the user's email id when the payment is completed. Then I want to assure no more than one user use that login credentials simultaneously. For that I use a login_status column in database table with login credentials and change it to 1 when one user login and change to 0 when user log out. But the problem is, if the user close browser or network connection loss may happened will not update database. Then login_will be 1 undefinitely and no one can use that login credentials again. Is there any idea to accomplish my task?

• Unkillable console windows

  I'm developing an OpenGL based 2d simulation with GLUT under Visual C++ 2008, sometimes when I have an assert() or unhandled exception and break into the debugger, the GLUT display window closes, but the console window remains open.They just cant be killed!!! They do not show up with Task manager, Process Explorer or any other tool, I cannot find the window handle using the Spy++ tool either. Worst thing is they prevent my system (Windows XP) from shutting down, I have to manually poweroff (and of course I have to run chkdsk on my drives and invariably it finds and fixes minor errors after bad shutdowns) Has anyone come across such an issue?

The topic is about configuration management and version control system for an industrial product (such as a piece of software, a furniture design, a car engine or even an aeroplane design etc...) 1.) • Critiquing my first Python script

  A little bit of background: I'm building an inverted index for a search engine. I was originally using PHP, but because of the amount of times I needed to write to disk, I wanted to make a threaded indexer. There's a problem with that because PHP is not thread safe. I then tried Java, but I ended up with at least 20 try catch blocks because of the JSON data structure I was using and working with files. The code was just too big and ugly. Then I figured I should pick up some Python because it's flexible like PHP but also thread safe. Though I'm open to all criticism, what I'd like to learn is the shortcuts that the Python language/library provides that I skipped over. • Converting app to MVC and running it in both console and gui

  I have a simple java gui calculator, with 3 number systems (there are some bugs but that doesn't matter now). Currently all code is in one file. My task is to rewrite it as MVC, and add possibility to run it in either gui or console mode. How should I divide this program to organise it as M-V-C ? Is it written properly enough to add console functionality to it? (guess I'll have to change all methods invoking to JLabel Output to something simply storing an output String as a model argument and then having View to get it). • Reference Error for property of Javascript Object

  I have built an object in Javascript on the Google Apps Script engine and every time I run my script I get a reference error saying uName is not defined. • Checking that all libs and dlls are from the same build?

  I am developing a program in VS C++ 2008. Right now, I have a huge list of dll and lib dependencies and I am adding some more. I worry that when I need to update a dependency by building from source (where I have to manually replace built dlls and libs in the correct place), if I accidently forgot to replace something or vice versa, I may run into a compile and/or runtime problem. And finding which place goes wrong can be a bit difficult. So is there some sort of program or method out there that can suit this task to ease building a program with many updating dependencies?

• IAR Embedded Workbench MSP430 and *.lib files linking

  I was assuming that it was a really simple task but I did not find anything relevant or my mistake. So putting my problem here i.e. I have some project for MSP430 which is actually in code composer studio. I have to run this whole code into IAR embedded workbench now. There are some library files(*.lib) that are also provided with the project and that should have to be linked to build the project. After little modifications code is compiling fine but I am unable to link the libraries and getting linker errors. I worked on IAR with avr but very very little just to test some sample codes. I did not find the option where to mention these library names and their respective paths. I checked out the linker tab but I am not getting any clue to link these .lib files with project.

  Hello everyone! First time using this service for a question. I hope I am not asking something that has already been answered. I attempted to find an answer to my question with the search engine but i was unable to. My question is as follows: Using php, javascript, or anything actually, is it possible for me to track how my users are viewing the pages on my blog/website? Specifically, I want to track the time the user's browser spends reading specific sections of my content on the same page. For example, it would answer questions such as: How much time did someone spend reading the introduction to my article vs the conclusion? (located on the same page) Basically, tracking the "eyes" of a web visitor by looking at where the browser is currently scrolled down the page too. I'm sorry if i'm a bit noob! • why can't I comment lines in visual mode

  I want to comment several lines in my .vimrc, the usual way I do it is :x,ys/^/"/ and x stands for the start line number and y stands for the line number of the last line. I read some post which said in visual mode this task can be done by the following step: 1 Select your lines with VISUAL BLOCK 2 press I to insert before all highlighted lines. 3 type your comment charact , in this case should be " 4 then ESC I fllowed the above steps and met met problems in step 2 . the thing is when I select the lines in Visual mode and press I , vim ( I use version7.2) go back to insert mode and the cursor back to the start of the first line. so if you continue to do the step 3 and step 4, you end up in just inserting " at the start the first line , far from what I want to achieve. so could you point out what's wrong with the recipe ? thanks in advance

• Unit testing "hybrid" WPF/Silverlight controls

  I'm starting a new WPF/Silverlight custom control project and wanted to do unit testing on this one. However I'm a little confused about how to approach this. This control would be based on the same codebase for both WPF and Silverlight with minor forking using #ifs and partial classes to tame the differences. I guess I could write unit tests for WPF part with NUnit, MSTest, xUnit, etc. and for the Silverlight part with Silverlight Unit Test Framework but this doesn't sound very elegant to me. I'd have to either ignore testing identical code on one of the platforms and test only differing parts (which is not very trustworthy) or rewrite tests for 2 frameworks (which is annoying). Is this the right way to go? I'm wondering if there's some guidance, articles, tutorials out there on how to approach this task. Any pointers?

  Hey. I would like to upload a file and then parse it. Because parsing can take up to 10min I installed delayed_job plugin and called parsing function through send_later function. I have to mention that this is an AJAX app. Imagine that you press an AJAX button that starts upload and after that the source is imported into the database. During the process I want to show the progress bar or message (importing...) and when it completes the task status changes to done. My question is: What is the best way to check for status of the process. What would you do? My idea is to have another controller actions "status" which look into the database and provide the right status.

• Using boost::asio::async_read with stdin?

  hi poeple.. short question: I have a realtime-simulation which is running as a backround process and is connected with pipes to the calling pogramm. I want to send commands to that process using stdin to get certain information from it via stdout. Now because it is a real-time process, it has to be a non blocking input. Is boost::asio::async_read in conjunction with iostream::cin a good idea for this task? how would I use that function if it is feasible? Any more suggestions?

• Handling inverse kinematics: animation blending or math?

  I've been working for the past four days on inverse kinematics for my game engine. I'm working on a game with a shoestring budget so when the idea of inverse kinematics came up I knew I had to make it such that the 3D models bones would be mathematically changed to appear to be stepping on objects. This is causing some serious problems with my animation, after it was technically implemented the animations started looking quite bad when the character was wlaking up inclines or steps even though mathematically the stepping was correct and was even smoothly interpolating. So I was wondering, is it actually possible to get a smooth efficient inverse kinematic system based exclusively on math where bones are changed or is this just a wild goose chase and I should either solve the inverse kinematics problem with animation blending or don't do it at all?

• Delete or comment out non-working JUnit tests?

  I'm currently building a CI build script for a legacy application. There are sporadic JUnit tests available and I will be integrating a JUnit execution of all tests into the CI build. However, I'm wondering what to do with the 100'ish failures I'm encountering in the non-maintained JUnit tests. Do I: 1) Comment them out as they appear to have reasonable, if unmaintained, business logic in them in the hopes that someone eventually uncomments them and fixes them 2) Delete them as its unlikely that anyone will fix them and the commented out code will only be ignored or be clutter for evermore 3) Track down those who have left this mess in my hands and whack them over the heads with the printouts of the code (which due to long-method smell will be sufficently suited to the task) while preaching the benefits of a well maintained and unit tested code base

  I am wanting to change the text background color on a tableview's cell when it is hovered upon, similar to how AddressBook "highlights" the label of a contact's element when you mouseover the label names. However I cannot figure out how to accomplish... detecting a mouseover on a particular NSCell and... After detecting the cell his hovered upon, highlighting the text in that cell (not highlighting the entire row as if the user selected that row) As NSCell is not a subclass of NSView this seems to be a very difficult task.   I know that the job would be simpler if I use Google Plugin for Eclipse. However, in my situation, I heavily adapted Maven and thus, the plugin cannot suit me. (In fact, it gave me the whole week of headache). Rather, I relied on a ant script that I learned from http://code.google.com/webtoolkit/doc/latest/tutorial/appengine.html The document was very clear; I follow the article and successfully invoked DevMode using ant devmode. However, the document didn't tell me about debugging GWT (like Google Plugin for Eclipse can do). Basically, I want to add some parameter to an ant task that expose a debug port (something like (com.google.gwt.dev.DevMode at localhost:58807)) so that I can connect my eclipse to. How can I do that?
