• Removing the email validation requirement - Login Toboggan

  I'm building a premium membership site where a visitor can purchase a role and gain access to the privileged content using ubercart. I've got all that working fine, but the last tiny snag that my client wants to remove is to remove the validation email requirement that's fired when someone signs up on the site in Login Toboggan (6.1.9). I've got nothing set that is forcing this extra step and I've come to believe that this may be a feature in Drupal (acquia distro 6.22) core for any user that registers. I was hoping that this module (login toboggan) would eliminate that step but I've not as of yet been able to do so. I can allow the newly registered user access by setting that in the module, but the notification and validation email requirement still remains. Can anyone recommend a way around this? I just want them to be able to come to the site purchase their membership without any validation/confirmation email. Is this possible? Thanks - Rob

• Visual Studio 2008 Solution Explorer Randomly Expands Folders

  VS 2008 is randomly opening sub-folders for me. Sometimes just a few, sometimes every sub-folder in my project or solution. This happens even when I am not using it - last night when I knoocked off, my solution explorer was closed up tight - this morning, one large project had dozens of sub-folders open. This is not a matter of restoring a previously saved state - most of the folders that get opened are not part of the project, and I have never looked at them with VS. I have downloaded and installed the PowerCommands add-in, and it lets me collapse everything nicely. But I don't want to have to do this several times per day - it closes up folders that I want to be open as well. So, does anyone know why this happens and how to stop it? I found this question from a few months ago which is about the same as this one, but was not answered. I am hoping someone has figured out a solution.

  Anyone has a ready implementation of the Reverse Breath First Search algorithm in C#? By Reverse Breath First Search, I mean instead of searching a tree starting from a common node, I want to search the tree from the bottom and gradually converged to a common node. Let's see the below figure, this is the output of a Breath First Search: In my reverse breath first search, 9,10,11 and 12 will be the first few nodes found ( the order of them are not important as they are all first order). 5, 6, 7 and 8 are the second few nodes found, and so on. 1 would be the last node found. Any ideas or pointers?

• Does the number of busy worker threads in the CLR ThreadPool affect performance of I/O threads?

  We have a Windows Service which hosts a number of WCF services and, in an unrelated part of the app, makes extensive use of the TPL Task class to asynchronously do relatively short bits of work. It is my understanding that WCF uses managed I/O threads from the ThreadPool to execute requests. I noticed that after deploying a feature which significantly raised the applications use of Tasks, and as such the use of ThreadPool worker threads as well, performance of a couple of web services has become very slow. We're talking minutes instead of less than a second. The number of Tasks actually trying to run at any one time can range between 20 and 1000, which makes me think that any new (last in) work needing some CPU time could be forced to wait for quite some time. Does the (in my case extremely large) number of busy ThreadPool worker threads affect the ThreadPool's managed I/O threads? Or could these two be connected in any way? Thanks!

• Expandable listview with selectall checkbox : group itemclick and scrolling bug

  I have an ExpandableListView with a checkbox next to group name and when expanded, child items with checkbox as well. Let's suppose I have 4 groups with 50 childs. When a group is expanded, and I click on select all checkbox, everything works fine, all checkbox are selected and keep their state if I scroll. But if I scroll untill the last child of the list, scrolling gets buggy after that ( scrolling to the top and then touching the screen to stop the scrolling doesn't work anymore), clicking on group doesn't work anymore too, untill I click on selectall checkbox again. Clicking on a child checkbox does nothing, I must click on selectall checkbox for everything to work. I changed Focusable state of the child checkbox, group checkbox and tried many ways, but I can not find a solution to this. Do you have an idea of where it is coming from?

• Getting a value from a row at particular time

  I had a row in my database: starttime:4/6/2012 2:00pm, Endtime:31/12/9999, name:"swetha", status:"open"..... When I update this row I changed the starttime to the current time (getdate()) and have no issues. I am running a Windows Service each day at 1am to modify a value in the row. I would like to know the status of my row at 4/6/2012 11:59 pm when my service runs. There is no need to do an update at 4/6/2012 11:59 pm and the last update may be at any time of the day however my requirement is to get the status value at 4/6/2012 11:59 pm. I would like to have the query in SQL Server 2008. Can anyone please help me to find a solution?

• Android - LinearLayout Horizontal with wrapping children

  Is there a property to set for Android's LinearLayout that will enable it to properly wrap child controls? Meaning - I have changeable number of children and would like to lay out them horizontally like: Example: Control1, Control2, Control3, ... I do that by setting: ll.setOrientation(LinearLayout.HORIZONTAL); foreach (Child c in children) ll.addView(c); However, if I have large number of children, last one gets cuts off, instead of going to next line. Any idea how this can be fixed?

Is it possible to have sub-second response? edit: more details about the app itself. Amount of data: ~500GB of text data, expect to reach 1TB soon Number of concurrent users using the app: up to 50 The app will be used to present reports about data stored in HBase, like how many times keyword "X" occured in last 24h.   I'm looking for some tools for testing vim scripts. Either vim scripts that do unit/functional testing, or classes for some other library (eg Python's unittest module) that make it convenient to run vim with parameters that cause it to do some tests on its environment, and determine from the output whether or not a given test passed. I'm aware of a couple of vim scripts that do unit testing, but they're sort of vaguely documented and may or may not actually be useful: vim-unit: purports "To provide vim scripts with a simple unit testing framework and tools" first and only version (v0.1) was released in 2004 documentation doesn't mention whether or not it works reliably, other than to state that it is "fare [sic] from finished". unit-test.vim: This one also seems pretty experimental, and may not be particularly reliable. May have been abandoned or back-shelved: last commit was in 2009-11 ( 6 months ago) No tagged revisions have been created (ie no releases) So information from people who are using one of those two existent modules, and/or links to other, more clearly usable, options, are very welcome.

  Hello, I am using MySQL and PHP. I am having a problem with inserting a new item at the end of my table. When I insert the new item appears after the last created item, but I want it to be entered at the bottom of the table. Suppose that I have a table id=int,Primary Key and album=string and the table is: Wrath Crack The Skye Enter Shikari What would the MySQL query be if php variable $album=myAlbum was to be inserted next, at the end of the table, and with the appropriate id?   Hello, im using leaveNotice plugin and example from authors page (example number six, the last one) On the site all looks all right in both chrome and ie8. When im implement this in my page, in chrome all still looks ok, but ie as usually messed it up. Background appears under the text and pop up appears under the background. It's propably issue with css, but im not have css skills to fix it up. Plus with same css on example site all looks all right, im a lil bit confuse, help me please.

• Feature activate via UI but does not show in the Libraries and Lists

  I am really hating SharePoint as there are hardly any good/concrete documentation. I developed custom List "MainCatalog" with few columns (not site columns). Create features and elements with MOSS feature builder at Site collection level so scope="site" installed via stsadm activated via UI "went to site collection website", Site Setting Site collection Feature (and saw my custom list "MainCatalog") and was able to activate. then went to "mySiteCollection Site Settings Site Libraries and Lists " My list is showing But it shows in the "mySiteCollection Create Custom Lists "MainCatalog" I guess it's showing there as a template... But my intention is to deploy this list from development to test environment. EXTREMELY STRESSED. I AM ON THIS FOR LAST 8 DAYS.....

• Transform PDF to HTML, keep layout

  What methods are there to transform a PDF to HTML? It could be anything - online service, software, library. (Opensource preferred. In the last case, php or python would be preferred.) It has to keep the original layout (including page numbers, footnotes and such), keep the images (combining them to one single background image per page is acceptable) and keep the links. It should preferably output valid XHTML and clean up PDF features such as ligatures, but if there is some post-processing required, I can live with that. Something with a clean, relatively semantic HTML output would be great. The closest one I found was zamzar.org, but it choked on links. (Also, the HTML output is an ugly heap of absolutely positioned divs and needs post-processing because of encoding problems.)

• facebook php-sdk not logging out

  I'm having a hard time getting this to work. I use the following to generate the logout url: $logout = "https://www.facebook.com/logout.php?next=" . urlencode('http://' . $_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'] . $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']) . "&access_token=" . $facebook->getAccessToken(); Which generates the correct (worked with the last version) url: https://www.facebook.com/logout.php?next=http%3A%2F%2F...&access_token=AA....ZD However this does not actually log the user out. I tried using $facebook->getLogoutUrl(array('next' => 'myurl')) which generates pretty much the same url. This also did not work. I am lost as to why its not logging the user out. I actually tried manually putting the address into the address bar but it redirects me to the Facebook homepage.

• How can I prevent a ToggleButton from being Toggled without setting IsEnabled=False

  I have a list of ToggleButtons being used as the ItemTemplate in a ListBox similar to this answer using the MultiSelect mode of the Listbox. However I need to make sure at least one item is always selected. I can get the proper behavior from the ListBox by just adding an item back into the ListBox's SelectedItems collection on the ListBox.SelectionChanged event but my ToggleButton still moves out of its toggled state so I think I need to stop it earlier in the process. I would like to do it without setting IsEnabled="False" on the last button Selected because I'd prefer to stay with the Enabled visual style without having to redo my button templates. Any ideas?

• My iPhone App don't works in iOS 4. Why?

  Hi everybody. I make a iPhone App that display some videos, I made it with Xcode 3.2.2 with iPhone SDK 3.1.3 and works fine. But a few days ago I downloaded the last version of the iPhone SDK for iOS 4, the proyect Build ok, no erros, no warnings, but when I run the aplication the video didnt work, the image didn't load but sound works. I don't understand it. Here is the code that I used. • Xcode 5 new bug

  Since the recent IOS update last month I have been having issues with this new bug that has hampered my program. The bug is as follows: using a UIButton and I want to insert a value into it, only after my execution ends does a letter actually appear. But if I create a method during execution to tell me, using NSLog, what my properties contain then that letter I added never shows up. I'm thinking I need to find a way to refresh a property during execution instead in the end. For example: Let's say you want to insert the letter F into a UIButton. Immediately after writing F into that UIButton, look to see that F hasn't isn't in there. But it will only show up after that particular execution sequence finishes. Any help would be great.   I want to expose a class to CLR classes. The reason I have is Xaml. I want to write WPF custom controls in Ruby, then use xaml to style and provide templates for them. Last time I tried, Xaml couldn't look up IronRuby types. class NavBar < TreeView ... end <ControlTemlate TargetType={x:Type MyNamspace:NavBar}> ... </ControlTemplate> I know I can get there by writing to the CodeDom, but I'm hoping someone already did the heavy lifting or can show me how without resorting to CodeDom.

• Handle Enter Key on Website (ASP and VB)

  So I have a website with multiple asp controls. When I press enter inside by login form, the search function runs because it's the first thing found on the page. How would I handle the enter button so that when the active textbox is for the login form, the loginbutton code actually runs rather than the searchbutton. One last problem is that the login controls are inside a loginview so the hierarchy shows that the asp:textbox and asp:button for logging in are inside 3 tags like so: <loginview> <login> <logintemplate> //controls are here. </logintemplate> </login> Just a note that all controls are asp and that all code is prefered in VB.   I'd like to know if there is a class available, either in the standard library or in pypi, that fits this description. The constructor would take an iterator. It would implement the container protocol (ie _getitem_, _len_, etc), so that slices, length, etc., would work. In doing so, it would iterate and retain just enough values from its constructor argument to provide whatever information was requested. So if jitlist[6] was requested, it would call self.source.next() 7 times, save those elements in its list, and return the last one. This would allow downstream code to use it as a list, but avoid unnecessarily instantiating a list for cases where list functionality was not needed, and avoid allocating memory for the entire list if only a few members ended up being requested. It seems like a pretty easy one to write, but it also seems useful enough that it's likely that someone would have already made it available in a module.

• Framework Recommendation request: spring, struts, j2ee?

  The last time I looked at web applications, the consensus seemed to be Struts/J2EE. Now, it looks like Spring MVC/J2EE or Struts/J2EE are both viable solutions. Is this generally correct? Or is Spring MVC now the consensus choice over Struts? We have at least one guy who has worked with Struts before and wants to go with that. I'm more familiar with Struts as well, having reviewed in the past. Also, is J2EE still considered the viable solution for handling remote components? Or are there alternatives?

• Keep local MS SQL 2008 DB table and remote SQL Azure DB table in sync

  Hi there, I have a dedicated server which hosts a Windows Service which does a lot of very heavy load stuff and populates a number of SQL Server database tables. However, of all the database tables it populates and works with, I want only one to be synchronised with a remote SQL Azure DB table. This is because this table holds what I called Resolved data, which is the end result of the Windows Service's work. I would like to keep a SQL Azure database table in sync with this database table. As far as I understand, my options are: Move everything onto Azure (but that involves a massive development overhead and risk) Have another Windows Service on the dedicated server which essentially looks at changed records since the last update and then manually update the SQL Azure table

• Ria Services loading foreign keys with Linq-to-SQL

  I have a database that consists of 5 tables : Course, Category, Location, CourseCategories, and CourseLocations. The last 2 tables just contain the two foreign keys. A Course has many-to-many relationships with both category and location. I am trying to load the data into a Silverlight app using Ria Services. My DB model is Linq-to-SQL. I have tried adding the [Include] attribute to the metadata classes and I have added the DataLoadOptions so it should load the all tables when you ask for a Course. However on the client side I am never getting back any entries in the CourseCategories and CourseLocations properties. What else needs to be done to get the foreign key relationships to exist across the serialization.

• SEO URL building - simple or hierarchy

  I run an online shop and I wonder what would be more SEO-friendly URL for a product page: a) domain.com/category-name/product-name OR b) domain.com/product-name I already have URL-s for product category pages with format domain.com/category-name. On one hand I heard (but cannot find proof for) that Google like tree hierarchies in URL (vote for "a"). On the other hand though longer URL could lead to smaller kewyord density, also "product_name" comes as the last URL part so probably the least important (vote for "b"). Maybe both options are equally SEO-effective? PS. I know about canonical URL's but this is not the case, I don't want/need both URL's formats, just want to choose the best.
