  • WP7 PanoramaItem with Icon/Button next to Header

    Windows Phone 7's People hub has an "all" panorama item with "search" and a "new" buttons right next to the header/title. I can't seem to accomplish this with PanoramaItem in Visual Studio using the standard Panorama control. I don't know enough Silverlight/WPF either to be able to position something manually and control transitions/movement correctly. How can I set a button (or any object, for that matter) to go alongside the header of a wp7 PanoramaItem? Thanks!

Atm our pages come in pdf format so we need a way to export text and images from the pdf so that they can be added to a database.     I need to code a simple form application and I want to make it easy to deploy (without installing libraries or dependencies), I don't want to use visual studio cpp or csharp because clr apps compile with .net frameworks and I have no much experience with mfc and dialogs. So I was wondering which libraries does a simple delphi vcl forms app (those using TForm) use, because I've never had to install anything to run simple delphi apps.

  • Moving from Windows to Ubuntu.

    Hello there, I used to program in Windows with Microsoft Visual C++ and I need to make some of my portable programs (written in portable C++) to be cross-platform, or at least I can release a working version of my program for both Linux and Windows. I am total newcomer in Linux application development (and rarely use the OS itself). So, today, I installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (through Wubi) and equipped Code::Blocks with the g++ compiler as my main weapon. Then I compiled my very first Hello World linux program, and I confused about the output program. I can run my program through the "Build and Run" menu option in Code::Blocks, but when I tried to launch the compiled application externally through a File Browser (in /media/MyNTFSPartition/MyProject/bin/Release; yes, I saved it in my NTFS partition), the program didn't show up. Why? I ran out of idea. I need to change my Windows and Microsoft Visual Studio mindset to Linux and Code::Blocks mindset. So I came up with these questions: How can I execute my compiled linux programs externally (outside IDE)? In Windows, I simply run the generated executable (.exe) file How can I distribute my linux application? In Windows, I simply distribute the executable files with the corresponding DLL files (if any) What is the equivalent of LIBs (static library) and DLLs (dynamic library) in linux and how to use them? In Windows/Visual Studio, I simply add the required libraries to the Additional Dependencies in the Project Settings, and my program will automatically link with the required static library(-ies)/DLLs. Is it possible to use the "binary form" of a C++ library (if provided) so that I wouldn't need to recompile the entire library source code? In Windows, yes. Sometimes precompiled *.lib files are provided. If I want to create a wxWidgets application in Linux, which package should I pick for Ubuntu? wxGTK or wxX11? Can I run wxGTK program under X11? In Windows, I use wxMSW, Of course. If question no. 4 is answered possible, are precompiled wxX11/wxGTK library exists out there? Haven't tried deep google search. In Windows, there is a project called "wxPack" (http://wxpack.sourceforge.net/) that saves a lot of my time. Sorry for asking many questions, but I am really confused on these linux development fundamentals. Any kind of help would be appreciated =) Thanks.

    I'd like to add one additional method for each service operation in my WCF client proxy code (i.e. the generated class that derives from ClientBase). I have written a Visual Studio extension that has an IOperationContractGenerationExtension implementation, but this interface only seems to expose the ability to modify the service interface, not the ClientBase-derived class. Is there any way to generate new methods in the proxy client class?

FunctionName Though when we compile the same dll using GCC using wx-dev-cpp GCC appends the number of paramers the function has, so the name of the function using Dependency walker looks like. FunctionName@numberOfParameters or == FunctionName@8 How do you tell GCC compiler to remove @nn from exported symbols in the dll?

    I have an application which depends on the Team Foundation Server "Object Model", and looks for such binaries in the GAC. This means that clients of the app need to install Visual Studio, or the standalone TFS object model in order to use the application. I would like the installer to detect that the TFS bits aren't installed, and fail to install appropriately if they are not. Is such a thing possible?

Assuming you would want to block access to Yahoo (e.g http://www.yahoo.co.jp, http://www.yahoo.com, http://www.yahoo.co.in), you would ideally want to block all of the above URLs, if I use a regular expression and try to search something called yahoo it seems to get blocked. We are just interested in applying rules which would be most commonly used across all companies (e.g. social networking sites like facebook, orkut), porn sites (e.g. sex), gaming sites (games), movie & song download sites, and sites where they can upload data (e.g. rapidshare) What would be the common set of effective rules in achieving the above?

    I need to build SSIS packages on a build machine, and do not want the overhead of installing SQL Server Management Studio on this machine. A SQL Server 2008 SDK would be ideal, but I could not find where to download it. The dlls I require are (for example): Microsoft.SQLServer.ManagedDTS Microsoft.SqlServer.PipelineHost Microsoft.SqlServer.DTSPipelineWrap Microsoft.SQLServer.DTSRuntimeWrap I could attempt to copy them to the build machine individually, but I would rather just use an SDK if possible.     Well, I am perplexed. I am working with an Ubuntu server and I type in grep 'bash' *.sh BUT fgrep 'bash' *.sh works like a champ. which grep and which fgrep both point to their respective executables in /bin. I am perplexed as to what I am doing wrong. EXAMPLE output: $ grep -F 'grounding' repl.clj Usage: grep [OPTION]... PATTERN [FILE]... Search for PATTERN in each FILE or standard input. PATTERN is, by default, a basic regular expression (BRE). Example: grep -i 'hello world' menu.h main.c $ fgrep 'grounding' repl.clj (p/concepts-for-grounding-term imp1 "PERSON" "summary") See? grep is failing but fgrep is working fine. That is why I am perplexed.
