    Whe I call: select * from Database.dbo.Table where NAME = 'cat' It takes: 200 ms And when I change database to Database in Management Studio and call it without fully qualified name it's much faster: select * from Table where NAME = 'cat' It takes: 17 ms Is there any way to make fully qualified queries faster without changing database?

    I have been playing with this webbrowser control example I got it working and added some timers using ON_WM_TIMER. Now I would like to access the m_Browser (CWebBrowser class instance) defined inside the protected CMyBrowserView class into a different class. (for example CMyBrowserApp in the code sample) and use .Navigate and other functions. How can I do this? (im using visual studio 6 c++)

    i have create a class library (DLL) with many different methods. and the return different types of data(string string[] double double[]). As we can see from the picture with the suggestion of all the different return data the user can get confused and choose wrong return data for some of the methods. So my question is how can i improve this. so Visual studio suggest just the belonging return data type for each method.

  • drag drop no longer working once application gets installed.

    I have an application that has drag and drop functionality to import images and video's. While developing, and testing through Visual Studio this has never given any problems. After installing through a set up project, everything in the application works fine, except the drag and drop, which seems to be doing nothing. Are there any security settings that need to be set through an installer, or something of that nature that could be preventing drag and drop after installation ?

I'm working on some legacy code that has several 100-200 line methods that contain a lot of duplication and I would like to abstract the duplication out.     What would the filter expression be to just select the protocols where the protocol = TLSV1? Something obvious like protocol == "TLSV1" or TCP.protocol == "TLSV1" is apparently not the right way. ip.proto == "TLSV1" says "ip.proto cannot accept strings as values" Update - additional tips: Another great but hidden search is on PacketLength: You can add packet length to your display by clicking "Edit Preferences" (menu or icon), and adding the PacketLength as a new column, but to filter on it you have to use the more cryptic: frame.len == ### where ### is your desired number. We were using this to determine how many packets had been sent and/or received, when you filter, the status-bar at the bottom of the screen shows the number of items matching the filter.

So if Class library 1 has 50 lines of code and 100% coverage And if Class library 2 has 500 lines of code and 0% coverage My total coverage is 90% Any idea how to do this?     This question is, as indicated, for those who use Emacs. When you do, do you rebind the caps-lock key to CTRL, or do you use the "normal" ctrl key? I've recently learned some Emacs commands and was using the Visual Studio 2008 emacs commands for a while, and of course I used a caps-rebind tool, but I'm curious how many other people do. On a side note, the emacs bindings for VS are severely incomplete :(

    I'm playing with a simple string replacement editor for editing VB.Net functions outside of VB. Is there a way to apply VB.Net code formatting to a string? For example. The txtboxCodeEntry looks like this: If strVar="dummy" then 1 else 0 Endif I would like it to "autoformat" to: If strVar = "dummy" Then 1 Else 0 End If The formatting would match whatever formatting VB.Net does when you're editing code in the Visual Studio IDE.
