• emails not going out to all users

  I have a few scripts that send out emails to my users, and for some reason not all users are getting the email. The site is not live yet, so its no big deal yet but I dont understand why. I have set up a few fake accounts, one with my school email, one with hotmail and one with yahoo. When I sign up with my school email I recieve the welcome email, but I get nothing with the other email accounts. The same thing with my 'forgot password' email. Only my school email works, yahoo and hotmail arent working... I'm running on a Linux server with Apache. Using PHP and the kohana framework 2.3.4 Thanks.

• [Cocoa] CoreData bindings for NSPopupButton

  I'm looking to use a dropdown menu (possibly an NSPopupButton object) to represent the hierarchical results of two Core Data entities (Genre and Movie) and their relationships. In my current data model, my Genre entity has a one-to-many relationship with my Movie entity. What I'm now looking to do is generate the contents of an NSPopupButton to show a hierarchical list of Genres and the Movies associated with them, like so: Genre 1 Film 1 Film 2 Genre 2 Film 3 Film 4 Note that, in the above example, only Movie objects are to be selectable by the user (Genre objects will appear, but be unselectable). Also, to complicate matters slightly, I have an additional NSPopupButton which lists Movie Rental locations. The location selected by the user ultimately impacts on the genres and films available in the second dropdown. I imagine that bindings will only take me so far with this problem and that, ultimately, I'll have to populate the contents of the dropdown menu myself. I'm posting here for thoughts and opinions on the best way to go about this.

• Installing Win32 shared SxS policy via WiX 3.0 MSM fails for 2nd app

  I am attempting to author a merge module for use by multiple application installers to install a Win32 Shared SxS Assembly and its associated Policy. I'm using WiX 3.0 to generate the MSM and test MSIs. So far it works fine for the first app installer that runs … but the second app installer fails because the Policy file already exists (HRESULT: 0x800700B7). What requirement(s) for correct Win32 Shared SxS Policy installation am I missing? I have submitted WiX bug 3005301 for this (https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=642714&aid=3005301&group_id=105970) and posted VS2008 projects that reproduce the problem. • ASP with Crystal Report 9 hangs on .NET framework 3.5

  We have an ASP (not ASP.NET) application running on Windows 2003 server. One of the functions of the application is to generate reports using Crystal Report 9. It has been working without any problem with .NET Framework 2.0 and now it is required to install .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 on the server but after we installed the 3.5 SP1, every time we run the application the Crystal report is not generated and the web page hangs so we have to recycle the application pool in IIS to get the application back going. Does anyone have any idea/solution to this problem? Any help will be greatly appreciate.

• How to add flags to RC.EXE through QMake .pro makefiles

  I've the following definition in my .pro file: RC_FILE = app.rc This RC file contains a global include at the top: #include "version_info.h" The version_info.h header is on a common header files directory. Since RC.EXE takes INCLUDE environment variable in consideration, according to MS documentation, my build process batch sets up that accordingly: SET INCLUDE=%PROJECTDIR%\version;%INCLUDE% ... QMAKE project.pro -spec win32-msvc2008 -r CONFIG += release This works perfect as RC seems to read that INCLUDE var so the "version_info.h" file is including on every RC file properly. The problem is when I generate a VS solution (or Import it through the VS Addin). The RC invocation does not contain any /I flag (as I expect) but does not read any INCLUDE variable, even when I've setup through system 'environment variables' dialog in XP. So I'm stuck with this problem, with two alternatives I could not get to work: Make VS RC.exe invocation honour the INCLUDE variable (didn't work either as user or system variable). Force QMAKE to pass /I flag to RC invocation, and get that /I flag imported into the project settings (Resource Compiler properties). Thanks in advance.

  I'm trying to get connected to another ASA via Cisco VPN Client. I am behind an ASA 5505 myself and I am tryihng to VPN to a 5510. I get the message: Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by the Client. Reason 412: The remote peer is no longer responding. I can connect to the other ASA if I use a normal cheap Linksys. • Can't finish Eclipse Plug-in Project Wizard when choosing RCP

  I'm trying create a RCP Application with Eclipse, but I can't get past the 'Content' screen of the New Plug-in Project Wizard. When I select 'yes' for "Rich Client Application, Would you like to create a rich client application" it disables the Next and the Finish Button. I first thought it is due to my target platform which is Eclipse 3.2, but changing that doesn't make a difference. On the top of the screen only one task is displayed (now warnings about missing or incompatible information): Enter the data required to generate the plug-in My Eclipse Version is 3.5 Any ideas?   Hello, I try to expose a database via ADO RIA for which we have only an ODBC based interface. The "database" is a server and new elements are developped all the time, so I would like the server to check metadata at start (using the odbc schema methods) and then expose what he finds via RIA services.... clients can the nregenerate when they need access to new elements. As such, I dont ahve any CLR types for all the tabled developped. ResourceType tableType = new ResourceType( typeof(object), ResourceTypeKind.EntityType, null, "Martini", table_name, false ); tableType.CanReflectOnInstanceType = false; I can somehow not put in NULl as CLR element type, and entering typeof(object) seems to result in reflection errors when trying to access the properties. Any documentation on how to do that? I dont really want to get into having types... though if I have to, I probably will dynamically generate some via bytecode emit.

  Creating an activity tracking system for a social site. All user activiti from pooint of login til logoff are to be tracked. This means the first use case is the user's login. Every activity will have the same format so once I figure out how to track one activity then I can create chema for all activities. Currently for login I have steps like: Two solutions I have: Activity 1: User attempts to login Activity 2 A: User has successfully logged in Activity 2 B: User failed to login. Activity 2 B A: User failed to login due to invalid password Activity 2 B B: User failed to login due to locked account. OR Activty 1: User login - with result = Pass or Fail and if Fail reason = flag_id of reason. Accordingly I have to create the schema. For now I have it like this: activity_id object_id (fk) session_id (fk) user_id (fk) flag_id (fk) created_dt friend_id (fk) result (pass/fail) But ofcourse this a work in progress.

• Creating a specialised view filtering form in Rails

  G'day guys, I have a current set of data, and I generate multiple analyses of this data (each analysis into its own active record item called a pricing_interval) using a helper function at the moment. Currently to analyse the set of data, you need a start time(using datetime_select) an integer (using text_field) and a name (using text_field) I would like on submission of the form to be redirected to the index page of my pricing_interval, as the values will be re-generated. Manually generating a range proves that my helper methods work. How would I build a form that on submit would send parameters to a function in the form of (date,integer,name) so that it could immediately begin work whilst redirecting the user to server/pricing_intervals Anything at all would help, I've spent hours over the past few days trying to get the rails form syntax working properly to no avail, a really straightforward guide to what I would implement to get this working would be amazingly appreciated. I've looked through the form guides, as I'm not creating an object, but merely parsing params, there's got to be an easy way to do this, right?

• Converting from samplerate/cutoff frequency to pi-radians/sample in a discrete time sampled IIR filter system.

  I am working on doing some digital filter work using Python and Numpy/Scipy. I'm using scipy.signal.iirdesign to generate my filter coefficents, but it requires the filter passband coefficents in a format I am not familiar with wp, ws : float Passband and stopband edge frequencies, normalized from 0 to 1 (1 corresponds to pi radians / sample). For example: Lowpass: wp = 0.2, ws = 0.3 Highpass: wp = 0.3, ws = 0.2 (from here) I'm not familiar with digital filters (I'm coming from a hardware design background). In an analog context, I would determine the desired slope and the 3db down point, and calculate component values from that. In this context, how do I take a known sample rate, a desired corner frequency, and a desired rolloff, and calculate the wp, ws values from that? (This might be more appropriate for math.stackexchange. I'm not sure)

  Hi all, I have a web application that has some non-web projects as well. When using Web Deployment, a single assembly is generated for all the aspx.vb files. When using Team Build (TS 2008), a lot number App_Web_xxx.dll file(s) are generated instead of a single assembly. How can i solve this problem and change the TFSBuild.proj file so that it can generate a single Web Assembly instead of a lot number of assemblies. Please help. However, since the algorithm to create GUIDs was changed apparently, I found it hard to get my hands on any up-to-date information. The MSDN seems to try and provide as few information as possible. What is known about how GUIDs are generated in .NET 4? What was changed, and how does it affect the security ("randomness") and integrity ("uniqueness")? One specific aspect I'm interested in: In v1, it seems to be about impossible to generate the same GUID on a single machine again since there was a timestamp and counter involved. In v4, this is no longer the case (I was told), so the chance to get the same GUID on a single machine ... increased?

• Using a database class in my user class

  In my project I have a database class that I use to handle all the MySQL stuff. It connects to a database, runs queries, catches errors and closes the connection. Now I need to create a members area on my site, and I was going to build a users class that would handle registration, logging in, password/username changes/resets and logging out. In this users class I need to use MySQL for obvious reasons... which is what my database class was made for. But I'm confused as to how I would use my database class in my users class. Would I want to create a new database object for my user class and then have it close whenever a method in that class is finished? Or do I somehow make a 'global' database class that can be used throughout my entire script (if this is the case I need help with that, no idea what to do there.)   The Document class have a getDoctype method but doesn't have a setDoctype. The documentation says: The DOM Level 2 does not support editing the Document Type Declaration. docType cannot be altered in any way, including through the use of methods inherited from the Node interface, such as insertNode or removeNode. and in my project I need to generate xml files with my specified doctypes. I've tryied to create my own DefaultNode, but it throws "DOMException: Method not supported" for the setters. Any idea?

  Hi, I just wondering if anyone has already tried of doing something like schema inheritance in BizTalk schemas? I am using WCF Adapter and using 'consume adapter service' to generate a schema automatically, what I wanted is instead of always generating a schema and since most of my schema is the same then I want to have something like a base schema. I have this scenario that I'm testing flat file debatching, for debatching I need to set maxoccur property of the schema to '1' but for batch processing it should be '*', instead of creating a two different schemas I want just to create a base schema and inherit from it and then change the maxoccur property in the derived schema. • Compound IDENTITY column in SQL SERVER 2008

  An Orders table has a CustomerId column and an OrderId column. For certain reasons it's important that OrderId is no longer than 2-bytes. There will be several million orders in total, which makes 2-bytes not enough. A customer will have no more than several thousand orders making 2-bytes enough. The obvious solution is to have the (CustomerId, OrderId) be unique rather than (OrderId) itself. The problem is generating the next Customer's OrderId. Preferably, without creating a separate table for each customer (even if it contains only an IDENTITY column), in order to keep the upper layers of the solution simple. Q: how would you generate the next OrderId so that (CustomerId, OrderId) is unique but OrderId itself is allowed to have repetitions? Does Sql Server 2008 have a built in functionality for doing this? For lack of a better term I'm calling it a Compound IDENTITY column.

• Dynamic query runs directly but not through variable, what could be the reason?

  Here is my scenario, I'm creating a dynamic query using a select statement which uses functions to generate the query. I am storing it into a variable and running it using exec. i.e. declare @dsql nvarchar(max) set @dsql = '' select @dsql = @dsql + dbo.getDynmicQuery(column1, column2) from Table1 exec(@dsql) Now it produces the many errors in this scenario, like 'Incorrect syntax near ','' and 'Case expressions may only be nested to level 10.' But if i take the text from @dsql and assign it a variable manually like: declare @dsql nvarchar(max) set @dsql = '' set @dsql = N'<Dynamic query text>' exec(@dsql) it runs and generates the result, what could be the reason for that ?? • Django-pyodbc mssql/freetds server connection problems on linux

  Error: ('IM002', '[IM002] [unixODBC][Driver Manager]Data source name not found, and no default driver specified (0) (SQLDriverConnectW)') I'm migrating from developing on a windows development machine to linux machine in production and I'm having issues with the freetds driver. As far as I can tell that error message means it can't find the driver. I can connect via the cli via sqsh and tsql. I've setup my settings.py as such. 'bc2db': { 'ENGINE': 'sql_server.pyodbc', 'NAME': 'DataTEST', 'USER': 'appuser', 'PASSWORD': 'PASS', 'HOST': 'bc2.domain.com', 'options': { 'driver': 'FreeTDS', } }, Does anyone have any mssql experience with djano? do I have to use a dns?   I need to dynamically generate a code like this in the resulting html: <p>>> gallery one</p> <p><a href="../gallery2">gallery two</a></p> <p><a href="../about">about the author</a></p> <p><a href="../news">our news</a></p> I do have menu_code string variable created in views.py (it is generated depending on an item number of the current page passed — 1 in the case above), which contains that long string with the code shown above. It is (well, supposed to) passed by locals() into the html template (all other variables are passed that way successfully): return render_to_response('gallery_page.html', locals()) I have this: {% include menu_code %} inside the template html. But instead of being interpreted as code it is just shown as text in the browser. What am I doing wrong? How to make it work as a dynamically generated menu?

• Drawing an NSAttributedString into a non-rectangular CGPath?

  I generate a rather complex NSAttributedString in my iOS 3.2 application (iPad), including formatting options of type CTParagraphStyleSetting, in particular with values for kCTParagraphStyleSpecifierMinimumLineHeight and kCTParagraphStyleSpecifierParagraphSpacing. When I try to draw this attributed string into a non-rectangular CGPath, Core Text draws it but without the line spacing defined; that is, all text appears crammed in paragraphs without line spacing. Needless to say, it does not look as pretty as if the CGPath was simply defined using a single call to CGPathAddRect()! Is there any setting I can specify (to my CTFramesetterRef or to the CTFrameRef associated to the culprit CGPath) to avoid losing all line height information? Thanks!
