  Hi, I am creating a custom social network for one of my clients. In this I am storing the friends of a user in the form of CSV as shown below in the user table uid user_name friends 1 John 2 2 Jack 3,1 3 Gary 2,4 4 Joey 3 In the above scenario if the logged in user is John and if he visits the profile page of Joey, the connection between them should appear as John-Jack-Gary-Joey I am able to establish the connection at level 1 i.e If Jack visits Joey's profile I am able to establish the following : Jack-Gary-Joey But for the 2nd level I need to get into the same routine of for loops which I know is not the right solution + I am not able to implement that as well. This was a two hour movie in which the Bradys got together to celebrate Christmas, introducing the world to the spouses and children of the Brady kids.   Hey, long story short I have inherited some terrible code. As a result a string comparison is buggy when comparing dates due to the format of the date. I am trying to convert the date to a valid DateFormat syntax so I can run a proper comparison. These are some samples of the current format: 12/01/10 at 8:00PM 12/31/10 at 12:00PM 12/10/09 at 5:00AM and so forth. I'd like to convert this to a YYYYMMDDHHMM format i.e 201012012000 for comparison purposes. If anyone can give me a quick regex snippet to do this that'd be appreciated as right now i'm hitting a brick wall for a regex. I can do it by exploding the string over several times etc but I'd rather do it in a more efficient manner. Thanks!

• Creating PDF's using PHP

  What I am wanting to do is create a PDF ideally from HTML code. I found a class called dompdf but I'm having issues with font and page breaks. Does anyone know of another script or even a better way in general to generate PDF files? The reason why I am converting HTML to PDF is because I want someone to use a WYSIWYG editor to create the contents and click save to generate their PDF file... Any input would be greatly apprecaited

• While loops within while loops and output php?

  I have a while loop to show the replies for a post on my website. The value for parentID used in the query is $post['postID'] which is an array of details for the post being viewed. As seen below it outputs the following (each subject is a link to view the full post) $q = $dbc -> prepare("SELECT * FROM boardposts WHERE parentID = ?"); $q -> execute(array($post['postID'])); while ($postReply = $q -> fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC)) { echo '<p><a href="http://www.example.com/boards?topic=' . $_GET['topic'] . '&amp;view=' . $postReply['postID'] . '">' . $postReply['subject'] . '</a>'; } This currently outputs something along the lines of, Replies To This Message: subject 1 subject 2 subject 3 subject 4 Is there a way in which I can also in the list include replies to the replies, something along the lines of, Replies To This Message: subject 1          subject 1 reply          subject 1 reply                  subject 1 reply reply subject 2 subject 3          subject 3 reply          subject 3 reply                  subject 3 reply reply subject 4          subject 4 reply subject 5 subject 6          subject 6 reply                  subject 4 reply reply I understand all the indenting can be with css, but am stuck as to how to pull the data from the mysql database and in the correct order, I tried while loops within while loops, but that involved queries inside while loops, which is bad!
