  • Rebinding jQuery qtip tooltip on images in bxcarousel

    - by skerit
    I'm using bxcarousel to show a bunch of images. Each image has a tooltip, which I display using qtip. This works fine for the first round, but when the images come round a second time the tooltips don't show anymore (because bxcarousel removes an element that slides out and puts it back at the end) An example of the carousel can be found here: http://www.kipdola.be/carousel/carousel.html This is the code used to bind the events (maybe it needs a "live" function somewhere?) // Create the tooltips only on document load $(document).ready(function() { // Use the each() method to gain access to each elements attributes $('#shopcarousel a[rel]').each(function() { $(this).qtip(

  • Google Maps Marker Click Event

    I'd like to populate a google map with several markers. When the user clicks on a marker I would like it to send the user to a different webpage which is designated for that location. (for example: lets say the markers represent homes, when you click on a marker it takes you to a page with more information about the home) What is the simplest way to do this?

  • Changing Opacity of All Elements but One Div

    - by waiwai933
    I'm trying to fade all elements on a webpage except for one div. I've been able to fade all the elements with the following jQuery: $('*').css('opacity', .3); However, it seems as if opacity is a property that inherits from parent elements, even if I explicitly set the opacity of the div to 1. I'm drawing a blank as to any solutions right now, so can I have some help here?

  • How to i disable the _moz_resizing?

    - by Shripad K
    I am using nicEdit editor and i have added my own custom image resizing script to it. But i want to disable the default _moz_resizing that appears in firefox. I wanted to have finer control over the image being resized. ( Eg: Allow only the image to resize and inherit the width of the parent container. ) So i wrote a custom script. But since firefox has its own image resizing control (_moz_resizing) how do i disable it? If there is no way to do so, i have a very simple workaround where i browser detect firefox and turn off my custom script and use the _moz_resizing instead. But i won't have fine grained control and will have to rely on there being now browser bugs in firefox. :(

  • jQuery animations are choppy and stutter in Firefox

    - by J.Milly
    I like think I'm not a dummy but I can't get my jQuery horizontal slideshow to animate smoothly especially in FireFox (on a Mac). Anyone have advice? • What is a robust jQuery Rich Text Editor with image upload capabilities?

    - by thinkswan
    I know this question has been asked countless times, but answers are mixed, so I thought I'd test the waters and see what the latest verdict is out in the development community. I need a [preferably jQuery] rich text editor plugin that simply attaches itself to <textarea> elements and supports image uploads. It doesn't need to be too advanced. Just alignment, bold, italic, styles and image support. I tried CKEditor (along with CKFinder for image uploads), but it just has too many features and is too heavy for what I need. This is going to be used for simple webpage editing.

  • jQuery.ajax checking if there is already another xhr

    - by digitalFresh
    I have a page when, if the user is near the bottom of the page, loads the next page. I just recently switched it to jQuery, and now use the jQuery.ajax() function to get the data. However, now i cannot check if the xhr is already loading, making the page load multiple xhrs when the user near the bottom. My listener is: $(document).scroll(function () { if(/* scrollbar is near bottom */) loadxhr(dat++); //function that calls jQuery.ajax() } }); Basically, can you track the readyState of the call in a global scope?

  • Windows Sidebar gadget - cannont access a div in Flyout DOM

    - by cyrix86
    In the main gadget html, there is a div with an onclick that calls this method in the Gadget script file: ShowFlyout = function() { System.Gadget.Flyout.show = true; var flyoutDoc = System.Gadget.Flyout.document; var mainFlyoutDiv = flyoutDoc.getElementById('divFlyout'); mainFlyoutDiv.innerHTML = "hello"; } Here is the Flyout html: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>This is a flyout</title> <link href="Css\FlyoutStyle.css" type="text/css" rel="Stylesheet" /> </head> <body> <div id="divFlyout" > </div> </body> </html> The problem is that mainFlyoutDiv is always null. When peering into the System.Gadget.Flyout.document object through the debugger, the body parameter is null - I don't think that's right. The System.Gadget.Flyout.file value is being set elsewhere when the gadget first loads. What am I doing wrong? Also, does the System.Gadget.Flyout.show property have to be true before the System.Gadget.Flyout.document property can be accessed? My ultimate goal is to open a flyout and dynamically populate it's html

  • Parsing complex string using regex

    - by wojtek_z
    My regex skills are not very good and recently a new data element has thrown my parser into a loop Take the following string "+USER=Bob Smith-GROUP=Admin+FUNCTION=Read/FUNCTION=Write" Previously I had the following for my regex : [+\\-/] Which would turn the result into USER=Bob Smith GROUP=Admin FUNCTION=Read FUNCTION=Write FUNCTION=Read But now I have values with dashes in them which is causing bad output New string looks like "+USER=Bob Smith-GROUP=Admin+FUNCTION=Read/FUNCTION=Write/FUNCTION=Read-Write" Which gives me the following result , and breaks the key = value structure. USER=Bob Smith GROUP=Admin FUNCTION=Read FUNCTION=Write FUNCTION=Read Write Can someone help me formulate a valid regex for handling this or point me to some key / value examples. Basically I need to be able to handle + - / signs in order to get combinations.

  • Change value of jquery variable based on a select box

    - by Nikos

"minDate" : "maxDate"; var instance = $(this).data("datepicker"); var date = $.datepicker.parseDate(instance.settings.dateFormat || $.datepicker._defaults.dateFormat, selectedDate, instance.settings); dates.not(this).datepicker("option", option, date); } }); });

  • FullCalendar Events: Confused how to enable resizing.

    - by Josiah Kiehl
    I'm using the FullCalendar plugin, and am very pleased with it, however I can't figure out how to enable resizing. I looked at the source of the calendar on the main FullCalendar page, and my code is no different save that I get my events from a source rather than explicitly define them. What am I missing? $('#schedule').fullCalendar({ events: '/campaigns/scheduled', editable: true });

  • CustomRenderer for AutoComplete using google closure library

    - by Paul
    I'm looking to use one of the AutoComplete subclasses(Rich,Remote,RichRemote) and I'd like to use a CustomRenderer, however I don't see instructions for this and reading the documentation/source it appears that the Remote subclass is instantiated with a renderer of "var renderer = new goog.ui.AutoComplete.Renderer();" leaving me no option to change it while instantiating. Is there a setRenderer method on the AutoComplete base class similar to that on the goog.ui.Controls classes? Thanks, Paul

  • Get twitter bootstrap btn-group to operate like grouped navigation bar with drop down menus

    - by Jeremy Child
    I have been trying to get Twitter Bootstrap btn-group with dropdown to work for multiple buttons that have a drop down menu. Example: <div class="btn-group"> <a href="#" class="btn">1</a> <a href="#" class="btn">2</a> <a href="#" class="btn">3</a> <a href="#" class="btn">4</a> <a href="#" class="btn">5</a> </div> And also my attempt: http://jsfiddle.net/x2BGB/ This displays a button group. I would like some of the buttons in that group to have drop down menus. An example of what I am trying to achieve is: Note: the grouped button "bar" should not have rounded cornes when a button is next to another button. (right side).

  • Connecting repeatable and non-repeatble backgrounds without a seam

    - by Stiggler
    I have a 700x300 background repeating seamlessly inside of the main content-div. Now I'd like to attach a div at the bottom of the content-div, containing a different background image that isn't repeatable, connecting seamlessly with the repeatable background above it. Essentially, the non-repeatable image will look like the end piece of the repeatable image. Due to the nature of the pattern, unless the full 300px height of the background image is visible in the last repeat of the content-div's backround, the background in the div below won't seamlessly connect. Basically, I need the content div's height to be a multiple of 300px under all circumstances. What's a good approach to this sort of problem? I've tried resizing the content-div on loading the page, but this only works as long as the content div doesn't contain any resizing, dynamic content, which is not my case: function adjustContentHeight() { // Setting content div's height to nearest upper multiple of column backgrounds height, // forcing it not to be cut-off when repeated. var contentBgHeight = 300; var contentHeight = $("#content").height(); var adjustedHeight = Math.ceil(contentHeight / contentBgHeight); $("#content").height(adjustedHeight * contentBgHeight); } $(document).ready(adjustContentHeight); What I'm looking for there is a way to respond to a div resizing event, but there doesn't seem to be such a thing. Also, please assume I have no access to the JS controlling the resizing of content in the content-div, though this is potentially a way of solving the problem. Another potential solution I was thinking off was to offset the background image in the bottom div by a certain amount depending on the height of the content-div. Again, the missing piece seems to be the ability to respond to a resize event.

  • Jquery Tabs - Change css depending on a specific tab

    - by Jeff Dias
    So, I am working in this page http://universidadedoingles.com.br/text-tabs/tabs-text.html As you guys can see, I have four tabs and an arrow right below, I need to do that the arrow go below the selected tab, if a click on tab 3, that arrow should go below tab 3, simple as that! but I don`t know! You also can see that when the page loads on tab 1 and you click on tab 2 the effect I want works pretty well, here`s the jquery I am using for that: $(document).ready(function() { $("a.tab2").click(function() { $(".arrow-spacer").addClass("tabs2"); }); }); That`s it, thank you vey much for any kind of help. p.S - i am using a mac, so theres no IE for testing yet, this looks good in Safari and Chrome.

  • Automatically resize jQuery UI dialog to the width of the content loaded by ajax

    - by womp
    I'm having a lot of trouble finding specific information and examples on this. I've got a number of jQuery UI dialogs in my application attached to divs that are loaded with .ajax() calls. They all use the same setup call: $(".mydialog").dialog({ autoOpen: false, resizable: false, modal: true }); I just want to have the dialog resize to the width of the content that gets loaded. Right now, the width just stays at 300px (the default) and I get a horizontal scrollbar. As far as I can tell, "autoResize" is no longer an option for dialogs, and nothing happens when I specify it. I'm trying to not write a separate function for each dialog, so .dialog("option", "width", "500") is not really an option, as each dialog is going to have a different width. Specifying width: 'auto' for the dialog options just makes the dialogs take up 100% of the width of the browser window. What are my options? I'm using jQuery 1.4.1 with jQuery UI 1.8rc1. It seems like this should be something that is really easy. EDIT: I've implemented a kludgy workaround for this, but I'm still looking for a better solution.

  • return value from ajax request to another function

    - by stormdrain
    I'm trying to return a value from (transport) to the calling function, but can't seem to get it to work: function createXMLHttpRequest( w ) { var urly = '/users/notes/' + w; var options = { method:'get' , onSuccess: function( transport ) { x = transport.responseText; return x; } , onFailure: function( transport ) { var response = transport.responseText; alert( "FAILED "+ response ); } }; new Ajax.Request( urly, options ); alert( x ); } var ai = $( 'addItem' ); ai.onclick = function() { // -1 indicates new addnote( -1, null ); } x always alerts undefined. Unless I assign x to the Ajax.Request e.g. x=new Ajax.Request(urly,options). It then will alert [Object object]. How can I return the value of transport.responseText to the onclick function?

  • WCF REST with jQuery AJAX - removing/working around same origin policy

    - by csauve
    So I'm trying to create a C# WCF REST service that is called by jQuery. I've discovered that jQuery requires that AJAX calls are made under the same origin policy. I have a few questions for how I might proceed. I am already aware of; 1. The hacky solution of JSONP with a server callback 2. The way too much server overhead of having a cross-domain proxy. 3. Using Flash in the browser to make the call and setting up crossdomain.xml at my WCF server root. I'd rather not use these because; 1. I don't want to use JSON, or at least I don't want to be restricted to using it 2. I would like to separate the server that serves static pages from the one that serves application state. 3. Flash in this day in age is out of the question. What I'm thinking: is there anything like Flash's crossdomain.xml file that works for jQuery? Is this "same-origin" policy a part of jQuery or is it a restriction in specific browsers? If it's just a part of jQuery, maybe I'll try digging in the code to work around it.

  • Enormous data and PHP errors

    - by salamis
    I am currently using the following HighCharts:HighStock:Charts: http://www.highcharts.com/stock/demo/data-grouping in order to display the data returned from the server. We retrieve the data from a MySQL database and is really big. We are storing sensor metrics every 1 second. After a while we got the following error: [Wed Sep 12 00:15:56 2012] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 4756882 bytes) in C:\\wamp\\www\\admin\\getTrends.php on line 156, referer: http://localhost/admin/trends.php [Wed Sep 12 00:15:56 2012] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Stack trace:, referer: http://localhost/admin/trends.php [Wed Sep 12 00:15:56 2012] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP 1. {main}() C:\\wamp\\www\\admin\\getTrends.php:0, referer: http://localhost/admin/trends.php [Wed Sep 12 00:15:56 2012] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP 2. getTrendsDataAI() C:\\wamp\\www\\admin\\getTrends.php:33, referer: http://localhost/admin/trends.php [Wed Sep 12 00:15:56 2012] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP 3. printResults() C:\\wamp\\www\\admin\\getTrends.php:102, referer: http://localhost/admin/trends.php [Wed Sep 12 00:15:56 2012] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP 4. createData() C:\\wamp\\www\\admin\\getTrends.php:230, referer: http://localhost/admin/trends.php [Wed Sep 12 00:15:56 2012] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP 5. implode() C:\\wamp\\www\\admin\\getTrends.php:156, referer: http://localhost/admin/trends.php What is the best solution to return this data as JSON object to HighStocks for viewing? And how can we overcome the PHP limitation? Shall we return chunk of data each time? How do they usually present enormous amount of data to the users and creating charts and reports from this data? Another big problem that we need to overcome is that the returned JSON object is enormous. At this point is around 20-30 mbs and it will be much larger in the future. Is it ok to return this data to the user and perform everything client side? Any suggestions or thoughts welcome.
