  • Is it possible to manipulate a request before IIS assigns that request to a specific site?

    Is it possible to manipulate an inbound request at the IIS level, before it even gets assigned to site on the server? Essentially, I want to rewrite this -- www.somegenericdomain.com?site=someotherdomain To this -- www.someotherdomain.com And I need to do this before IIS picks which site the request belongs to, so I need to change the host header prior to this point. Possible, or crazy? We're running IIS7.

  • How does WAS/IIS manage ServiceHost instances?

    It appears that WAS will call ServiceHostFactory.CreateHost() once per each service implementation. How does WAS manage the lifetime of the ServiceHost/ServiceHostFactory? We have a custom factory/host that is occasionally being re-initialized. I'm wondering if WAS is recycling itself or it has some other reason to re-create the ServiceHostFactory/ServiceHost. I'm guessing the ServiceHostFactory gets fired up for the AppDomain and is a singleton, can someone confirm?

  • Fancybox force scroll to top

    I'm using the jQuery Fancybox plugin to display some content on a website. Unfortunately, when a link is clicked, the lightbox that is loaded starts at the same scroll position as the previous one. I tried using self.scrollTo(0,0) $.scrollTo(0) $('#top').scrollTo(); and a few others methods to push it back to the top, but none have seemed to work. Any help on this?

    I want to be able to do Artist.case_insensitive_find_or_create_by_name(artist_name)[1] (and have it work on both sqlite and postgreSQL) What's the best way to accomplish this? After all they need money to host their data and code. I find it really difficult to follow what is going on in Python when things like this break. In the languages I mentioned previously it's fairly straightforward to figure things like this out -- check the method signature and check your parameters. Looking at the Django documentation for half an hour left me just as lost. Looking at the source for get_or_create(self, **kwargs) didn't help either since there is no method signature and the code appears very generic. A next step would be to debug the method and try to figure out what is happening, but this seems a bit extreme... I seem to be missing some fundamental operating principle here... what is it? How do I resolve issues like this on my own in the future?

  • Detecting Touches in an OpenGL rendered scene

    Hey. I was wondering whether there is a way to detect a touch in an OpenGL rendered scene. What I have i a set of images which are being rendered in my main view. Now if the user touches one of these images (or objects) I would like to know which one was touched - similar to the CGRectContainsPoint(frame, [touch locationInView:self.view] method. Is there an easy way to find out? If there is none, this would also help.

    Since I've read Windows User Experience Interaction Guidelines (there's a PDF download avaliable) I've found it to be admirably self-deprecating, humbly pointing out their own horrible UI practices long scolded by Joel Spolsky. I'd like to know, however, what they had in mind while they made those mistakes. Is this (terrific) UX Guidelines document something new, or were there previous issues of such? If so, where can I find them? My prayers to Google yielded no leniency.

  • Uncenter MkMapView

    I am trying to "uncenter" the map view and remove all annotations. the reason for this is that the mapView will be used by different view controllers to display different annotations and locations. What's happening now is that i am using the "remove annotations" method and i removes them, but the map stays centered on the spot and thus when the new annotations come in, it does not move. Is there a way to reset the region and if so, what value do i reset it to. The problem i have with that part is that when i go back to the previous View Controller i remove all annotations, so when i come back in the User location (for some reason) does not pop back in.     Hi, I recently moved my website to a new host and now am experiencing some broken code.. I have an uploading script that is now returning this: move_uploaded_file() failed to open stream: Permission denied in *.. I've set the upload directory to 777 which worked fine, but my script is needed to have top level permissions.. (As the script itself sets permission to directories, does lots of copying etc) Is there a way in apache I can set the PHP script to the owner of all the folders on my server? Thanks

    i have a rails app which makes heavy use of activeresource and httparty to make api calls. Is there any library/extension to log the requests and parse them, so that log analysis becomes easier and automated. RailsLogAnalyser is good but what about extra calls, what are the conventions? Something like a opensource/self-hosted alternative to newrelic, but with extensions to plug in your own logging.

    i, I have posted query previously and i am repeating same I want to modify igmpv3 (Linux) which is inbuilt in kernel2.6.-- such that it reads a value from a file and appropriately decides reserved(res 1) value inside the igmpv3 paket which is sent by a host.
