  • BizTalk 2010 upgrade - Sunset Development/Deployment Modes

    Those who are familiar with BizTalk 2006, should know about Development and Deployment modes in Visual Studio. Personally, I never questioned why it's not Debug and Release just like everything else in Visual Studio. Then everything changed in BizTalk 2010. BizTalk and Visual Studio 2010 now uses Debug and Release modes by default. When we upgraded BizTalk 2006 solution to 2010, Development and Deployment modes remained unchanged for all the projects, and code compiled without any issues. Soon, I realized that any new projects added to the converted solutions started using Debug and Release modes. This also didn't cause any problem compiling the solution from Visual Studio; however, it broke our custom build/deployment scripts since the scripts were trying to build in Deployment mode. So, I decided to change all projects from Development and Deployment modes to Debug and Release modes to keep them consistent. During this process I realized that Debug and Release modes are defaults; but it's completely customizable. During the BizTalk 2010 upgrade process, I figured that switching to default Debug and Release modes are the best options.

  • "VLC could not read the file" error when trying to play DVDs

    I can watch most DVD's on my machine using VLC but today, I went to watch Thor, and it won't play. libdvdread4 and libdvdcss2 are at the latest versions. vlc -v returns 1.1.4 w32codecs are installed and reinstalled ubuntu-restricted-extras are same as above My machine recognises the disc and I can open the folder and browse the assorted .vob files, of which there are many. I just can't watch THOR, and I'm pretty confident that the disc is ok. It is a rental, but it's clean and there are no surface abrasions. I even cleaned it with Christian Dior aftershave to make sure.

  • I am trying to install Kubuntu, but I get a metalink error

    It looks like the ISO metalink is broken for the Kubuntu install from Wubi. Can you please fix this? Or, help me figure out what I'm doing wrong.   • Permission denied error when trying to install with wubi

    I run into problem when tried to install Ubuntu 11.04 on Windows 7 using wubi installer . It downloads the image for sometime and ends up with the error that says Permission denied: for more details see the log file In the log it seems to be like DownloadError: Problem connecting to tracker - urlopen error (10060, 'Operation timed out') but my network is good and I checked it. Tried using wubi several times, but ends up with same problem.     Hi Guys, My code appears to crash. I'm trying to setup a SensorManager for getting the Orientation of the device. I also have a listener that should update when conditions change. I've got some other classes outputting the Orientation to a screen which I know works. The problem is somewhere in these methods. Am I doing it wrong or Is there a better way of doing this?

    Hi All, I have been trying to set up local debugging for my ASP.NET app in Delphi and am getting the error above. I have used the aspnet_regiis.exe tool with the following: Aspnet_regiis.exe -s W3SVC/1/ROOT/DevTest but this hasn't helped. It added it to IIS as an application but I am still getting the error: The project cannot be debugged because virtual directory "DevTes" is not configured with ASP.NET version 2.0 or 3.0 Use aspnet_regiis.exe to configure the local IIS web server. I am not really sure where to go from here so need some help please: Machine specs: Windows 7 64bit, IIS7, Using RAD Studio 2007.

    I am trying to set up an ldap authentication context where the authorities is a separate ldap instance (with the same principal name). I am having trouble setting up the authentication part, the logs dont show any search results for the following context.   • How do you debug a unit test in Xcode 3?

    I followed Apple's instructions to set up Unit Testing in my project. I followed the directions for making them dependent, so the tests run with every build of my main project. This works, and when my tests pass the application runs; when they don't, I get build errors on the lines of the unit tests that failed. I would like, however, to be able to step through my application code when the tests are failing, but can't get Xcode (3.2.5) configured properly. The project is a Mac project, not iOS. I tried the instructions here and here, but execution never stopped at the breakpoints I set, neither in the the unit test code or in my application code. After following the first set of instructions, the breakpoints I set turned yellow with blue outlines, and I don't know what that meant, either. What do I need to do to step through my tests?

  • What are some methods to debug Javascript inside of a UIWebView?

    I'm trying to figure out why something with Javascript isn't working inside of a UIWebView. To my knowledge, there is no way to set a breakpoint inside of XCode for a js file. No problemo, I'll just go back to 2004 and use alert statemen-- oh wait they don't seem to work inside of a UIWebView either! The only thing I could think of is by exporting my HTML And JS files to my desktop and then just doing my debugging inside of Safari. And that works! But of course, the bug I'm fighting with in the UIWebView doesn't occur in Safari. Are there any other ways for debugging inside of a UIWebView, or any tricks that I can use akin to using the old-school alert method?

Note: This website does require a login, which I handle with code like the following $agent = Mechanize.new $agent.get('http://fakewebsite//admin/login.cfm?res=-5') form = $agent.page.forms.first form.EMail = "admin" form.Password = "password" form.submit This login works just fine, since I access other webpages protected by the login. I'm not sure where to go from here, any suggestions?

    I am working through "Beginning iPad Application Development" and am getting hung up in Chapter 3 where I have created a project that works with an Action Sheet.   • Is Annotation in Javascript? If not, how to switch between debug/productive modes in declarative way

    Hi all: This is but a curious question. I cannot find any useful links from Google so it might be better to ask the gurus here. The point is: is there a way to make "annotation" in javascript source code so that all code snippets for testing purpose can be 'filtered out' when project is deployed from test field into the real environment? I know in Java, C# or some other languages, you can assign an annotation just above the function name, such as : // it is good to remove the annoying warning messages @SuppressWarnings("unchecked") public class Tester extends TestingPackage { ... } Basically I've got a lot of testing code that prints out something into FireBug console. I don't wanna manually "comment out" them because the guy that is going to maintain the code might not be aware of all the testing functions, so he/she might just miss one function and the whole thing can be brought down to its knees. One other thing, we might use a minimizer to "shrink" the source code into "human unreadable" code and boost up performance (just like jQuery.min), so trying to match testing section out of the mess is not possible for plain human eyes in the future. Any suggestion is much appreciated.

    I am a PHP programmer. I have no .Net coding experience (last seen it 4 years ago). Not interested in code-behind model since this is a quick temporary hack. What I am trying to do is generate an output.txt file whenever the user submits new data. So an output.txt file if exists should be replaced with the new one.   • how i can open different linux terminal to output differnt kinds of debug information in python?

    Hi All, I need output different information to different terminal instances instead of print them in same output stream, say std.err or std.out. for example: I have 5 kinds of information say A-E need to be displayed on different terminal windows on same desktop, looks like [terminal 1] <- for displaying information A [terminal 2] <- for displaying information B [terminal 3] <- for displaying information C [terminal 4] <- for displaying information D [terminal 5] <- for displaying information E I know I can output them into different files, then open terminals read the file in loop, but what I want is python program can open terminal by program itself and print to them directly when it is needed.     Hi folks, Is it possible to step through the official ASP.NET MVC 2 code via using the Symbol Server thingy in visual studio 2010? I know I can download the full open source MVC code from codeplex, build it and then get my code to reference THAT codebase dll's... But i'm wondering if this could be achieved by using the Symbol Server stuff instead? If so, can someone go through some steps please, about how to achieve this?
