• ASP.NET: With C# or C# + VB.NET?

  I am currently reading Beginning ASP.NET 4: in C# and VB (Wrox Programmer to Programmer) and it comes with both C# and VB.NET source code. I am definitely planning to use C# in the future for most of my projects. But VB.NET - is it really worth learning side-by-side with C#? Are there such cases when VB.NET is preferred over C#?

  Hello there I have developed an application in vb.net2008 and database sqlserver. Now i want to ignore the database(it has 1 table as customer(name,password,hour,minute)) as i dont want my client to install sqlserver separately or other overheads. I am planning to do the whole using file handling in vb.net(manipulating the data in files itself eg change username, password etc). XML values going to AS3, updating a changing acceleration formula. I don't hate math, but it just doesn't seem OOP or good project planning to have the math stuck in Flash.   From a data frame with timestamped rows (strptime results), what is the best method for aggregating statistics for intervals? Intervals could be an hour, a day, etc. I've found the aggregate function, but that doesn't help with assigning each row to an interval. I'm planning on adding a column to the data frame that denotes interval and using that with aggregate, but if there's a better solution it'd be great to hear it. Thanks for any pointers!
