  • How to restrict code from developers

    My company is planning in hiring outsourcers to work for us, but concerned to give whole existing code to outside world. What is the proper way to deal with security of sharing code in such cases? Is it possible to restrict part of code for developers? So each of them could work on their project without having access to whole repository. P.S. The code we have is very integrated, and its hard to extract "one module", each module can use files from different locations. Thanks in advance

  • What exactly is server and client side pagination?

    Is server side pagination where the pagination script calculates the number of entries in a database then make the links? All I know is server side is faster and better if there is alot of data and client side is using javascript? What makes a pagination script server or client side? Also, right now I am planning to use this pagination which is like digg-style. Can someone tell me if that is server-side pagination? (sorry if my terminology is off)

    I have developed an application in vb.net2008 and database sqlserver. Now i want to ignore the database (it has 1 table as customer(name,password,hour,minute)) as i dont want my client to install sqlserver separately or other overheads. I am planning to do the whole using file handling in vb.net(manipulating the data in files itself eg change username, password etc). As I am new i don't actually know the proper way and of course need assistance.

    I'm currently looking into developing Facebook applications and was planning on using Flash as the basis of my application, I have test built some simple PHP Facebook applications and I know enough about action-script 3 to start me on my way, but the API for Facebook development in AS looks far more tedious than the PHP one. my question is would I be able to create interactive graphics (games) like we see across the web in the HTML5 canvas class? and which would be simpler?

So i'm planning for generation of AST (abstract syntax tree). Will it be possible to generate for both language together.     By default, when you apply changes to a Bugzilla entry, the web interface advances to the next bug in your list. I would like to disable this feature since it is almost never what I desire, planning to make further updates later. Further, I often update the wrong bug subsequently due to its changing the current bug without my noticing. How do I configure Bugzilla to not advance like this?

    I am planning to use py2exe to make an application developped with Python 2.6. It seems that my app need the VC redistribuables : http://www.py2exe.org/index.cgi/Tutorial#Step5 I've read this tutorial and the redistribuables license agreement and I am not sure if I can freely redistribute these files with my program. (I don't have VS2008 license) Can I bundle the redistribs into an installer and make the installation transparent for the user or do they have to download the files by their own from Microsoft website?     Hi, I am planning to participate in development of a code written in C language for Monte Carlo analysis of complex problems. This codes allocates huge data arrays in memory to speed up its performance, therefore the author of the code has chosen C instead of C++ claiming that one can make faster and more reliable (concerning memory leaks) code with C. Do you agree with that? What would be your choice, if you need to store 4-16 Gb of data arrays in memory during calculation?
