• Write Local File using Adobe Air Iframe

  This is driving me mad. I am creating an AIR application and everything is working great. However I would really like to have a form inside an Iframe that when the user clicks submit saves the file to local application storage directory. Right now I am able to do this and save the file with no problems when I just access the HTML page not inside an Iframe. However if I wrap the page in an iframe and hit submit the file does not save. Any code examples would be very much appreciated. • Refactoring a long method that simply populates

  I am refactoring a method which is over 500 lines (don't ask me why) The method basically queries a list of maps from the database and for each map in the list does some computation and adds the value of that computation to the map. There are however too many computations and puts being done that the code has reached over 500 lines already! • Texture repeats even with GL_CLAMP_TO_EDGE set [FIXED]

  Hi, i'm trying to put a translucing texture on a face which uses points 1 to 4 (don't mind the numbers) on the following screenshot Sadly as you can see the texture repeats herself in both dimensions, I tried to switch the TEXTURE_WRAP_S from REPEAT to CLAMP_to_EDGE but it doesn't change anything. • Have to put files in static_dir but need to read them afterwards

  I just started using google app engine. In order to use templates, I'm using jinja2. I want to add images dynamically after I set the width and height of the img tag. I used PIL in order to read the image size and put the one I want. However when I open the image with PIL, I need it not to be in a static_dir and to put the image in the img tag, I need it to be in the static_dir. As a testing solution I've copied the folder to see if I get results and I did. But as you can see having each image saved twice is kind of bad.

  I've got a web page that I'm embedding a pdf into. Is there a way to make this happen? I know only a little about JQuery, but it looks like .ready() won't fit my needs, since it is designed to fire when the html document is ready, not when all of its components are fully loaded. • Is there a semantic difference <span>'s and <div>'s?

  I know when coding HTML, I'm supposed to keep semantics in mind, e.g., h1 needs to be a main header, h2 needs to be a subheader, tables need to be tables, use <em> for emphasis instead of <i>, etc. Is there a proper difference between divs and spans except one is a block and the other is in-line? When I was learning I was told that <span>'s were for styling text mid-line. If I had a small blurb of text that I needed positioned at a certain point in my webpage, one that doesn't warrent a <p> tag, would I use a span should I stick with div's? What if that text needs to cover two lines (i.e., it needs a width) if it contains nothing but text, what should I use?

• Safari won't request video or audio from HTML 5 media elements?

  So far what I've been developing has worked in Chrome and, using fallbacks, IE8. What I don't get is this: Safari just won't start loading <video> or <audio> content. Safari 6 won't load, and neither will iOS 5's Safari: My code calls .load() on the elements at the appropriate time (at least for Chrome), so what gives? Here is the video declaration: <video width="800" height="600" class="faces" id="facesVideo"> <source src="video/grid.mp4" type="video/mp4" /> <source src="video/grid.ogv" type="video/ogg" /> </video> The audio is declared dynamically, but has the same problem.   Hi Folks! I have been working on a web app and for part of it I need to open a new window. I have this working on all browsers, my sticking point is with Google Chrome. Chrome seems to ignore the window features which is causing me issues, the thing I'm struggling with is I need the address bar to be editable within the new window. FF, IE, Safari and Opera do this fine, Chrome does not. • WPF Moving Element problem

  Hello, I am probably over-doing a very simple problem, but this is what I have a the moment: I have several buttons and a listbox of items in which the user can select and interact with. My application also moves those elements in accordance to the application width/height, such as follows: listBox1.Margin = new Thickness(this.ActualWidth * 0.84, this.ActualHeight * 0.3, 0, 0); I am able to select the items within the listbox and click on buttons appropriately while in windowed mode, but as I begin to stretch the application larger, I try to click on the items, and I cannot do so.. is this because I also need to update their hit-detection rectangles as well? Or perhaps am I moving the items incorrectly? I am at a loss.. any information would be very helpful at this point...thanks!

• Python Textwrap - forcing 'hard' breaks

  I am trying to use textwrap to format an import file that is quite particular in how it is formatted. Basically, it is as follows (line length shortened for simplicity): abcdef <- Ok line abcdef ghijk <- Note leading space to indicate wrapped line lm Now, I have got code to work as follows: wrapper = TextWrapper(width=80, subsequent_indent=' ', break_long_words=True, break_on_hyphens=False) for l in lines: wrapline=wrapper.wrap(l) This works nearly perfectly, however, the text wrapping code doesn't do a hard break at the 80 character mark, it tries to be smart and break on a space (at approx 20 chars in). I have got round this by replacing all spaces in the string list with a unique character (#), wrapping them and then removing the character, but surely there must be a cleaner way? N.B Any possible answers need to work on Python 2.4 - sorry!

Though I'm using an iterator as I've been told many times that's good programming : and I'm wondering if the iterator has a "index" number of something which I can use to calculate the new X position? • Window scrolling up when jquery dialog opens up

  I am trying to open a modal jquery dialog using jquery 1.4 and jquery-ui-1.8rc3.custom.js The dialog opens up with no issues, in all browsers, but in IE 7 and 6, after the dialog opens up, the window scrolls itself to the buttom... I tried scrolling the window up back to the modal position but is very inconsistent. was using the following line of code after opening up the modal window.scrollTo($('selector').dialog('option', 'position')[0],$('selector').dialog('option', 'position')[1]); One weird thing I am noticing is that after I open the modal, the page becomes huge... as if some extra things adds up on the bottom .... and it eventually scrolls to the bottom. • how to animate a menu item into a large div (window) using jquery's animate?

  i'm pretty sure this can be done pretty easily with jquery's animate api, but i'm not good enough to figure it out. what i want to do is this: i have a menu item at the top of the viewport that the user will click on. when the user clicks on it, you'll see something that looks like the div "popping" out of the menu and float to a particular location on the screen. when i say popping i don't mean anything fancy - i just mean it appears to be originating from the menu item and settling somewhere on the screen that i specify. but the important part is that this animation happens really fast. fast enough where you don't have to actually wait for the window to appear, but slow enough so the eye sees the animation start from the menu item and end up at a new location where the window will actually appear, and appear with a specify height and width. hope that all made sense?
