  • New laptop, windows 7, Outlook 2007 installed

    A friend of mine has purchased a new laptop (Toshiba) with Windows 7 installed and has also purchased Outlook 2007 and atttmped to install it - the install worked ok, but I think he may have selected Exchange server when installing the first time - now it will not start, displaying message like "Your Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable " Outlook 2007 should have been configued for Pop3 as he has a hotmail account, but Outlook will not load "offline" and despite me de-installing, re-installing, running repair, I cannot get it to load to a point where I can add a new email account. If any one has any ideas on this, I would apprecaite the help Thanks, Bob

    Hi all, I got thie message when i started apache service The Apache service named reported the following error: httpd.exe: Syntax error on line 128 of C:/data/apache/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load C:/data/apache/modules/mod_wsgi.so into server: The specified module could not be found. .     Hello, I've just installed ubuntu 10.10 on my laptop its all great but the screen resolution is a bit crap i have it set 1200:800 and when i do xrandr it indicates that the i can have a bigger screen resolution but i dont seem to to be able to increase it more 1200:800. another interesting thing is that xorg.conf does not exist on the /etc/X11/ is there a way to increase the screen resolution for Sony laptops? the graphics card is Intel Graphics Please help!

    I have umpteen backups trying to restore my scripts I had in the netlogon share but when I go to them the folder is empty. Does backup not back those scripts in netlogon up? Is there somewhere I should expect to see the files at besides c:\winnt\sysvol\sysvol\mydomain\scripts? Thank you for any help.

I am able to browse through the guest operating system( SLED ) but I am unable to log in to any web accounts like stackoverflow,google etc...     We have ~300 celeryd processes running under Ubuntu 10.4 64-bit , in idle every process takes ~19mb RES, ~174mb VIRT, thus - it's around 6GB of RAM in idle for all processes. In active state - process takes up to 100mb of RES and ~300mb VIRT Every process uses minidom(xml files are < 500kb, simple structure) and urllib. Quetions is - how can we decrease RAM consuption - at least for idle workers, probably some celery or python options may help? How to determine which part takes most of memory?

    my problem is about Ip Address which I am receiving on the windows system snmp-trap messages,is some thing like that UDP: [192.168.1.150]:1029->[0.0.0.0]:0 while same trap message on linux system has been displayed as UDP: [192.168.1.150]:1030->[192.168.1.23] Now,if you observed carefully these two ,its clearly shown that server ip is not coming in windows traps-Ip([0.0.0.0]:0).what would be the possible reason?please anyone can help me about understanding this & can provide the solution for this problem.

    How can I limit the time spent on the computer or force a log out from a Windows 7 machine? I used to use Windows Steady State to limit users (kids) from being on too long but SteadyState does not work with Windows 7 Home Premium and is discontinued. Is there a way to set this up in Windows 7 where it will kick off a user after a set time? Or perhaps there's an alternative program that can help limit the time one user is at the computer.

    A program has installed c:/windows/syswow64/msxml4.dll on my hard drive. Sadly this is an old version (4.30.2100.0) with a security problem therefore I really wants to remove the file and the program that installed it. MSXML4 is not in the list of programs that I can uninstall under "Programs and features". Is there a way to find the program that installed it in windows 8.1? Hope some of you can help.
