  • Rails 2.3 uniqueness validation - how can I capture the value causing the error

    Hi - I'm trying to capture the value that's throwing a uniqueness error (or for that matter, any other type of built-in validation) to display it in the :message option. Here's what I tried (didn't work) # inside the model validate_uniqueness_of :name, :message => "#{name} has already been taken" # also tried using #{:name} I could use a custom validation, but this beats the point of using something that's already integrated into AR. Any thoughts? thanks.

    Hi, I have 3 models Recommendation Job Qualification Recommendation model has two fields as work_type and work_id(foreign key for job/qualification based on work_type as "J"/"Q") I am facing problem in using counter_cache I have done this in recommendation.rb belongs_to :job , :counter_cache = true, :foreign_key = "work_id" belongs_to :qualification , :counter_cache = true, :foreign_key = "work_id" and in job and qualification model files has_many :recommendations , :conditions = {:work_type = "J"} has_many :recommendations , :conditions = {:work_type = "Q"} Both Job and Qualification Models have a column as recommendations_count The problem is every time an object of recommendation is created count is increased in the both the models Please help me with this Thanks

First when running functional test, I get an undefined method openid_identifier? message on a line in my new.html.erb file when running the UsersControllerTest.     hi, what is wrong in this code? I'm trying to get this effect: fadeOut(500) and attr('class','myClass') delayed by 600 millisecs.. then delay(600) again, and fadeIn(500). The delays happen correctly but the attr() is not being delayed, it fires when #myDiv is still fading! :'( $('#myDiv').fadeOut(500).delay(600).attr('class','myClass').delay(600).fadeIn(500); many thanks in advance for any suggestions!     i looked at the example from the iphone dev: http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/samplecode/Scrolling/index.html everything looks cool except that for 5 image they set the "const NSUInteger kNumImages = 5;" what happens is that what if i have 1000 images?and i wan to view it without having to change the number everytime?also if i will to set the number to 1000 and i have only 10 images then in the simulator the user can scroll "blank view" till it reaches count 1000! help please..thanks

  • ClickOnce in Release mode doesn't publish

    Just doing some testing/prototyping with ClickOnce. Does anyone know why I can publish with CLickOnce when its set to 'debug' mode but not when its set to 'release' mode? I dont even get an error message for the latter. The output folder remains empty as nothing has happened. Once I switch to Debug mode and do the publishing everything is fine. Any idea? Thanks

I can't see the test results however (and never could after installing CC Net 1.5, as I recall 1.4 it 'just worked'). How do I get the unit test results from NCover displayed in CC.net?
