Hi!
I was wondering if I can deallocate the depth buffer in iPhone OpenGL ES to conserve memory? Or it stays until the application finishes?
I only need the depth testing in the beginning of the application.
The new version of SQLite has the ability to enforce Foreign Key constraints, but for the sake of backwards-compatibility, you have to turn it on for each database connection separately!
sqlite> PRAGMA foreign_keys = ON;
I am using SQLAlchemy -- how can I make sure this always gets turned on?
What I have tried is this:
engine = sqlalchemy.create_engine('sqlite:///:memory:', echo=True)
engine.execute('pragma foreign_keys=on')
...but it is not working!...What am I missing?
Hi,
I'm creating a COM dll and it will be loaded by VBA. However, I noticed that for every excel instance (workbook), a new COM object is loading to memory. But I need to maintain single COM state irrespective of number of Excel instances exists.
Please help me achieve this purpose .
Thank you
I have a set of key/values (all text) that is too large to load in memory at once. I would like to interact with this data via a Python dictionary-like interface.
Does such a module already exist?
Reading key values should be efficient and values compressed on disk to save space.
Hi,
I was asked this question today by a colleague, and couldn't find any clue on the Internet...
Can someone tell me if calling Marshall.ReleaseComObject()directly calls the garbage collector ?
As I understand it, it only removes COM references, and then the G.C. cleans memory on its next pass, but I can be mistaken...
Thanks in advance for your help!
Every 15-30 minutes Netbeans shows a "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space". From what I learned from Google this seems to be related to classloader leaks or memory leaks in general.
Unfortunatly all suggestions I found were related to application servers and I have no idea to adapted them to Netbeans. (I'm not even sure it's the same problem)
Is it a problem in my application? How can I find the source?
Hi,
I have out of memory exception when I try to load 1Mb filesize into PictureBox to display on NetCF.
Would appreciate some1 can provide me some help.
Thanks
I'm looking for a server app to be routinely generating certificates for client applications using self-signed root. Is there any streamlined process in .NET to programmatically generate those certificates?
I can, of course, keep spawning makecert or openssl, but I was looking for more programmatic, in-memory method, when you just get X509Certificate on output.
If someone got a code snippet, can you please share?
Can anyone tell me what are the advantages of using Commands vs Events in WPF.
Do Commands or Events run into memory leaks?
What is the fastest approach. What are their disadvantages.
Boy, I've got everything down-pat save the word referencing. The game crashes because of the size of NSMutableArray.
What's the best way to create a word list that can be referenced without encumbering memory?
Thanks!
I've done a little bit of reading on the topic, but nothing too clear has turned up. Why is it so difficult to run Mac OS on a virtual machine on a PC? Some sources say it's because of hardware architecture. Is there a clear, definitive reason?
Hi guys,
i have installed TFS 2010 in a 2 server setup with an App Tier server and a SQL Server and am not 100% happy with the performance.
Both are running in VM's on SAN disks and have been given the following virtual hardware each:
Windows 2008 R2
1 CPU @ 2.8Ghz
2gb RAM
what should i lift - neither machine is hammered but both do go up to 80% when people are doing things on them - should i add another CPU to each - usually this is now required in a VMWARE setup but i don't know if TFS 2010 takes advantage of an extra core???
thank you in advance :-)
I have a python app which is supposed to be very long-lived, but sometimes the process just disappears and I don't know why. Nothing gets logged when this happens, so I'm at a bit of a loss.
Is there some way in code I can hook in to an exit event, or some other way to get some of my code to run just before the process quits? I'd like to log the state of memory structures to better understand what's going on.
Hi,
Is there a way to disable the Javascript in a UIwebView ?
I have memory consumption problem, and I'm looking for a trick here because it seems to not be be possible with the official stuff.
Maybe a call with javascript can stop javascript itself, i don't know.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Adrian C
Hi:
I recently installed WAMP for actual local use. I've worked on live development servers but now am working on localhost. I've managed to get multiple virtual hosts setup on my WAMP/Vista 64-bit box but am having difficulty with directories pulled from SVN.
I have four vhosts setup. Two work well and they are not tied to any SVN just yet.
I'm also using TortoiseSVN in case it makes any difference.
However, the other projects are coming from SVN repositories. When I view these two projects I get the following error:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, admin@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
The way I setup the vhosts is as follows:
httpd.conf
# Multiple Virtual Hosts
<VirtualHost 127.0.0.1>
ServerName localhost
DocumentRoot "C:/wamp/www/"
</VirtualHost>
<VirtualHost 127.0.1.0>
ServerName testone.local
DocumentRoot "C:/wamp/www/root/projectone/"
</VirtualHost>
<VirtualHost 127.0.2.0>
ServerName testtwo.local
DocumentRoot "C:/wamp/www/root/projecttwo/"
</VirtualHost>
<VirtualHost 127.0.3.0>
ServerName testthree.local
DocumentRoot "C:/wamp/www/root/projectthree/"
</VirtualHost>
<VirtualHost 127.0.3.1>
ServerName testfour.local
DocumentRoot "C:/wamp/www/root/projectfour/"
</VirtualHost>
And here's the 'hosts' file:
# Localhost
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost
# Project One
127.0.1.0 testone.local
# Project Two
127.0.2.0 testtwo.local
# Project Three
127.0.3.0 testthree.local
# Project Four
127.0.3.1 testfour.local
Everything works just fine. So if you want to tell me I'm doing something wrong then by all means point out a few things. But as it stands, it works and I'm content using different IPs and/or named-based vhosts.
The problem comes in not being able to see the directories and files in the projects that are tied to an SVN. Whenever I visit http://testxxxx.local I get the error message at the top of this post. Please provide some suggestions. Thank you!
I have an Android live wallpaper that I suspect is leaking memory, probably either textures or vertex arrays. I'm calling glDeleteTextures on my texture IDs, but don't see any sort of equivalent for my vertex buffers. I'd like to be able to be sure both my textures and buffers are getting unloaded by OpenGL, am i missing something?
The documents I've found seem to suggest OpenGL just works it out on its own, but that's not giving me a lot of comfort.
How can i solve out of memory exception in list generic if adding new value
foreach(DataColumn dc in dTable.Columns)
foreach (DataRow dr in dTable.Rows)
myScriptCellsCount.MyCellsCharactersCount.Add(dr[dc].ToString().Length);
MyBase Class:
public class MyExcelSheetsCells
{
public List<int> MyCellsCharactersCount { get; set; }
public MyExcelSheetsCells()
{
MyCellsCharactersCount = new List<int>();
}
}
For example, I want to draw something directly to an UIView. I need an CGContextRef, but I don't want to make a new one since that would eat up too much memory. Can I obtain the CGContextRef from an UIView?
Here's an obscure Friday Morning question:
Is it possible in LabVIEW to get the callees of a VI without loading the entire VI into memory? For instance, by reading static information from the binary?
Thanks
A bit more context, in case this question is too general: the uses I have in mind are running django and serving static content and name-based virtual hosting.
I am vaguely aware of the performance/resource tradeoffs between the different servers, but that is a secondary concern.
Anyone who has deployed all three in production?
I've been running STS 2.3.2 on a MacBook Pro for a few days now. I'm finding the performance to be significantly slower than any other build of Eclipse I've used. For example, switching from one tab to another can take up to 4 seconds.
I tried turning off much of the validation, and increasing the memory, but it's not making a difference.
Are others having similar experiences?
I'm getting crashes due to memory overwrites (possibly within STLport) running on Darwin. Totally out of ideas, what to do?
(Added this question so no-one else would run into the same trap without finding a viable answer.)
I'm trying to run jstack command on my java application. Application is rather big, running inside jboss AS occupying about 4gb of memory. OS is Windows Server 2003 Standard edition. Every time i get an error "Not enough storage is available to process this command". There is enough ram, 16gb, and disk space. So, any ideas?
Is it possible to persist an IList<DayOfWeek> using nHibernate?
public class Vendor
{
public virtual IList<DayOfWeek> OrderDays { get; private set; }
}
If not, what are some common solutions; creating a class for OrderDays?, using an IList<string>?
I have images of active report in database, when i get into bytes and convert into memory stream so it can pass to active report viewer then how i get paper size of paper display in active report?
My code :
Dim repmem As New System.IO.MemoryStream(rptBytes)
repmem.Position = 0
Viewer1.Document.Load(repmem)
