  • Google Anlytics event not firing

    I am not getting and event data in GA. I installed Google Analytics Debugger Chrome extension and I see nothing happening (same goes when looking at Network panel in developer tools). I Googled it and read many (many) other answers and it looks like I'm doing things right. Page views, etc. are registering correctly...   • JQuery/AJAX: Loading external DIVs using dynamic content

    I need to create a page that will load divs from an external page using Jquery and AJAX. I have come across a few good tutorials, but they are all based on static content, my links and content are generated by PHP. The main tutorial I am basing my code on is from: http://yensdesign.com/2008/12/how-to-load-content-via-ajax-in-jquery/ The exact function i need is as follows: Main page contains a permanent div listing some links containing a parameter. Upon click, link passes parameter to external page. External page filters recordset against parameter and populates div with results. The new div contains a new set of links with new parameters. The external div is loaded underneath the main pages first div. Process can then be repeated creating a chain of divs under each other. The last div in the chain will then direct to a new page collating all the previously used querystrings. I can handle all of the PHP work with populating the divs on the main and external pages.     Hi, i am very new at jquery and code, here i am trying to get the setTimeout event to be inside the .mouseout event but i'm not sure how to do that as i keep getting syntax error in my editor. Moving the mouse to the .slidedown div should keep it open until the mouse is removed. But will this code collapse the .slidedown div if the user doesn't mouse over .slidedown after .trigger but instead moves the mouse directly from .trigger to another area of page? I.e i need some kind of 'setTimeout' that is trigged only if the user doesn't move mouse over .slidedown after hovering over .trigger. Hope i make sense. Thanks for your help!

    How do I mark a method as "returns an instance of the current class" in my phpDoc? In the following example my IDE (Netbeans) will see that setSomething always returns a foo object. But that's not true if I extent the object - it'll return $this, which in the second example is a bar object not a foo object. class foo { protected $_value = null; /** * Set something * * @param string $value the value * @return foo */ public function setSomething($value) { $this->_value = $value; return $this; } } $foo = new foo(); $out = $foo->setSomething(); So fine - setSomething returns a foo - but in the following example, it returns a bar..: class bar extends foo { public function someOtherMethod(){} } $bar = new bar(); $out = $bar->setSomething(); $out->someOtherMethod(); // <-- Here, Netbeans will think $out // is a foo, so doesn't see this other // method in $out's code-completion ... it'd be great to solve this as for me, code completion is a massive speed-boost. Anyone got a clever trick, or even better, a proper way to document this with phpDoc?

  • How to track a projects extraneous quirks

    Hello, It's possible that the answer to this question may just be standard bug tracking software like jira or fogbugz, but I'm kind of hoping someone out there knows a better system for what I'm describing. My most current project is requiring a lot of setup quirkiness to get into a position where I can actually start a coding section. For example: A series of convoluted internal company commands before I can insitgate an SSH. Making sure any third party classes that make external calls have internal company proxy options setup - while also making sure these setting wont be set up when installed on a production environment Making sure the proxy is set before trying to install pear packages. Other similar things, mostly involving internal IT security and getting it to work with modules and packages. Individually none of these things is a huge deal, and I've written extensive notes to myself regarding exact commands and aditions I've made, but they're currently in a general text document and it's going to be hard to remember exactly where what I need is far down the line. We also have several new staff starting soon and I' rather give them an easier time of setting up their programming environments. Like I said, they aren't 'programming quirks' exactly, but just the constant fiddling that comes about before programming starts in earnest. Any thoughts on the best way to documents these things for my own and future generations sanity?

  • Why ajax doesn't work unless I refresh or use location.href?

    I am working on a html project, which will eventually package by Phonegap. So I am trying to encode the data from html form to JSON format, then use ajax send to a php file resides on server, and receive the response to do something else. Now I use <a href='login.html'> in my index.html to open the login page. Until I refresh the login page and enter data again, it can give an error message or go to the loginsuccess page. However, when I use <script> function loadLogin(){ location.href='login.html'; } </script> to open the login page, everything works well. So what cause this? How can I modify this piece of code to make it better?

  • Lucene Search Returning Extra, Undesired Records

    I have a Lucene index that contains a field called 'Name'. I escape all special characters before inserting a value into my index using QueryParser.Escape(value). In my example I have 2 documents with the following names respectively: Test Test (Test) They get inserted into my index as such (I can confirm this using Luke): [test] [test] [\(test\)] I insert these values as TOKENIZED and using the StandardAnalyzer. When I perform a search, I use the QueryParser.Escape(searchString) against my search string input to escape special characters and then use the QueryParser with my 'Name' field and the StandardAnalyzer to perform my search. When I perform a search for 'Test', I get back both documents in my index (as expected). However, when I perform a search for 'Test (Test)', I am getting back both documents still. I realize that in both examples it matches on the 'test' term in the index, but I am confused in my 2nd example why it would not just pull back the document with the value of 'Test (Test)' because my search should create two terms: [test] and [\(test\)] I would imagine it would perform some sort of boolean operator where BOTH terms must match in that situation so I would get back just one record. Is there something I am missing or a trick to make the search behave as desired?

  • Sorting CouchDB Views By Value

    Hi all, I'm testing out CouchDB to see how it could handle logging some search results. What I'd like to do is produce a view where I can produce the top queries from the results. At the moment I have something like this: Example document portion { "query": "+dangerous +dogs", "hits": "123" } Map function (Not exactly what I need/want but it's good enough for testing) function(doc) { if (doc.query) { var split = doc.query.split(" "); for (var i in split) { emit(split[i], 1); } } } Reduce Function function (key, values, rereduce) { return sum(values); } Now this will get me results in a format where a query term is the key and the count for that term on the right, which is great. But I'd like it ordered by the value, not the key. From the sounds of it, this is not yet possible with CouchDB. So does anyone have any ideas of how I can get a view where I have an ordered version of the query terms & their related counts? I'm very new to CouchDB and I just can't think of how I'd write the functions needed.

Can someone explain to me whats going on, I think it might be a syntax issue.

    I've heard that using el.innerText||el.textContent can yield unreliable results, and that's why I've always insisted on using the following function in the past: function getText(node) { if (node.nodeType === 3) { return node.data; } var txt = ''; if (node = node.firstChild) do { txt += getText(node); } while (node = node.nextSibling); return txt; } This function goes through all nodes within an element and gathers the text of all text nodes, and text within descendants: E.g. <div id="x">foo <em>foo...</em> foo</div> Result: getText(document.getElementById('x')); // => "foo foo... foo" I'm quite sure there are issues with using innerText and textContent, but I've not been able to find a definitive list anywhere and I am starting to wonder if it's just hearsay. Can anyone offer any information about the possibly lacking reliability of textContent/innerText?   • Adobe popping out of the browser

    Hi, Im building a web application that displays a xfdf document. When we are testing in adobe 5 and we can't stop adobe opening outside the webpage. The user clicks the report and it should open in the browser but instead it opens in adobe it appears to work in everything but adobe 5. We have previously done this with out any problems. Any ideas?     I am attempting to use jquery and CSS to animate the buttons of a navigation sidebar I am using to signify which button is selected when the mouse is hovered over each. Now that the .stop() has been applied, however, if the mouse is moved away from a button during its animation, the button will freeze and remain in its mid-animation state, unable to be fixed by being hovered over until the page is reloaded, rather than reverting to its original mouseleave state. From everything I've read, this should not be the case. Might anyone be able to tell why my animation queue becomes broken once the .stop() is applied?

    Hi, I have 2 TLF text boxes already placed on my main stage. In the property inspector window I give these the instance names: "txt1" and "txt2". I am trying to have a single mouseup event, and figure out which text box it occurred on. I tried setting the .name property, but it had no effect. In the publish settings, I have "Automatically declare stage instances" checked. Also, is it possible to have a single change event for multiple slider components?   • Multiple collections tied to one base collection with filters and eventing

    I have a complex model served from my back end, which has a bunch of regular attributes, some nested models, and a couple of collections. My page has two tables, one for invalid items, and one for valid items. The items in question are from one of the nested collections. Let's call it baseModel.documentCollection, implementing DocumentsCollection. I don't want any filtration code in my Marionette.CompositeViews, so what I've done is the following (note, duplicated for the 'valid' case): var invalidDocsCollection = new DocumentsCollection( baseModel.documentCollection.filter(function(item) { return !item.isValidItem(); }) ); var invalidTableView = new BookIn.PendingBookInRequestItemsCollectionView({ collection: app.collections.invalidDocsCollection }); layout.invalidDocsRegion.show(invalidTableView); This is fine for actually populating two tables independently, from one base collection. But I'm not getting the whole event pipeline down to the base collection, obviously. This means when a document's validity is changed, there's no neat way of it shifting to the other collection, therefore the other view. What I'm after is a nice way of having a base collection that I can have filter collections sit on top of. Any suggestions?
