  I have a collection_select that i want user to add custom fields to. I have a jQuery script that detects if the row "Custom" is chosen and adds a textfield to the page so the user can enter a custom name. • How to specify "PG-USERNAME" in pg_ident.conf so that it'll match any database user ?

  I need to restrict a specific unix user so that it can login with only a few select postgres usernames (with password prompt), but allowing every other user to use whatever pg username they want. • best way to make this app/website combo?

  I have an idea for an app that lets different bars upload drink specials via a webpage to that app. They would log in the website, and the website would prompt them with a box to input the drink specials. When they are done, the app pulls the information and creates a card for that bar. The app would launch into a week view where you select the day you want to see specials for. After the day is selected, it brings you to a scroll view with different bars' cards laid out vertically, each taking up the width of the screen, allowing the user to scroll through the deals for that day of the week. How should I go about doing this if I have very little programming experience? Is there any convention in doing an app like this? Can anyone suggest any reading material that would help? Thank you!

  I received a SSL cert to use for a Tomcat 6.0 server, ready to use. I configured Tomcat to use it with the following in server.xml: <Connector port="8443" maxThreads="200" scheme="https" secure="true" SSLEnabled="true" keystoreFile="C:\Tomcat 6.0\ssl\cert" keystorePass="*****" clientAuth="false" sslProtocol="TLS"/> I started Tomcat using the command prompt so I could see any error message as they happened. There were none. The results for accessing different URLS: http://localhost - normal page loads fine https://localhost - browser claims page cannot be found https://localhost:8443 - page cannot be found http://localhost:8443 - offers a certificate, after accepted redirects to https://localhost (I suspect the https:// urls initially offer the certificate which is automatically accepted by the browser, as it was issued by Verisign) How to fix? Edit: I've also tried port="443". Same result.

• Secure Menu Items Based on User

  On this winform application I am writing, I want to secure one menu item from most users. It runs a month-end and cannot be easily backed out if accidentally run. The menu option opens up a window to prompt the user for some information before processing. I don't care where exactly I do the check, but I want to be sure only certain users can run this function. A Google search (on my question title above) didn't turn up anything obvious. Can anyone point me in a direction to pick up who is signed into Windows and how to check if they are authorized?

• Creating folders and uploading a file without using a web browser

  I am using the Java Api We have a web application wherein we want our file to be uploaded on an on_click even on some submit button. We don't want the browser to prompt us to enter the username and password to get the access token. Instead, we can provide the username and the password through the code so that we get the access token and the file will be uploaded directly. Right now, OAuth 2 requires that we enter the username and password to be entered through the browser. Reading through the post, I see that we can authenticate for the first time, obtain a refresh token and then keep on refreshing that token periodically. But our application requirements does not allow for this work-flow. Is there any way to automate the process of entering the user credentials using Java code. or Is there any library that will keep the browser away from the process.

• Why does the compiler complain "while expected" when I try to add more code?

• Client-server application between two computers in the same network (using boost::asio)

  I'm trying to set up a basic communication between my desktop PC and my laptop (latter one using wireless connection) both being in the same network, using the boost::asio tutorials: synchronous client and synchronous server (in c++). When I run both the server and client on the same machine (using the localhost and the datetime port as parameters), it works splendidly. But if I try to set up the laptop as server (tested it with netstat -anb from the command prompt, it is indeed running and listening to port 13 as it's supposed to, and I even deactivated the firewall to make sure it doesn't cause any problems), I cannot connect to it with the client (set up on the PC), no matter what IP I tried (localhost, and basically any IPs that ipconfig -all gave me). So no matter what I tried, I cannot find the correct address that which the client can use to connect to the server. Could anyone help me please?

• I saved PuTTY password when logging in, how to unsave it?

  I mistakenly saved password first time logging to the server through PuTTY. How can I unsave the password? I don't want the password to be saved, instead I want to type the password everytime when I want to log in. Sorry that the question maybe confusing. The problem is I mistakenly click "yes" when PuTTY asked me to save the password or not. When logging in, it will prompt running "my username" and "my password". Apparently it will complain command not found. Just want to know where PuTTY stores my password so that I can delete it. Thanks,

WHERE book_id=".$book_id; This won't work, I also tried doing something like this as I'm told this makes it a bit more secure? : "UPDATE books SET readstatus='{$readstatus}', WHERE read_id='{read_id}'"; This does not prompt any errors, but no change is happeneing to the value in the DB, I'm guessing the syntax is incorrect.

But I don't know why it keeps reporting the http error 416. I searched in google and found the following description of the error but it doesn't seem to help much. HTTP ERROR 416 - Requested Range Not Satisfiable A 416 status code indicates that the server was unable to fulfill the request. This may be, for example, because the client asked for the 800th-900th bytes of a document, but the document was only 200 bytes long. It suggests me to use the --skip-broken option, I tried and the output is the same. I already tested many times, it just doesn't work when the --security option is used. What could be the possible cause for this problem?

  I just upgraded Ubuntu from 11.10 to 12.04. My rails app now returns the (passenger) error "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (111) (Mysql2::Error)". I get a similar error when I try to access mysql at the command line on my Ubuntu server using mysql -u root -p. I have mysql-server 5.5 installed. I've checked and mysql is not running. When I try to restart it, it fails. Dean Richardson Update: Thanks to quanta's suggestion, I looked at the /var/log/mysql/error.log file. I found error messages relating to pointers, fatal signals, and more stuff that I really couldn't make much sense of. I also found mysql man page references, however. One suggested that I try starting mysqld with the --innodb_force_recovery=# option, then attempt to dump (or drop) the offending/corrupted database or table. I worked through the escalating option levels one-by-one (innodb_force_recovery=1, innodb_force_recovery=2, etc.) This allowed me to successfully run mysql -u root -p from the command line and execute several commands. I was able to run queries on my production database, but any attempt to query, dump, or even drop my development database raised an error and led to me losing the connection to mysql. So I've made progress, but until I'm somehow able to drop or repair my development db I'm still unable to get my app to load. Any further advice or suggestions? Thanks! I couldn't just install it, since I don't have root privileges, but I was able to extract the package file. • Fedora 16 can connect to samba share using smbclient but not in nautilus 3.2.1

  I have a machine running Ubuntu 11.10 Server acting as a Samba server to share my home directory. Everything works fine on my Windows 7 machine, but on my Fedora 16 laptop, if I use Nautilus to try to access the share using smb://192.168.0.8/nathan in the location bar, it just has the loading cursor and does nothing. It never shows any errors, nothing. Using smbclient works just fine, but I'd like to get it working in Nautilus. I know that there can be problems with SELinux and Samba, so I created a file called booleans.local that contains samba_enable_home_dirs=1. • Using "route add" to tell my computer to use a direct ethernet connexion instead of wifi ?

  2 PCs are involved. Both are connected to the internet via Wifi on the same router. I can ping to/from each other and share folders flawlessly, but I'd like to be able to set a direct Ethernet link between them to speed up file transfers AND keep the Wifi connections (no gateway). So I plugged my RJ45 cable, and set up the connection. It works, but the PCs are only using this connection if one of them if disconnected from the Wifi. PC1 local address is 192.168.0.7 on its ethernet interface, and 192.168.1.21 on the wifi one. PC2 local address is 192.168.0.6 on its ethernet interface, and 192.168.1.22 on the wifi one. My question is : I'd like to using the route add command to tell PC1 to use the Ethernet interface when it needs to connect with PC2, by specifying "IF 2" at the end of the route add command. How can I do this ?   On Ubuntu, I installed libmemcached-dev using the following command: apt-get install libmemcached-dev Unfortunately it installs libmemcached version 0.31, and pylibmc requires that I compile with v 0.32+ to run, otherwise I get an import error. I've tried removing libmemcached-dev with apt-get --purge remove, then installing libmemcached v 0.38, then re-compiling pylibmc, but it still gives me the requires libmemcached v 0.32+ error.
