  • How to calculate the touch location with convertToWorldSpace?

    i would like to convert the touch location as a world coordinate in my tile game. With this code, i clicked on the right of the screen (so that my character walks in the tiled game, and the background goes slowly to the left) : - (void)ccTouchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { for( UITouch *touch in touches ) { CGPoint location = [touch locationInView: [touch view]]; location = [[CCDirector sharedDirector] convertToGL: location]; CGPoint test = [self convertToWorldSpace:location]; CCLOG(@"test : %.2g", test.x); The test log gives me : 50, 72, 1e+02, 2.6e+02, 4.2e+02, (and then goes down) 3.2e+02, 9.5, -1.9e+02, etc. Does anyone know why? I would like to calculate the "real" coordinate of the touch, so that i know when the character has to keep going (click on the right of its actual position) or if he has to turn and go backwards.     Is there any way, given a function passed as a parameter, to alter its input parameter string before evaluating it? Here's pseudo-code for what I'm hoping to achieve: test.func <- function(a, b) { # here I want to alter the b expression before evaluating it: b(..., val1=a) } Given the function call passed to b, I want to add in a as another parameter without needing to always specify ... in the b call. So the output from this test.func call should be: test.func(a="a", b=paste(1, 2)) "1" "2" "a"

  • NUnit - Multiple properties of the same name? Linking to requirements

    I'm linking all our our System Tests to test cases and to our Requirements. Every requirement has an ID. Every Test Case / System Tests tests a variety of requirements. Every module of code links to multiple requirements. I'm trying to find the best way to link every system test to its driving requirements. I was hoping to do something like: [NUnit.Framework.Property("Release", "6.0.0")] [NUnit.Framework.Property("Requirement", "FR50082")] [NUnit.Framework.Property("Requirement", "FR50084")] [NUnit.Framework.Property("Requirement", "FR50085")] [TestCase(....)] public void TestSomething(string a, string b...) However, that will break because Property is a Key-Value pair. The system will not allow me to have multiple Properties with the same key. The reason I'm wanting this is to be able to test specific requirements in our system if a module changes that touches these requirements. Rather than run over 1,000 system tests on every build, this would allow us to target what to test based on changes done to our code. Some system tests run upwards of 5 minutes (Enterprise healthcare system), so "Just run all of them" isn't a viable solution. We do that, but only before promoting through our environments. Thoughts?

As you can see I have a button1 on my form. When I click it I want it to display to me the structure of the table I selected in my treeview (a treeview node). Not too many details, just the name of the columns in my table, type of columns, primary keys. I've tried to follow many tutorials but I can t seem to manage it.

  • Why are we getting a WCF "Framing error" on some machines but not others

    We have just found we are getting “framing errors” (as reported by the WCF logs) when running our system on some customer test machine. It all works ok on our development machines. We have an abstract base class, with KnownType attributes for all its sub classes. One of it’s subclass is missing it’s DataContract attribute. However it all worked on our test machine! On the customers test machine, we got “framing error” showing up the WCF logs, this is not the error message I have seen in the past when missing a DataContract attribute, or a KnownType attribute. I wish to get to the bottom of this, as we can no longer have confidence in our ability to test the system before giving it to the customer until we can make our machines behave the some as the customer’s machines.   • Why can one null return be tested but another throws an exception?

    I want to test if an xml attribute is present. Given this: XmlAttributeCollection PG_attrColl = SomeNodeorAnother.Attributes; This first test works: if (null != PG_attrColl["SomeAttribute"]) "GetNamedItem" is supposed to return null, but the following test throws an exception complaining about the null it returns. if (null != PG_attrColl.GetNamedItem("SomeAttribute").Value;) Why the difference? Just curious.

  • Python unittest with expensive setup

    My test file is basically: class Test(unittest.TestCase): def testOk(): pass if __name__ == "__main__": expensiveSetup() try: unittest.main() finally: cleanUp() However, I do wish to run my test through Netbeans testing tools, and to do that I need unittests that don't rely on an environment setup done in main. Looking at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/402483/caching-result-of-setup-using-python-unittest - it recommends using Nose. However, I don't think Netbeans supports this. I didn't find any information indicating that it does. Additionally, I am the only one here actually writing tests, so I don't want to introduce additional dependencies for the other 2 developers unless they are needed. How can I do the setup and cleanup once for all the tests in my TestSuite? The expensive setup here is creating some files with dummy data, as well as setting up and tearing down a simple xml-rpc server. I also have 2 test classes, one testing locally and one testing all methods over xml-rpc.

  • Framework or tool for "distributed unit testing"?

    Is there any tool or framework able to make it easier to test distributed software written in Java? My system under test is a peer-to-peer software, and I'd like to perform testing using something like PNUnit, but with Java instead of .Net. The system under test is a framework I'm developing to build P2P applications. It uses JXTA as a lower subsystem, trying to hide some complexities of it. It's currently an academic project, so I'm pursuing simplicity at this moment. In my test, I want to demonstrate that a peer (running in its own process, possibly with multiple threads) can discover another one (running in another process or even another machine) and that they can exchange a few messages. I'm not using mocks nor stubs because I need to see both sides working simultaneously. I realize that some kind of coordination mechanism is needed, and PNUnit seems to be able to do that. I've bumped into some initiatives like Pisces, which "aims to provide a distributed testing environment that extends JUnit, giving the developer/tester an ability to run remote JUnits and create complex test suites that are composed of several remote JUnit tests running in parallel or serially", but this project and a few others I have found seem to be long dead.

But it's not called if the script is terminated with Ctrl-C. Is it possible to have the destructor called in this case also?

  • Does Ruby/Rails require more unit testing than say a PHP app?

    I don't find the unit testing push in the PHP market like I see/read in the ruby/rails arena. Could one just as easily NOT unit test in ruby/rails as in php, or is ruby just too bendable and breakable that it "more" recommended to test in ruby than in php? Meaning there are large code bases like vBulletin, and from what I can tell, they don't unit test. I hope you understand what I am asking here, not the pros/cons of testing, or whether one should test or not, but rather, does one language need to be tested more than another? maybe its easy to write buggy code, or break during refactoring etc.

Is an ArrayList as an instance variable automatically declared static?

    Hi, I posted this question on Three20 google group but did not get any response. So I thought I try this forum. I am using TTPhotoViewController to display photos. I am following sample code given in Three20 sample project: TTCatalog/PhotoTest1Controller.m. In my case some of the images are less than (320,480). The problem which I am facing is that when my image is 200*300 then TTPhotoViewController re-sizes it to full screen on load which distorts the image. I was wondering if there is a way to tell TTPhotoViewController to display image in its actual size and not to resize it. The only thing which I have changed is viewDidLoad function in PhotoTest1Controller.m.   • Mercurial Branching Model for task features

    My development env: Windows 7, TortoiseHg, ASP.NET 4.0/MVC3 Test branch: code on test server Prod branch: code on production server This is my current branching model. The reason to branch out every task (feature) is because some features go to live slower. So in above graph, task 1 finished earlier (changeset #5), and merge into test branch for testing. However, due to bug or modification of original request, changesets #10, #12 have been made. While task 2 has finished testing #8 and pushed to live #9 already. My problem is every time when modifying task branch (like #10, #12), I have to do another merge to test branch (#11, #13), this makes the graph very messy. Is there any way to solve this issue? Or any better branching model?

I say 'sort of', because the class needs to be able to run whatever function the test class is able to run, but NOT run the construct unless I ask it to. I do not want to override the construct. Obviously, since this is my app, there is none. At that point I create a full dump file of my application with for example Process Explorer. I then open that dmp file from its location and try to debug. But whatever I try, it can't find the location of the source symbols. I tried putting the pdb next to the dump but it just doesn't find it. What am I doing wrong?

    I've known that I should use -l option for liking objects using GCC. that is gcc -o test test.c -L./ -lmy But I found that "gcc -o test2 test.c libmy.so" is working, too. When I use readelf for those two executable I can't find any difference. Then why people use -l option for linking objects? Does it have any advantage?
