A few things to point out is that the title is coming from a variable escape(global_Current_ProductCode) variable=productcode in the case above it is LB30X40ES The height and weight, price and product id used in the second markup must be from the first markup. Note that these change depending on the product loaded. These are not constants. I would guess the first thing to do was to add the thickbox class. Then I am lost as to what to do next. Basically I need to open up an thickbox iframe with the modified markup.

• Generate custom marker (icon) out of two images in Leaflet

  In Javascript/CoffeeScript, using Leaflet to display a map, I would like to have custom markers out of a two custom images, and also featuring a shadow for the pin : I want to have a "background" image with a color (or shape) to identify the category On top, I want to have inside this image a specific image (logo) for each pin I didn't find out how I could do that... Setting one image is quite easy but I don't know how to overlay them. I could also consider using a tool to superpose/group/overlay these images (locally ?) before in order to send only one to the Icon Leaflet Class, but also there, I wouldn't know which tool to use. Nevertheless, I still think that a double overlay would be more efficient and that my case could be useful for several people.

• How to open an html file using the default file handler and to give the window a name (i.e. target)?

  I am writing a warm-up script for a SharePoint server. The idea is to call stsadm and then open an html file containing iframes which touch all the key web pages in my portal. So far so good. The problem is that each time the script is run, a new browser window is opened and I end up with a screen full of browsers. The first idea was to close the browser after 10 minutes or so. This would be easy to do except that Javascript is disabled when an html file is opened from the file system. I then thought I might be able to open the file and set it in a named window (target) which would be reused each time the script runs but I haven't found any way to do this. Does anyone have any ideas? Either to force JS to run or to set the window name or another solution? Thanks.

  I'm only going to be able to get each site that wants my widget, to copy and paste the code block in once.. So it needs to be really future proof. • iPhone/Safari: fixed div sticks in the middle of the page when coming back by "history.back(-1)"

  Having a problem with fixed div using iPhone's Safari. I know that in iOS 5 the functionality for position:fixed have been added. My div is positioned at the top of the screen and behave pretty good, anyway, there are some bugs during scrolling. But what actually makes me angry - it is the position of this div after coming back to the current page clicking on javascript:history.back(-1) link. The fixed div sticks in the middle of a screen. When I try to scrool, it jumps back on the right position. Is there any cure for the bug?

  Well, I keep putting semantic information about what an element means for the page logically in the class attribute <li class="phone-number">555-5555</li> It seems to work for this dual purpose of hanging semantic information and a pointer to how to style it. I'm not sure if this is the best idea, I'm trying to see if others have other ways of doing it.   Using Javascript / jQuery, I'm trying to build a "combination checker" that will take the values of three (but can be more) dropdown lists and filter the options based on a supplied list of allowed combinations. For example: DROPDOWNS Field 1: - value_1 - value_2 Field 2: - value_3 Field 3: - value_4 - value_5 COMBINATIONS - value_1, value_3, value_5 - value_1, value_3, value_4 - value_2, value_3, value_5 When a user selects Field 3 - value_4, the unavailable options will be disabled - ie, Field 1 - value_2 (there is no combination that allows value_2 and value_4 to be selected together). It would be really great if someone could provide some pointers on how this can be achieved or just provide a fresh perspective - I'm going round in circles on this one!

• Updating a popup window from source page

  I have a list of people wrapped in a-tags with onclick for opening a popup window. That popup window contains a previous and next button that invoker a function in the parent window to get the previous/next a-tag and execute the onclick for it. nextAnchor.onclick(); This should update the popup window with the new persons info, but it doesn't update. Adding an alert("") right after makes it update. What i found searching is something about having to leaving the session before JavaScript will update the display and they suggested using setTimeout. Problem is i'm calling on a DOM element and i can't send it in to the setTimeout, so i ended up with setTimeout('eval("'+nextAnchor.getAttribute("onClick")+'")',10); So is there another way to make it update or a way of making the setTimeout use the onclick of a DOM element or is this an acceptable solution even though it uses eval?

I want to get the hand openness, and I am running into some issues - no matter what, the hand.openness returns 0. It otherwise runs quite well... • How to normalize SVG path data (cross browser)?

  I have tried to find a way to implement cross browser path normalizer. There IS a native way which is described here and functional example is here, but it works only in newest Opera (but not in IE, FF, Safari, Chrome). The native way uses pathElm.normalizedPathSegList and it converts all relative coordinates to absolute ones and represents all path segment types as a following subset of types: M,L,C,z. I have found only one javascript code and jsfiddled functional example of it, but it works only in IE and FF. Chrome gives "Uncaught Error: INDEX_SIZE_ERR: DOM Exception 1". How this could be fixed to work also in Opera, Safari and Chrome or is there any other way for normalizing SVG paths?

• Embed external website inside a page

  I'd like to load something from website B into a page on website A and contain the functionality of website B within a container on website A. I tried doing this using a div and jQuery's load() method but I run into cross-domain-scripting issues (I think, it works with a local file but not a remote URL). I also tried using an iframe but strange things happen (for example, when a link is clicked in the "contained" website B, it reloads the entire browser, losing the content of website A). I've read about some server-side ways of handling this (and it may just come to that) but ideally I want something completely client side, JavaScript and HTML. Any ideas?

• Can I put google map functions into a closure?

  I am trying to write some google map functionlity and playing around with javascript closures with an aim to try organise and structure my code better. • How to split the chance to display SWFs evenly among banner collection?

  Hi all: I am working on The ausdcf.org to try adding several banner ads in swf format to the top. Everything starts to work, but I've got several questions that need your help: The client chose not to go with Google AdManager, but prefer a "minimal approach" to do this task. What I am trying to do is sort of "mimicking" the way Google AdManager does for banners, that is, to split the chance of each particular swf to be shown to the visitor evenly among the banner collection. Definitely I can add some jQuery code to do this from client-side, a random number generator and if-else statement would work - just $.load() it! However, what if I'd like to make sure those disabled Javascript (is there any now btw?) still be able to see different swfs in each visit. Any suggestion on how to approach this? • Getting all selected checkboxes in an array

There are about 6 of them and are hand-coded (i.e not fetched from a db) so they are likely to remain the same for a while. My question is how I can get them all in an array (in javascript), so I can use them while making an AJAX $.post request using Jquery. Any thoughts? Edit: I would only want the selected checkboxes to be added to the array

• node.js storing gamestate, how?

  I'm writing a game in javascript, and to prevent cheating, i'm having the game be played on the server (it's a board game like a more complicated checkers). Since the game is fairly complex, I need to store the gamestate in order to validate client actions. Is it possible to store the gamestate in memory? Is that smart? Should I do that? If so, how? I don't know how that would work. I can also store in redis. And that sort of thing is pretty familiar to me and requires no explanation. But if I do store in redis, the problem is that on every single move, the game would need to get the data from redis and interpret and parse that data in order to recreate the gamestate from scratch. But since moves happen very frequently this seems very stupid to me. What should I do?

  I have a "description textarea" inside a form where user may enter a description for an item. This is validated with javascript before the form beeing submitted. One of the validation-steps is this: else if (!fld.value.match(desExp)){ And desExp: var desExp = /^\s*(\w[^\w]*){3}.*$/gm; Now my problem, this works fine on all cases except for descriptions where the description BEGINS with a special character of the swedish language (å, ä, ö).   It's common to want browsers to cache resources - JavaScript, CSS, images, etc. until there is a new version available, and then ensure that the browser fetches and caches the new version instead. One solution is to embed a version number in the resource's filename, but will placing the resources to be managed in this way in a directory with a revision number in it do the same thing? Is the whole URL to the file used as a key in the browser's cache, or is it just the filename itself and some meta-data? If my code changes from fetching '/r20/example.js' to '/r21/example.js', can I be sure that revision 20 of example.js was cached, but now revision 21 has been fetched instead and it is now cached?

• jQuery: Scroll the window then addClass() - how to callback

  Inside a jQuery event handler, I would like to scroll the window and then add a class to something. This is my code: $('#foo').click(function() { window.scrollTo(y); $('#bar').addClass('active'); }); $(window).scroll(function() { $('#bar').removeClass('active'); }); Notice I have another handler to remove that same class whenever the window is scrolled. The scrolling part works fine, but seems to run asynchronously, so removeClass() happens after addClass() but before the scrolling is finished. I don't know how to do this in plain javascript. I know there is a jQuery scrollTop() function that does the same thing (but seems to have cross-browser issues), but it doesn't accept a callback. What I really need is a callback to add the class after the scrolling is finished. thanks!
