  • Get the count of A -> B and B->A without duplicates

    - by TomGasson
    I have a table like so: index|from | to ------------------ 1 | ABC | DEF 2 | ABC | GHI 3 | ABC | GHI 4 | ABC | JKL 5 | ABC | JKL 6 | ABC | JKL 7 | DEF | ABC 8 | DEF | GHI 9 | DEF | JKL 10 | GHI | ABC 11 | GHI | ABC 12 | GHI | ABC 13 | JKL | DEF And I need to count how the total times between the points (regardless of direction) to get the result: A | B | count ----------------- ABC | DEF | 2 ABC | GHI | 5 ABC | JKL | 3 DEF | GHI | 1 DEF | JKL | 2 So far I can get: SELECT `a`.`from` as `A`, `a`.`to` as `B`, (`a`.`count` + `b`.`count`) as `count` FROM (SELECT `from`, `to`, count(*) as `count` FROM `table` GROUP BY 1,2) `a` LEFT OUTER JOIN (SELECT `from`,`to`, count(*) as `count` FROM `table` GROUP BY 1,2) `b` ON `a`.`from` = `b`.`to` AND `a`.`to` = `b`.`from` But I'm unsure how to remove the A/B swapped duplicates.

  • Can I configure Eclipse / JBoss integration so it does not rely on deploying Jars to the "server/def

    - by kellyfj
    I am using MyEclipse 7.5 with JBoss 4.2.3 GA. When I define my local development JBoss server in MyEclipse it always wants to deploy jars, wars etc. to the "server/default/deploy" directory. Unfortunately our JBoss directory structure for production is "server/XYZ/deploy/abc" (driven by a third party). As a result our Dev JBoss instances are different from our QA/Staging/Production JBoss instances. Is there a way to configure Eclipse to use JBoss but deploy to that specific folder path "server/XYZ/deploy/abc" rather than the default one "server/default/deploy"?

  • How to call same method for a list of objects?

    - by Dmitry
    Suppose code like this: class Base: def start(self): pass def stop(self) pass class A(Base): def start(self): ... do something for A def stop(self) .... do something for A class B(Base): def start(self): def stop(self): a1 = A(); a2 = A() b1 = B(); b2 = B() all = [a1, b1, b2, a2,.....] Now I want to call methods start and stop (maybe also others) for each object in the list all. Is there any elegant way for doing this except of writing a bunch of functions like def start_all(all): for item in all: item.start() def stop_all(all): .....

  • Calling methods in super class constructor of subclass constructor?

    - by deamon
    Calling methods in super class constructor of subclass constructor? Passing configuration to the __init__ method which calls register implicitely: class Base: def __init__(self, *verbs=("get", "post")): self._register(verbs) def _register(self, *verbs): pass class Sub(Base): def __init__(self): super().__init__("get", "post", "put") Or calling register explicitely in the subclass' __init__ method: class Base: def __init__(self): self._register("get", "post") def _register(self, *verbs): pass class Sub(Base): def __init__(self): _register("get", "post", "put") What is better or more pythonic? Or is it only a matter of taste?

  • Python - what's your conventions to declare your attributes in a class ?

    - by SeyZ
    Hello, In Python, I can declare attributes all over the class. For example : class Foo: def __init__(self): self.a = 0 def foo(self): self.b = 0 It's difficult to retrieve all attributes in my class when I have a big class with a lot of attributes. Is it better to have the following code (a) or the next following code (b) : a) Here, it's difficult to locate all attributes : class Foo: def __init__(self): foo_1() foo_2() def foo_1(self): self.a = 0 self.b = 0 def foo_2(self): self.c = 0 b) Here, it's easy to locate all attributes but is it beautiful ? class Foo: def __init__(self): (self.a, self.b) = foo_1() self.c = foo_2() def foo_1(self): a = 0 b = 0 return (a, b) def foo_2(self): c = 0 return c In a nutshell, what is your conventions to declare your attributes in a class ?

  • Create unique identifier for different row-groups

    - by Max van der Heijden
    I want to number certain combinations of row in a dataframe (which is ordered on ID and on Time) tc <- textConnection(' id time end_yn number abc 10 0 1 abc 11 0 2 abc 12 1 3 abc 13 0 1 def 10 0 1 def 15 1 2 def 16 0 1 def 17 0 2 def 18 1 3 ') test <- read.table(tc, header=TRUE) The goal is to create a new column ("journey_nr") that give a unique number to each row based on the journey it belongs to. Journeys are defined as a sequence of rows per id up until to end_yn == 1, also if end_ynnever becomes 1, the journey should also be numbered (see the expected outcome example). It is only possible to have end_yn == 0 journeys at the end of a collection of rows for an ID (as shown at row 4 for id 3). So either no end_yn == 1 has occured for that ID or that happened before the end_yn == 0-journey (see id == abc in the example). I know how to number using the data.table package, but I do not know which columns to combine in order to get the expected outcome. I've searched the data.table-tag on SO, but could not find a similar problem. Expected outcome: id time end_yn number journey abc 10 0 1 1 abc 11 0 2 1 abc 12 1 3 1 abc 13 0 1 2 def 10 0 1 3 def 15 1 2 3 def 16 0 1 4 def 17 0 2 4 def 18 1 3 4

  • How to call a generic method with an anonymous type involving generics?

    - by Alex Black
    I've got this code that works: def testTypeSpecialization = { class Foo[T] def add[T](obj: Foo[T]): Foo[T] = obj def addInt[X <% Foo[Int]](obj: X): X = { add(obj) obj } val foo = addInt(new Foo[Int] { def someMethod: String = "Hello world" }) assert(true) } But, I'd like to write it like this: def testTypeSpecialization = { class Foo[T] def add[X, T <% Foo[X](obj: T): T = obj val foo = add(new Foo[Int] { def someMethod: String = "Hello world" }) assert(true) } This second one fails to compile: no implicit argument matching parameter type (Foo[Int]{ ... }) = Foo[Nothing] was found. Basically: I'd like to create a new anonymous class/instance on the fly (e.g. new Foo[Int] { ... } ), and pass it into an "add" method which will add it to a list, and then return it The key thing here is that the variable from "val foo = " I'd like its type to be the anonymous class, not Foo[Int], since it adds methods (someMethod in this example) Any ideas? I think the 2nd one fails because the type Int is being erased. I can apparently 'hint' the compiler like this: def testTypeSpecialization = { class Foo[T] def add[X, T <% Foo[X]](dummy: X, obj: T): T = obj val foo = add(2, new Foo[Int] { def someMethod: String = "Hello world" }) assert(true) }

  • Why does the Scala compiler disallow overloaded methods with default arguments?

    - by soc
    While there might be valid cases where such method overloadings could become ambiguous, why does the compiler disallow code which is neither ambiguous at compile time nor at run time? Example: // This fails: def foo(a: String)(b: Int = 42) = a + b def foo(a: Int) (b: Int = 42) = a + b // This fails, too. Even if there is no position in the argument list, // where the types are the same. def foo(a: Int) (b: Int = 42) = a + b def foo(a: String)(b: String = "Foo") = a + b // This is OK: def foo(a: String)(b: Int) = a + b def foo(a: Int) (b: Int = 42) = a + b // Even this is OK. def foo(a: Int)(b: Int) = a + b def foo(a: Int)(b: String = "Foo") = a + b val bar = foo(42)_ // This complains obviously ... Are there any reasons why these restrictions can't be loosened a bit? Especially when converting heavily overloaded Java code to Scala default arguments are a very important and it isn't nice to find out after replacing plenty of Java methods by one Scala methods that the spec/compiler imposes arbitrary restrictions.

  • Cannot get principal id on my Spock test

    - by Ant's
    I have a controller like this : @Secured(['ROLE_USER','IS_AUTHENTICATED_FULLY']) def userprofile(){ def user = User.get(springSecurityService.principal.id) params.id = user.id redirect (action : "show", params:params) } I want to test the controller above controller in spock, so I wrote a test code like this: def 'userProfile test'() { setup: mockDomain(User,[new User(username:"amtoasd",password:"blahblah")]) when: controller.userprofile() then: response.redirectUrl == "/user/show/1" } When I run my test, this test fails with this error message : java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot get property 'principal' on null object at mnm.schedule.UserController.userprofile(UserController.groovy:33) And in case of Integration test: class UserSpec extends IntegrationSpec { def springSecurityService def 'userProfile test'() { setup: def userInstance = new User(username:"antoaravinth",password:"secrets").save() def userInstance2 = new User(username:"antoaravinthas",password:"secrets").save() def usercontroller = new UserController() usercontroller.springSecurityService = springSecurityService when: usercontroller.userprofile() then: response.redirectUrl == "/user/sho" } } I get the same error as well. What went wrong? Thanks in advance.

  • Best practice with pyGTK and Builder XML files

    - by Phoenix87
    I usually design GUI with Glade, thus producing a series of Builder XML files (one such file for each application window). Now my idea is to define a class, e.g. MainWindow, that inherits from gtk.Window and that implements all the signal handlers for the application main window. The problem is that when I retrieve the main window from the containing XML file, it is returned as a gtk.Window instance. The solution I have adopted so far is the following: I have defined a class "Window" in the following way class Window(): def __init__(self, win_name): builder = gtk.Builder() self.builder = builder builder.add_from_file("%s.glade" % win_name) self.window = builder.get_object(win_name) builder.connect_signals(self) def run(self): return self.window.run() def show_all(self): return self.window.show_all() def destroy(self): return self.window.destroy() def child(self, name): return self.builder.get_object(name) In the actual application code I have then defined a new class, say MainWindow, that inherits frow Window, and that looks like class Main(Window): def __init__(self): Window.__init__(self, "main") ### Signal handlers ##################################################### def on_mnu_file_quit_activated(self, widget, data = None): ... The string "main" refers to the main window, called "main", which resides into the XML Builder file "main.glade" (this is a sort of convention I decided to adopt). So the question is: how can I inherit from gtk.Window directly, by defining, say, the class Foo(gtk.Window), and recast the return value of builder.get_object(win_name) to Foo?

  • How do I prevent other dynamic bodies from affecting the player's velocity with Box2D?

    - by Milo
    I'm working on my player object for my game. PhysicsBodyDef def; def.fixedRotation = true; def.density = 1.0f; def.position = Vec2(200.0f, 200.0f); def.isDynamic = true; def.size = Vec2(50.0f,200.0f); m_player.init(def,&m_physicsEngine.getWorld()); This is how he moves: b2Vec2 vel = getBody()->GetLinearVelocity(); float desiredVel = 0; if (m_keys[ALLEGRO_KEY_A] || m_keys[ALLEGRO_KEY_LEFT]) { desiredVel = -5; } else if (m_keys[ALLEGRO_KEY_D] || m_keys[ALLEGRO_KEY_RIGHT]) { desiredVel = 5; } else { desiredVel = 0; } float velChange = desiredVel - vel.x; float impulse = getBody()->GetMass() * velChange; //disregard time factor getBody()->ApplyLinearImpulse( b2Vec2(impulse,0), getBody()->GetWorldCenter(),true); This creates a few problems. First, to move the player at a constant speed he must be given a high velocity. The problem with this is if he just comes in contact with a small box, he makes it move a lot. Now, I can fix this by lowering his density, but then comes my main issue: I need other objects to be able to run into him, but when they do, he should be like a static wall and not move. I'm not sure how to do that without high density. I cannot use collision groups since I still need him to be solid toward other dynamic things. How can this be done? Essentially, how do I prevent other dynamic bodies from affecting the player's velocity?

  • Inheritance vs composition in this example

    - by Gerenuk
    I'm wondering about the differences between inheritance and composition examined with concrete code relevant arguments. In particular my example was Inheritance: class Do: def do(self): self.doA() self.doB() def doA(self): pass def doB(self): pass class MyDo(Do): def doA(self): print("A") def doB(self): print("B") x=MyDo() vs Composition: class Do: def __init__(self, a, b): self.a=a self.b=b def do(self): self.a.do() self.b.do() x=Do(DoA(), DoB()) (Note for composition I'm missing code so it's not actually shorter) Can you name particular advantages of one or the other? I'm think of: composition is useful if you plan to reuse DoA() in another context inheritance seems easier; no additional references/variables/initialization method doA can access internal variable (be it a good or bad thing :) ) inheritance groups logic A and B together; even though you could equally introduce a grouped delegate object inheritance provides a preset class for the users; with composition you'd have to encapsule the initialization in a factory so that the user does have to assemble the logic and the skeleton ... Basically I'd like to examine the implications of inheritance vs composition. I heard often composition is prefered, but I'd like to understand that by example. Of course I can always start with one and refactor later to the other.

  • How to match responses from a server with their corresponding requests? [closed]

    - by Deele
    There is a server that responds to requests on a socket. The client has functions to emit requests and functions to handle responses from the server. The problem is that the request sending function and the response handling function are two unrelated functions. Given a server response X, how can I know whether it's a response to request X or some other request Y? I would like to make a construct that would ensure that response X is definitely the answer to request X and also to make a function requestX() that returns response X and not some other response Y. This question is mostly about the general programming approach and not about any specific language construct. Preferably, though, the answer would involve Ruby, TCP sockets, and PHP. My code so far: require 'socket' class TheConnection def initialize(config) @config = config end def send(s) toConsole("--> #{s}") @conn.send "#{s}\n", 0 end def connect() # Connect to the server begin @conn = TCPSocket.open(@config['server'], @config['port']) rescue Interrupt rescue Exception => detail toConsole('Exception: ' + detail.message()) print detail.backtrace.join('\n') retry end end def getSpecificAnswer(input) send "GET #{input}" end def handle_server_input(s) case s.strip when /^Hello. (.*)$/i toConsole "[ Server says hello ]" send "Hello to you too! #{$1}" else toConsole(s) end end def main_loop() while true ready = select([@conn, $stdin], nil, nil, nil) next if !ready for s in ready[0] if s == $stdin then return if $stdin.eof s = $stdin.gets send s elsif s == @conn then return if @conn.eof s = @conn.gets handle_server_input(s) end end end end def toConsole(msg) t = Time.new puts t.strftime("[%H:%M:%S]") + ' ' + msg end end @config = Hash[ 'server'=>'test.server.com', 'port'=>'2020' ] $conn = TheConnection.new(@config) $conn.connect() $conn.getSpecificAnswer('itemsX') begin $conn.main_loop() rescue Interrupt rescue Exception => detail $conn.toConsole('Exception: ' + detail.message()) print detail.backtrace.join('\n') retry end

  • Why Does .Hide()ing and .Show()ing Panels in wxPython Result in the Sizer Changing the Layout?

    - by MetaHyperBolic
    As referenced in my previous question, I am trying to make something slightly wizard-like in function. I have settled on a single frame with a sizer added to it. I build panels for each of the screens I would like users to see, add them to the frame's sizer, then switch between panels by .Hide()ing one panel, then calling a custom .ShowYourself() on the next panel. Obviously, I would like the buttons to remain in the same place as the user progresses through the process. I have linked together two panels in an infinite loop by their "Back" and "Next" buttons so you can see what is going on. The first panel looks great; tom10's code worked on that level, as it eschewed my initial, over-fancy attempt with borders flying every which way. And then the second panel seems to have shrunk down to the bare minimum. As we return to the first panel, the shrinkage has occurred here as well. Why does it look fine on the first panel, but not after I return there? Why is calling .Fit() necessary if I do not want a 10 pixel by 10 pixel wad of grey? And if it is necessary, why does .Fit() give inconsistent results? This infinite loop seems to characterize my experience with this: I fix the layout on a panel, only to find that switching ruins the layout for other panels. I fix that problem, by using sizer_h.Add(self.panel1, 0) instead of sizer_h.Add(self.panel1, 1, wx.EXPAND), and now my layouts are off again. So far, my "solution" is to add a mastersizer.SetMinSize((475, 592)) to each panel's master sizer (commented out in the code below). This is a cruddy solution because 1) I have had to find the numbers that work by trial and error (-5 pixels for the width, -28 pixels for the height). 2) I don't understand why the underlying issue still happens. What's the correct, non-ugly solution? Instead of adding all of the panels to the frame's sizer at once, should switching panels involve .Detach()ing that panel from the frame's sizer and then .Add()ing the next panel to the frame's sizer? Is there a .JustMakeThisFillThePanel() method hiding somewhere I have missed in both the wxWidgets and the wxPython documents online? I'm obviously missing something in my mental model of layout. Here's a TinyURL link, if I can't manage to embed the . Minimalist code pasted below. import wx import sys class My_App(wx.App): def OnInit(self): self.frame = My_Frame(None) self.frame.Show() self.SetTopWindow(self.frame) return True def OnExit(self): print 'Dying ...' class My_Frame(wx.Frame): def __init__(self, image, parent=None,id=-1, title='Generic Title', pos=wx.DefaultPosition, style=wx.CAPTION | wx.STAY_ON_TOP): size = (480, 620) wx.Frame.__init__(self, parent, id, 'Program Title', pos, size, style) sizer_h = wx.BoxSizer(wx.HORIZONTAL) self.panel0 = User_Interaction0(self) sizer_h.Add(self.panel0, 1, wx.EXPAND) self.panel1 = User_Interaction1(self) sizer_h.Add(self.panel1, 1, wx.EXPAND) self.SetSizer(sizer_h) self.panel0.ShowYourself() def ShutDown(self): self.Destroy() class User_Interaction0(wx.Panel): def __init__(self, parent, id=-1): wx.Panel.__init__(self, parent, id) # • Python - Bitmap won't draw/display

    I have been working on this project for some time now - it was originally supposed to be a test to see if, using wxPython, I could build a button 'from scratch.' From scratch means: that i would have full control over all the aspects of the button (i.e. controlling the BMP's that are displayed... what the event handlers did... etc.) I have run into several problems (as this is my first major python project.) Now, when the all the code is working for the life of me I can't get an image to display. Basic code - not working dc = wx.BufferedPaintDC(self) dc.SetFont(self.GetFont()) dc.SetBackground(wx.Brush(self.GetBackgroundColour())) dc.Clear() dc.DrawBitmap(wx.Bitmap("/home/wallter/Desktop/Mouseover.bmp"), 100, 100) self.Refresh() self.Update() Full Main.py import wx from Custom_Button import Custom_Button from wxPython.wx import * ID_ABOUT = 101 ID_EXIT = 102 class MyFrame(wx.Frame): def __init__(self, parent, ID, title): wxFrame.__init__(self, parent, ID, title, wxDefaultPosition, wxSize(400, 400)) self.CreateStatusBar() self.SetStatusText("Program testing custom button overlays") menu = wxMenu() menu.Append(ID_ABOUT, "&About", "More information about this program") menu.AppendSeparator() menu.Append(ID_EXIT, "E&xit", "Terminate the program") menuBar = wxMenuBar() menuBar.Append(menu, "&File"); self.SetMenuBar(menuBar) # The call for the 'Experiential button' self.Button1 = Custom_Button(parent, -1, wx.Point(100, 100), wx.Bitmap("/home/wallter/Desktop/Mouseover.bmp"), wx.Bitmap("/home/wallter/Desktop/Normal.bmp"), wx.Bitmap("/home/wallter/Desktop/Click.bmp")) # The following three lines of code are in place to try to get the # Button1 to display (trying to trigger the Paint event (the _onPaint.) # Because that is where the 'draw' functions are. self.Button1.Show(true) self.Refresh() self.Update() # Because the Above three lines of code did not work, I added the # following four lines to trigger the 'draw' functions to test if the # '_onPaint' method actually worked. # These lines do not work. dc = wx.BufferedPaintDC(self) dc.SetFont(self.GetFont()) dc.SetBackground(wx.Brush(self.GetBackgroundColour())) dc.DrawBitmap(wx.Bitmap("/home/wallter/Desktop/Mouseover.bmp"), 100, 100) EVT_MENU(self, ID_ABOUT, self.OnAbout) EVT_MENU(self, ID_EXIT, self.TimeToQuit) def OnAbout(self, event): dlg = wxMessageDialog(self, "Testing the functions of custom " "buttons using pyDev and wxPython", "About", wxOK | wxICON_INFORMATION) dlg.ShowModal() dlg.Destroy() def TimeToQuit(self, event): self.Close(true) class MyApp(wx.App): def OnInit(self): frame = MyFrame(NULL, -1, "wxPython | Buttons") frame.Show(true) self.SetTopWindow(frame) return true app = MyApp(0) app.MainLoop() Full CustomButton.py import wx from wxPython.wx import * class Custom_Button(wx.PyControl): def __init__(self, parent, id, Pos, Over_BMP, Norm_BMP, Push_BMP, **kwargs): wx.PyControl.__init__(self,parent, id, **kwargs) self.Bind(wx.EVT_LEFT_DOWN, self._onMouseDown) self.Bind(wx.EVT_LEFT_UP, self._onMouseUp) self.Bind(wx.EVT_LEAVE_WINDOW, self._onMouseLeave) self.Bind(wx.EVT_ENTER_WINDOW, self._onMouseEnter) self.Bind(wx.EVT_ERASE_BACKGROUND,self._onEraseBackground) self.Bind(wx.EVT_PAINT,self._onPaint) self.pos = Pos self.Over_bmp = Over_BMP self.Norm_bmp = Norm_BMP self.Push_bmp = Push_BMP self._mouseIn = False self._mouseDown = False def _onMouseEnter(self, event): self._mouseIn = True def _onMouseLeave(self, event): self._mouseIn = False def _onMouseDown(self, event): self._mouseDown = True def _onMouseUp(self, event): self._mouseDown = False self.sendButtonEvent() def sendButtonEvent(self): event = wx.CommandEvent(wx.wxEVT_COMMAND_BUTTON_CLICKED, self.GetId()) event.SetInt(0) event.SetEventObject(self) self.GetEventHandler().ProcessEvent(event) def _onEraseBackground(self,event): # reduce flicker pass def Iz(self): dc = wx.BufferedPaintDC(self) dc.DrawBitmap(self.Norm_bmp, 100, 100) def _onPaint(self, event): # The printing functions, they should work... but don't. dc = wx.BufferedPaintDC(self) dc.SetFont(self.GetFont()) dc.SetBackground(wx.Brush(self.GetBackgroundColour())) dc.Clear() dc.DrawBitmap(self.Norm_bmp) # This never printed... I don't know if that means if the EVT # is triggering or what. print '_onPaint' # draw whatever you want to draw # draw glossy bitmaps e.g. dc.DrawBitmap if self._mouseIn: # If the Mouse is over the button dc.DrawBitmap(self.Over_bmp, self.pos) else: # Since the mouse isn't over it Print the normal one # This is adding on the above code to draw the bmp # in an attempt to get the bmp to display; to no avail. dc.DrawBitmap(self.Norm_bmp, self.pos) if self._mouseDown: # If the Mouse clicks the button dc.DrawBitmap(self.Push_bmp, self.pos) This code won't work? I get no BMP displayed why? How do i get one? I've gotten the staticBitmap(...) to display one, but it won't move, resize, or anything for that matter... - it's only in the top left corner of the frame? Note: the frame is 400pxl X 400pxl - and the "/home/wallter/Desktop/Mouseover.bmp"

    - by Superflux
    I'm having a runtime errror when i'm looking at the "workers" tab on resque-web (localhost). Everything else works. Edit: when this error occurs, i also have some (3 or 4) unknown workers 'not working'. I think they are responsible for the error but i don't understand how they got here Can you help me on this ? Did i do something wrong ? • Make Python Socket Server More Efficient

    - by BenMills
    I have very little experience working with sockets and multithreaded programming so to learn more I decided to see if I could hack together a little python socket server to power a chat room. I ended up getting it working pretty well but then I noticed my server's CPU usage spiked up over 100% when I had it running in the background. Here is my code in full: http://gist.github.com/332132 I know this is a pretty open ended question so besides just helping with my code are there any good articles I could read that could help me learn more about this? My full code: import select import socket import sys import threading from daemon import Daemon class Server: def __init__(self): self.host = '' self.port = 9998 self.backlog = 5 self.size = 1024 self.server = None self.threads = [] self.send_count = 0 def open_socket(self): try: self.server = socket.socket(socket.AF_INET6, socket.SOCK_STREAM) self.server.setsockopt(socket.SOL_SOCKET, socket.SO_REUSEADDR, 1) self.server.bind((self.host,self.port)) self.server.listen(5) print "Server Started..." except socket.error, (value,message): if self.server: self.server.close() print "Could not open socket: " + message sys.exit(1) def remove_thread(self, t): t.join() def send_to_children(self, msg): self.send_count = 0 for t in self.threads: t.send_msg(msg) print 'Sent to '+str(self.send_count)+" of "+str(len(self.threads)) def run(self): self.open_socket() input = [self.server,sys.stdin] running = 1 while running: inputready,outputready,exceptready = select.select(input,[],[]) for s in inputready: if s == self.server: # handle the server socket c = Client(self.server.accept(), self) c.start() self.threads.append(c) print "Num of clients: "+str(len(self.threads)) self.server.close() for c in self.threads: c.join() class Client(threading.Thread): def __init__(self,(client,address), server): threading.Thread.__init__(self) self.client = client self.address = address self.size = 1024 self.server = server self.running = True def send_msg(self, msg): if self.running: self.client.send(msg) self.server.send_count += 1 def run(self): while self.running: data = self.client.recv(self.size) if data: print data self.server.send_to_children(data) else: self.running = False self.server.threads.remove(self) self.client.close() """ Run Server """ class DaemonServer(Daemon): def run(self): s = Server() s.run() if __name__ == "__main__": d = DaemonServer('/var/servers/fserver.pid') if len(sys.argv) == 2: if 'start' == sys.argv[1]: d.start() elif 'stop' == sys.argv[1]: d.stop() elif 'restart' == sys.argv[1]: d.restart() else: print "Unknown command" sys.exit(2) sys.exit(0) else: print "usage: %s start|stop|restart" % sys.argv[0] sys.exit(2)

  • Insert video clip in a lyx presentation and play it in GNU/Linux.

    - by Orjanp
    How can I insert a video clip into a presentation created in Lyx? Have seen http://www.latex-community.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=48. It works, but there the video starts in the background in an external player. I would prefer it to be played in the presentation itself. If an external player is used it it should at least start in the foreground. But the presentation takes the foreground. Using evince in GNU/linux as pdf viewer. Beamer is used as a presentation template. Is it possible to play a video file in an embedded player in the presentation itself? Created an example presentation. • How to poll a file in /sys

    - by Bjoern
    Hi, I am stuck reading a file in /sys/ which contains the light intensity in Lux of the ambient light sensor on my Nokia N900 phone. See thread on talk.maemo.org here I tried to use pyinotify to poll the file but this looks some kind of wrong to me since the file is alway "process_IN_OPEN", "process_IN_ACCESS" and "process_IN_CLOSE_NOWRITE" I basically want to get the changes ASAP and if something changed trigger an event, execute a class... Here's the code I tried, which works, but not as I expected (I was hoping for process_IN_MODIFY to be triggered): #!/usr/bin/env python # -*- coding: utf-8 -*- # import os, time, pyinotify import pyinotify ambient_sensor = '/sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-2/2-0029/lux' wm = pyinotify.WatchManager() # Watch Manager mask = pyinotify.ALL_EVENTS def action(self, the_event): value = open(the_event.pathname, 'r').read().strip() return value class EventHandler(pyinotify.ProcessEvent): def process_IN_ACCESS(self, event): print "ACCESS event:", action(self, event) def process_IN_ATTRIB(self, event): print "ATTRIB event:", action(self, event) def process_IN_CLOSE_NOWRITE(self, event): print "CLOSE_NOWRITE event:", action(self, event) def process_IN_CLOSE_WRITE(self, event): print "CLOSE_WRITE event:", action(self, event) def process_IN_CREATE(self, event): print "CREATE event:", action(self, event) def process_IN_DELETE(self, event): print "DELETE event:", action(self, event) def process_IN_MODIFY(self, event): print "MODIFY event:", action(self, event) def process_IN_OPEN(self, event): print "OPEN event:", action(self, event) #log.setLevel(10) notifier = pyinotify.ThreadedNotifier(wm, EventHandler()) notifier.start() wdd = wm.add_watch(ambient_sensor, mask) wdd time.sleep(5) notifier.stop() Thanks for any hints, suggestions and examples Kind regards Bjoern

  • Python - wxPython custom button -> unbound method __init__()? what?

    - by Wallter
    After looking at questions like this it doesn't make sense that my __init__(self, parrent, id) would be throwing a unbound error? help? main.py import wx from customButton import customButton from wxPython.wx import * class MyFrame(wx.Frame): def __init__(self, parent, ID, title): wxFrame.__init__(self, parent, ID, title, wxDefaultPosition, wxSize(400, 400)) # Non-important code here... # This is the first declaration of the Button1 # This is also where the ERROR is thrown. # Omitting this line causes the window to execute # flawlessly. self.Button1 = customButton.__init__(self, parent, -1) # ... finishes in a basic wx.program style... customButton.py # I've included all of the code in the file # because have no idea where the bug/error happens import wx from wxPython.wx import * class Custom_Button(wx.PyControl): # The BMP's Over_bmp = None #wxEmptyBitmap(1,1,1) # When the mouse is over Norm_bmp = None #wxEmptyBitmap(1,1,1) # The normal BMP Push_bmp = None #wxEmptyBitmap(1,1,1) # The down BMP def __init__(self, parent, id, **kwargs): wx.PyControl.__init__(self,parent, id, **kwargs) # Set the BMP's to the ones given in the constructor #self.Over_bmp = wx.Bitmap(wx.Image(MOUSE_OVER_BMP, wx.BITMAP_TYPE_ANY).ConvertToBitmap()) #self.Norm_bmp = wx.Bitmap(wx.Image(NORM_BMP, wx.BITMAP_TYPE_ANY).ConvertToBitmap()) #self.Push_bmp = wx.Bitmap(wx.Image(PUSH_BMP, wx.BITMAP_TYPE_ANY).ConvertToBitmap()) #self.Pos_bmp = self.pos self.Bind(wx.EVT_LEFT_DOWN, self._onMouseDown) self.Bind(wx.EVT_LEFT_UP, self._onMouseUp) self.Bind(wx.EVT_LEAVE_WINDOW, self._onMouseLeave) self.Bind(wx.EVT_ENTER_WINDOW, self._onMouseEnter) self.Bind(wx.EVT_ERASE_BACKGROUND,self._onEraseBackground) self.Bind(wx.EVT_PAINT,self._onPaint) self._mouseIn = self._mouseDown = False def _onMouseEnter(self, event): self._mouseIn = True def _onMouseLeave(self, event): self._mouseIn = False def _onMouseDown(self, event): self._mouseDown = True def _onMouseUp(self, event): self._mouseDown = False self.sendButtonEvent() def sendButtonEvent(self): event = wx.CommandEvent(wx.wxEVT_COMMAND_BUTTON_CLICKED, self.GetId()) event.SetInt(0) event.SetEventObject(self) self.GetEventHandler().ProcessEvent(event) def _onEraseBackground(self,event): # reduce flicker pass def _onPaint(self, event): dc = wx.BufferedPaintDC(self) dc.SetFont(self.GetFont()) dc.SetBackground(wx.Brush(self.GetBackgroundColour())) dc.Clear() dc.DrawBitmap(self.Norm_bmp) # draw whatever you want to draw # draw glossy bitmaps e.g. dc.DrawBitmap if self._mouseIn: # If the Mouse is over the button dc.DrawBitmap(self, self.Mouse_over_bmp, self.Pos_bmp, useMask=False) if self._mouseDown: # If the Mouse clicks the button dc.DrawBitmap(self, self.Push_bmp, self.Pos_bmp, useMask=False)

  • Remove padding in wxPython's wxWizard

    - by mridang
    Hi Guys, I'm using wxPython to create a wizard using the wxWizard control. I'm trying to a draw a colored rectangle but when I run the app, there seems to be a about a 10px padding on each side of the rectangle. This goes for all other controls too. I have to offset them a bit so that they appear exactly where I want them to. Is there any way I could remove this padding? Here's the source of my base Wizard page. class SimplePage(wx.wizard.PyWizardPage): """ Simple wizard page with unlimited rows of text. """ def __init__(self, parent, title): wx.wizard.PyWizardPage.__init__(self, parent) self.next = self.prev = None #self.sizer = wx.BoxSizer(wx.VERTICAL) title = wx.StaticText(self, -1, title) title.SetFont(wx.Font(18, wx.SWISS, wx.NORMAL, wx.BOLD)) #self.sizer.AddWindow(title, 0, wx.ALIGN_LEFT|wx.ALL, padding) #self.sizer.AddWindow(wx.StaticLine(self, -1), 0, wx.EXPAND|wx.ALL, padding) # self.SetSizer(self.sizer) self.Bind(wx.EVT_PAINT, self.OnPaint) def OnPaint(self, evt): """set up the device context (DC) for painting""" self.dc = wx.PaintDC(self) self.dc.BeginDrawing() self.dc.SetPen(wx.Pen("grey",style=wx.TRANSPARENT)) self.dc.SetBrush(wx.Brush("grey", wx.SOLID)) # set x, y, w, h for rectangle self.dc.DrawRectangle(0,0,500, 500) self.dc.EndDrawing() del self.dc def SetNext(self, next): self.next = next def SetPrev(self, prev): self.prev = prev def GetNext(self): return self.next def GetPrev(self): return self.prev def Activated(self, evt): """ Executed when page is being activated. """ return def Blocked(self, evt): """ Executed when page is about to be switched. Switching can be blocked by returning True. """ return False def Cancel(self, evt): """ Executed when wizard is about to be canceled. Canceling can be blocked by returning False. """ return True Thanks guys.

  • problems with retrieving data that was saved outside of a grails webflow

    - by callie16
    Hi, this is actually connected to an earlier question of mine here. Anyway, I have 3 domains that look like this: class A { ... static hasMany = [ b : B ] ... } class B { ... static belongsTo = [ a : A ] static hasMany = [ c : C ] ... } class C { ... static belongsTo = [ b : B ] ... } In my GSP page, I call an action in the Controller via a remote function in a javascript block (I'm using Dojo so I'm passing data to be saved this way... it's not a form per se so I use JSON for now to pass the data to the Controller). Let's say, I'm calling something like this: def someAction = { def jsonArr = [parse the JSON here] def tmpA = A.get(params.id) ... def tmpB = new B() b.someParam = jsonArr.someParam ... def tmpC = new C() tmpC.cParam = jsonArr.cParam tmpB.addToC(tmpC) tmpB.save(flush: true) //this may or may not be here but I'm adding it for the sake of completeness tmpA.addToB(tmpB) tmpA.save(flush: true) // NOTE: If I check here via println or whatnot, tmpA has a tmpB which has a tmpC... in other words, the data got saved. It's also in the DB. redirect(action: 'order' ...) } Then comes the fun part. Here's the webflow sample: def orderFlow = { ... someStateIShouldEndUpIn { on("next") { // or on previous... doesn't matter def anId = params.id def currA = A.get(anId) // this does NOT return a null value def testB = currA.b // this DOES return a null value }.to("somePage") ... } ... } Any ideas on why this happens? Moreover, when I dump the data of currA, b=null... instead of b=[] or b=[contents of tmpB]. Any help would be seriously appreciated... been at this for a couple of days now... Thanks!
