    One of the problems that existed in the CTP3 edition of StreamInsight was an error that occurred if you tried to access the grouping key from within your projection expression. That was a real issue as you always need access to the key. It's a bit like using a GROUP BY in TSQL and then not including the columns you're grouping by in the SELECT clause.     Hello all, When i got home from work yesterday i couldn't logg in on my account on my desktop pc (Acer Aspire M5620). The reason for this was that when i was typing, more diggets would appear than i pressed. After logging on an account that required no password (my Dad's) i found out that some of my key bindings were messed up. For instance when typing: W --- qwe would appear q --- qw + right mouse e --- we a --- as s --- asd d --- sd z --- zx x --- zxc c --- xc Moreover pressing: 1 --- 12 2 --- 123 3 --- 23 I am typing this from my Dad's laptop (which is working like a charm). I was wondering if anyone has seen this problem before and thus knows a way to fix it. I'm not the brainy type when it comes to computers.   • Disable creation of appointment when typing into Outlook calendar

    Outlook (both 2010 and 2007) has a "feature" that creates an appointment if I type some text while the calendar window has focus. This keeps biting me every now and then when I erroneously have focus on the calendar window and start typing. To me, this feature is twice as annoying: There is no easy way to escape out of it - I end up using mouse to select the newly created bogus event and then to delete it. Sometimes, if the focus is on an already existing event, such spurious typing changes the text without an easy way to undo. Question: is there a way to make Outlook stop creating/modifying events upon typing, forcing me instead to double click an event or Ctrl-N in order to process my input?

    I have very little experience working with classes and object. I work in a loosely typed language, PHP. I was working with a SimpleXML object and ran into a problem where I was trying to do math with an element of that object like $results->ProductDetail->{'Net'.$i}; If I echoed that value, I'd get 0.53 but when I tried to do math with it, it was converted to 0 Is there a reason that a loosely typed language would not recognize that as a float and handle it as such? Why would "echo" handle it as a string but the math fail to convert it?     I have a different problem.When first time I used ubuntu old to new in every version I can easily type password in terminal after sudo command.But now a day I can't because In terminal after sudo command in password i can't able to type any thing like char or number ,but just in password other part in terminal I can type. Now,probelm is there that it don't show password means not that in terminal password is in hide mode.Every time I type in after that it show me" sorry,try again" error message after three time wrong password means empty password it's again come into first position. For solve this problem I used old to new version of ubuntu also format it many time but same problem occured. Please help me because without terminal password I can't install anything.

  • Can't connect to wireless without typing sudo modprobe b43 in terminal

    I just upgraded to 12.04 on an old ACER Travelmate 5320 using Broadcom 4311. I wasn't able to connect to the internet through the wireless for a few days. It didn't even display wireless networks. I was finally able to make it work by following the instructions found here: http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43#supported However, each time I log on to the computer I have to go to the terminal and type sudo modprobe b43 to make the wireless work. Is there somehow I can avoid this? I have used Ubuntu for many years but always relied on other people to help me with the technical stuff. The terminal is alien to me so I literally follow online forum instructions without knowing what I'm doing. Also, I tried many many things before I managed to make it work. So I'm worried I may have installed something that now conflicts with whatever the sudo modprobe b43 does. Thank you

  • Erratic typing in Ubuntu 13.04

    I recently upgraded to 13.04 and have noticed that my keyboard randomly drops keystrokes. Furthermore, it will occasionally cause the last pressed key to "stick", leaving me with "typng that looks lik thisssssssssssssssssssssss". I do not believe that this is a hardware problem, as the keyboard worked just fine under 12.10 a few days ago. In addition, there are no Universal Settings turned on that would be causing this problem. I came across this unanswered Ask Ubuntu post that seems to identify part of my problem: Missing keystrokes in ubuntu 13.04 I was able to work around the repeated keystrokes problem by turning off the "key presses repeat when key is held down" option under the keyboard settings, but this is not an acceptable solution in the long term. Any thoughts?

So I don't screw it up, I'd like to pre-record typing the more complicated bits of the source code and play it back. Most programs I've found that do similar things (like AutoHotKey) dump the text instantaneously as a giant block. Is there any program that will do this and allow me to adjust the play-back speed?

  • QuickTime Player sounds much better than iTunes

    I am playing a 320 kpbs encoded music MP3 in iTunes and the sound is substantially worse than the exact same file played back in QuickTime Player (Max OS X 10.8.5). I have maxed out system volume and iTunes playback volume. I have disabled all the audio processing features in iTunes (equalization, sound enhancer, etc.) The audio coming from iTunes still sounds resampled and/or processed, whereas QuickTime Player appears to be playing it "as is". Even when I Get Info on the MP3 file in Finder and play it back directly from the Get Info window it sounds good. It's just iTunes that seems to be mangling the song. I can notice a difference on virtually all my music, so it's not just one particular MP3. I suspect the issue is that iTunes is doing some kind of audio processing but I can't find a way to turn it off. This is the newest iTunes (11.1), but the problem has probably been going on for a while... I just switched to decent earbuds and started noticing the difference. What's the best way to force iTunes to play back the file as-is, or as close as possible to how QuickTime Player/Finder would play it?

  • Soundtest works, but no other sounds and windows starts very slowly

    So suddenly all sounds on my computer stopped working expect the sound test works, but when I go to control panel and audio it says there's no audio device. And audio players and audio on website doesn't work either. and Also windows starts very slowly. I'm not sure if this helps but I'll tell what happened before this. I downloaded this program from a little shady website, I hesitated and for a good reason I guess cos the moment I finished downloading it, my antivir detected it as unwanted program and put it on quarantine. I thought everything was fine, but had some problems with program (won't go to details about it cos it's not really related to audio) so rebooted the computer and I was suprised that windows started really really slowly. It took like 5 mins to load the desktop such. After that I noticed the sounds were missing, I immediately deleted the program since I thought it was causing the problem. But it didn't change much. I tried to find the solution with no success and now I'm just scanning again my computer. I'd be thankful if anyone would be able to help me. I might have left a thing or ten things out, so feel free to ask. oh and I'm using windows xp

    I recently got a brand new computer. Everything was fine until I plugged my electric guitar into my amp. When I switch on my guitar amp (guitar speaker) I can hear a weird noise. It sounds like the noise that that goes through your speakers when you put your mobile phone next to it. There is nothing wrong with my guitar or guitar amp and I didn't have any similar problems with my old computer. Can anyone help me?

This probably grew from learning to type at an early age, before home-row was presented to me. Is this acceptable? Do people religiously endorse home-row even with low-mistake poking without looking at the keyboard?

    Hi, I have a main swf which has sound on/off buttons. It has many SWF's which are loaded into different placeholders at different time. All of them have different sounds in them. In addition to that there is a music loop going on in the background. Now, this perticular swf lets call it Father will be placed in some swf later on. What I'm trying to do right now is when the sound off button is pressed turn off all the sounds permanently so the child swf's and their sounds stop too. I have found a way in AS2 : global = new Sound( ) //no movie clip target path. and add the following code to your off button. on(release){ global.setVolume(0); //mutes all sound } and for on button on(release){ global.setVolume(100); //un mutes all sound } which ofcourse does not work for AS3. So how can I stop all sounds permanently in AS3? Secondly what if I have one sound (my background loop) which I want to keep going on. Would be a lot of help, been searching for a while now without a appropriate answer.

  • Playing a sequence of sounds without gaps (iPhone)

    I thought maybe the fastest way was to go with Sound Services. It is quite efficient, but I need to play sounds in a sequence, not overlapped. Therefore I used a callback method to check when the sound has finished. This cycle produces around 0.3 seconds in lag. I know this sounds very strict, but it is basically the main axis of the program. EDIT: I now tried using AVAudioPlayer, but I can't play sounds in a sequence without using audioPlayerDidFinishPlaying since that would put me in the same situation as with the callback method of SoundServices. EDIT2: I think that if I could somehow get to join the parts of the sounds I want to play into a large file, I could get the whole audio file to sound continuously. EDIT3: I thought this would work, but the audio overlaps: waitTime = player.deviceCurrentTime; for (int k = 0; k < [colores count]; k++) { player.currentTime = 0; [player playAtTime:waitTime]; waitTime += player.duration; } Thanks

  • [Windows Live Messenger] Beta sounds

    Hello, in a beta version of the Windows Live Messenger they had different sounds once. They weren't like the current ones, they sounded brighter. The normal "dling" when logging in was replaced by a more direct "DIING!". It was only like that in one beta version thought. I was already searching for it when it was replaced back again, but I lost the exe file back then. Anyone know of this? Anyone else? Please!
