hibernate pagination mechanism

I am trying to use Hibernate pagination for my query (PostgreSQL ) i set setFirstResult(0), setMaxResults(20) for my sql query. My code like below: Session session = getSessionFactory().getCurrentSession(); session.beginTransaction(); Query query = session.createQuery("select id , customer_name , address from tbl_customers "); query.setFirstResult(0); query.setMaxResults(20); List<T> entities = query.list(); session.getTransaction().commit(); but when viewing SQL hibernate log, i still see full sql query: Hibernate: select customer0_.id as id9_, customer0_.customer_name as dst2_9_, customer0_.addres as dst3_9_ from tbl_customers customer0_ Why there is no LIMIT OFFSET in query of Hibernate pagination SQL log? Does anyone know about Hibernate pagination mechanism? I guess that Hibernate will select all data, put data into Resultset, and then paging in Resultset, right?

Can rel="next" and rel="prev" can be ignored in blog listings

We have a blog - which is current spread to 9 pages, every page has a unique title - page 1, page 2, page 3 and so on. Also, as it's a blog, every page has unique 10 listing entry on one page. Is rel="prev" and rel="next" can be safely ignored as all these are listing and not content pages of article. What I read in all through Google Search is that rel="next" and rel="prev" should be applicable on where the content is spread across multiple pages. But - as it's a blog, it has blog listings and every listing has unique content This is the blog: http://www.mycarhelpline.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&view=latest&Itemid=91. May recommend, if by ignoring rel="next" and rel="prev" - are we inviting Google to treat the blog listing pages as duplicate.

What is the best way to implement paginated text editing in Python?

I'm trying to build a formatted text editor in python. I need the editor to be paginated on edit mode. Same as in all popular word processors - when the user is editing the document what he/she sees is a representation of the actual, physical, page. I've tried looking into PySide but I can't find any ready solution to this, nor I can work out a way to do it myself. I am totally open to new technologies, so if you think Python is not the right choice here I would love to hear about new stuff (especially when I'm this new to UI coding). It only needs to be cross-platform and let me do rapid development (hence me looking for an out-of-the-box solution to this). Please suggest the best way to implement this. Please also note that I am looking for either a ready solution or an advice on how to tackle this. Thank you very much !

Showing pagination with only single page using will_paginate

I'm using will_paginate as standard, but it only shows the pagination controls (< 1 2 etc) when there's more than one page to display. Normally, this would be what is wanted, but I want to see the pagination controls (for UI consistency and to get round an annoying CSS quirk in the system I'm working on) even when there's only 1 page to display (showing < 1 ). Is this possible?

wayfinder, paginator, or breadcrumb?

My question is fairly simple. I've heard one or two people call it a "wayfinder" and I personally call it "breadcrumb", then again "paginator" can also fit the bill. Bottom line is I can't seem to find what I need because I am not coming up with the right term. What I want is the following: I have a site with a multiple-pages form. I want my users to see the steps through the form. I searched for all three terms and nothing I can use has shown. I could build one from scratch but I am interested in what is out there. Someone may have done a better job than I will be doing. Any idea on what to call this and if you have a link I can check out, that will be bonus Thanks

jQgrid Pagination with query string

Hello, I recently started experimenting with jQgrid, and much appreciate for any guidance on the below use case. I need to implement a (advanced)search functionality, and the results are loaded in the jQgrid. When use pagination, how to specify a complex query in the post data? In the serverside (grails) it it represented as an object, which is mocked below class searchCommand { String val1 List<long> ids //from the multiple selection } the above members can be null, if the user doesn't select any. Without saving the state at the server, I guess the only way to make the pagination work is to pass the query object back and forth with the correct offset, index etc. if that is the case, how best to represent it in jQgrid side. I saw a parameter postData to set additional values, but not sure how to represnt the data (JSON??). Any code snippet on (retaining) converting it from the last result to postData would be helpful. thanks in advance.

mysql - select pagination chunk that includes a given id

...before the pagination chunks have been determined. I know you can do this in multiple statements, but there must be a better way. my results are returned ordered by date and I want to return the pagination chunk that contains a given id. So I could, for example, select the date of the given id and then select a chunk of results where date is less than or greater than the date. That would work. But is there some native mysql method of doing this sort of thing in one statement? It just seems reasonable to expect that we could ask for X results in which a given id exists if results are ordered by date.

Hi, I want to implement pagination using JDBC. The actual thing I want to know is "How can i get first 50 and then next 50 records from database for page 1 and 2 respectively" My Query is Select * from data [data table contains 20,000 rows] For page #1 I get 50 records and for page #2 I want to get next 50 records. How can I implement it efficiently in JDBC? I have searched and found that rs.absolute(row) is the way to skip first page records but it takes some amount of time on large result sets and I don't want to bear this amount of time. Also, I don't want to use rownum and limit + offset in query because these are not good to use in query, I dont know why, still I don't want to use it in query. Can anyone help me how to get limited ResultSet for pagination or is there any way JDBC is giving us?

Best way to integrate searching with pagination

I have a web application build on cakephp 2.x. I have integrated pagination on my data. Now i want to implement searching on that data also, and pagination should work according to search result. Now my question is: Should i use a form to post my search string. If so, then which method should i use, GET or POST. OR, should i use javascript window.location method, and append the search string to it. If we use this method then search string can append more than once to url. Or any other best way to implement this. Can anybody give the best solution for this as it is a common task for each application to have.

Converting PHP pagination to jQuery?

Hey, I have been trying to get this pagination class that I am using to be more ajaxy - meaning when I click on the page number like page [2] the data loads, but I want to load in the data without going to a different page (HTTP request in the background, with no page reloads). Being new to both php and jquery, I am a little unsure on how to achieve this result, especially while using a php class. How can I add GET variables to the end of the current page url using a form with php?

I have some database information that is being shown on a page. I am using a pagination class that uses the $_GET['page'] variable in the url. When you click on a different pagination anchor tag, it changes $_GET['page'] to a new number in the url and shows the corresponding results. I have sort and search features which uses the $_GET['searchby'] and $_GET['search_input'] variables. The user enters their search or sort criteria on a form that is using GET. The variables are then put into the url allowing for the correct results to be shown. The problem I am having is that whenever I click on a pagination link, it adds that to end of the url and erases the search or sort GET variables. The same thing happens when I submit the search/sort form. How can I add GET variables to the end of the current page url using the anchor tag and search/sort form?

How to retrieve column total when rows are paginated?

Hey guys I have a column "price" in a table and I used a pagination script to generate the data displayed. Now the pagination is working perfectly however I am trying to have a final row in my HTML table to show the total of all the price. So I wrote a script to do just that with a foreach loop and it sort of works where it does give me the total of all the price summed up together however it is the sum of all the rows, even the ones that are on following pages. How can I retrieve just the sum of the rows displayed within the pagination? Thank you! Here is the query.. Add Page Parameter in Zend Framework Doesn't Work

Hello guys, I've been trying to figure this out these days. I got a problem when I want to add 'page' parameter in my URL for my pagination. This is my router -addRoute('budi',new Zend_Controller_Router_Route(':lang/budi',array('controller' = 'budi', 'action' = 'index', 'page' = 1), array('lang'=$s, 'page' = '\d+'))) -addRoute('budi1',new Zend_Controller_Router_Route(':lang/budi/page/:page',array('controller' = 'budi', 'action' = 'index', 'page' = 1), array('lang'=$s, 'page' = '\d+'))) Then I access my URL http://localhost/learningsystem/en/budi but when I hover on my pagination links, the page parameter doesn't appear. The URL is still http://localhost/learningsystem/en/budi but if I enter same URL with index in the end like this one http://localhost/learningsystem/en/budi/index or like this one http://localhost/learningsystem/en/budi/page/1 the page parameter appears perfectly when I click the page 2 link http://localhost/learningsystem/en/budi/index/page/2 Actually, I don't want include 'index' or 'page' at first in my URL. Anyway, I use default pagination.phtml template from Zend. Anyone please help me to solve this problem? Thank you very much

Youtube API - How to limit results for pagination?

I want to grab a user's uploads (ie: BBC) and limit the output to 10 per page. Whilst I can use the following URL: http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/bbc/uploads/?start-index=1&max-results=10 The above works okay. I want to use the query method instead: The Zend Framework docs: http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/zend.gdata.youtube.html State that I can retrieve videos uploaded by a user, but ideally I want to use the query method to limit the results for a pagination. The query method is on the Zend framework docs (same page as before under the title 'Searching for videos by metadata') and is similar to this: [code] $yt = new Zend_Gdata_YouTube(); $query = $yt-newVideoQuery(); $query-setTime('today'); $query-setMaxResults(10); $videoFeed = $yt-getUserUploads( NULL, $query ); // Output print ''; foreach($videoFeed as $video): print '' . $video-title . Remove a tag type from the view (involves alphabetical pagination)

I have an index view that lists all of the tags for my Entry and Message models. I would like to only show the tags for Entries in this view. I'm using acts-as-taggable-on. The error I'm getting [after I clicked on the G link of the alphabetical pagination] reads: Couldn't find all Tags with IDs (77,130,115,...) AND (name LIKE 'G%') (found 9 results, but was looking for 129) Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hey, I stumbled upon a problem of how to mix both acts_as_taggable (on steroids) and will_paginate gems. What I found on this problem is this: http://www.mckinneystation.com/2007/08/20/pagination-with-acts_as_taggable_on_steroids-acts_as_ferret-and-will_paginate/ But it's dated of 2007, may be there's something more recent? And also could you explain in details what should I do to make that fix work?

i ve used pagination. what the problem is for example: i ve 3 pages 1) in the first i'm clicking some checkboxes and 2) i move on to the second and 3) return back to the 1st page the checkbox that i already checked is unchecked. for form submission i need the checkbox status that i ve checked on all pages should be submit. i need a detail description and clear answer for my question. Is anybody there to help me pls.....
