  • Big problem: Complete computer crash (no response when booted)

    I need your help: I installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my computer (I removed the complete system and installed Ubuntu instead) It said that the bootloader installation failed. So I chose the only partition that existed again. Installation succesful. Restart your computer. I did this. Then it went black when it rebooted (only a flickering stroke appears). No ISOs are executable. BIOS Boot Device Priority says: 1st Boot Device [SATA:PM-SAMSUNG HM] That was all I can say, please help me!

  • Boots to a totally blank screen after I installed some ATI Radeon card updates

    I am using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, dual boot with win7 on ThinkPad T400, I followed Ubuntu update hints and installed some update for my ATI Radeon graphic card, but when I boot to Ubuntu(means I can still load GRUB), the tragedy happened, the screen goes to blank and no matter what key stroke, I can not get any responds, I try to go to text terminal, but impossible! However when I hit the power button, the computer would pop out the Ubuntu shutdown screen briefly and shut down. I figure out I should delete the updates package of my graphic card, but I don't even get a chance to go to text terminal, please help me!

So new one today, 'Laptop Regret' You pull out your laptop and power it up connected to (boss in room) projector demo to reveal your previous nights Spotify dance music party mix / stroke / eclectic mix of website surfing (make what you will) collection. Its a social phenomena, it happens (not to me obviously), but I'd just like to benchmark my findings. (OK, it did happen to me)

    I have a general question about creating a drawing application, the language could be C++ or ObjectiveC with OpenGL. I would like to hear what are the best methods and practices for storing strokes data. Think of the many iPad apps that allow you to draw with your finger (or a stylus) or any other similar function on a desktop app. To summarize, the data structure must: be highly responsive to the movement store precise values (close in space / time) usable for rendering the strokes with complex textures (textures based on the dynamic of the stroke etc) exportable to a text file for saving/loading

With a population of only 1.34M (wouldn't it have been ironic if their population was 1.11M?), Estonia is one of the least-populated countries in Europe to join the European Union. Its currency, the Estonian Kroon was converted at its fixed rate of 15.6466 Kroons to the Euro. Some of its neighbors, such as Lithuania and Latvia, also hope to join the Euro zone soon, but who knows now that there is so much turmoil.

    Hi, I have an NSView in which the user can draw circles. These circles are stored as an array of NSBezierPaths, and in drawRect:, I loop through the array and call -stroke on each of the paths. How do I add a button to zoom in and out the NSView? Just change the bounds of the view? Thanks.

  • Can't interact with children of an itemRenderer in Flex 4 Gumbo

    I thought this would be pretty easy but I'm running into all sorts of problems with this. I have an ItemRenderer with a an image and two labels. I want to assign separate mouse events to the image and two labels. It seems like the item renderer is treated like a single interactive piece and I haven't found a way to override that. I couldn't even disable the default rollover effect so I had to style the rollOverColor to match my background.   • Making a Grid in an NSView

    I currently have an NSView that draws a grid pattern (essentially a guide of horizontal and vertical lines) with the idea being that a user can change the spacing of the grid and the color of the grid. The purpose of the grid is to act as a guideline for the user when lining up objects. Everything works just fine with one exception. When I resize the NSWindow by dragging the resize handle, if my grid spacing is particularly small (say 10 pixels). the drag resize becomes lethargic in nature. I can see where the inefficiency is coming in, drag-resizing the NSWindow is constantly calling the drawRect in this view as it resizes, and the closer the grid, the more calculations per pixel drag of the parent window. I was thinking of hiding the view on the resize of the window, but it doesn't feel as dynamic. I want the user experience to be very smooth without any perceived delay or flickering. Does anyone have any ideas on a better or more efficient method to drawing the grid? All help, as always, very much appreciated.

  • WPF, how can I optimize lines and circles drawing ?

    Hello ! I am developping an application where I need to draw a graph on the screen. For this purpose, I use a Canvas and I put Controls on it. And when I try to draw a very large graph, it takes a LOT of time to render. My problem is that the code is not optimized at all, I just wanted it to work.   • In pure XAML, is it possible to get a Line to align to part of a Grid?

    Is it possible to create a Line in XAML (without any C# code behind) to align a line inside of a layout container such as a Grid? I'd like to effectively have: <Grid> <Line StrokeThickness="1" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Stroke="Red"/> </Grid> I need to use StrokeDashArray and StrokeDashOffset, otherwise I would just use a Border control with the BorderThickness set to "0,0,0,1"... First, and looking at Photoshop's one, i thought of the RGB palette as a three-dimensional matrix.   • WPF PathGeometry/RotateTransform optimization

    I am having performance issues when rendering/rotating WPF triangles If I had a WPF triangle being displayed and it will be rotated to some degree around a centrepoint, I can do it one of two ways: Programatically determine the points and their offset in the backend, use XAML to simply place them on the canvas where they belong, it would look like this: <Path Stroke="Black"> <Path.Data> <PathGeometry> <PathFigure StartPoint ="{Binding CalculatedPointA, Mode=OneWay}"> <LineSegment Point="{Binding CalculatedPointB, Mode=OneWay}" /> <LineSegment Point="{Binding CalculatedPointC, Mode=OneWay}" /> <LineSegment Point="{Binding CalculatedPointA, Mode=OneWay}" /> </PathFigure> </PathGeometry> </Path.Data> </Path> Generate the 'same' triangle every time, and then use a RenderTransform (Rotate) to put it where it belongs. I know I should test it myself but how do I measure the render time of objects with such granularity. I would need to be able to time how long the actual rendering time is for the form, but since I'm not the one that's kicking off the redraw, I don't know how to capture the start time.
