• Eclipse progress view stop button listener

  Hi! I develop an eclipse plugin, and I created an progress view which indicates where the work runs. Everything works correctly, but I have a question. When I made this view an stop button appeared on it. But I haven't found any listener to control this. But the best should be that if there is an pause button within the view insted of the stop button. Please give me some idea! Thanks!

• SVN Export in Eclipse removes labels on tabs

  I have a very strange effect when using subclipse with eclipse. Whenever I use Team-Export to export a file from the editor the export works fine, but the label of the tab of the file is removed. Effect can be seen here: http://www.daspferd.de/img/tabs.png Strangely enough it happens with php-files, css-files, html-files but NOT with javascript-files. So I'm assuming it's some kind of setting that I haven't found yet and not a bug in subclipse. Anyone know where I can shut down this behaviour?

  I am about to import my project into svn but don't want to stuff it up. My structure is like this: Repositories: /var/svn/client_name1/ /var/svn/client_name2/ Project directories under /var/svn/client_name1/ project1/ trunk/ branches/ tags/ project2/ trunk/ branches/ tags/ My Apache config looks like this: <Location /svn> DAV svn SVNParentPath /var/svn SVNListParentPath on AuthType Basic AuthName "My Repository" AuthUserFile /etc/svnpass Require valid-user AuthzSVNAccessFile /etc/svnauth </Location> Now I can access my svn repository http://mysite.com/svn/client_name1/ however, there are no projects displayed here, just a Revision 0 message (is that correct)? I can connect to the repository in eclipse using the same url.   Hi In eclipse when we open:- **File-Import-General-Existing Project into workspace then it prompt a import window. Where We have to select a Root project Directory(Browse)..so in this i want to hardcode the Browse path. By default it goes to workspace directory..but i want a fix path like.. I am using a third party library for the charts, the database and data extraction layer have already been coded. Can you advise on a good desktop Framework to use within Eclipse to provide a 'professional' looking GUI with minimum coding required (This is just a prototype). Further can anyone advise an effective method to port this application to a web server so users could access remotely? I have limited experience with GWT, are their more suitable alternatives? • Autocomplete for generic types in Eclipse

  "Refer to objects by their interfaces" is a good practise, as mentioned in Effective Java. So for example i prefer List<String> al = new ArrayList<String>(); over ArrayList<String> al = new ArrayList<String>(); in my code. One annoying thing is that if i type ArrayList<String> al = new and then hit Ctrl+Space in Eclipse i get ArrayList<String>() as propostal. But if i type List al = new and then hit Ctrl+Space i will get only propostal to define anonymous inner class, but not propostals such as new ArrayList<String>(), what is 99% the case, or for example new Vector<String>(). Is there any way to get the subclasses as propostals for generic types?

  I'm currently working on a pet project and need to do C++ development on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Solaris, and I've narrowed it down to Netbeans and Eclipse, so I was wonderig which is more solid as a C++ editor. I just need solid editing, good autocompletion for templated code ad external libraries, and project file management, the build tools are external, so thats irrelevant here, for my comparison. Thus which is a better choice? Note: I know I should be using emacs or vim, but the issue is, my theory at least, that I'm left handed, so I use my right side (design,creativity) of the brain more than the left side (logic, memory), so I just simply cannot use emacs or vim, my brain simply isn't compatible, I tried them many times too, even used emacs for a few months but it drove me crazy... My problem at the very first time my action is being invoked. The selectionChanged method is called only after the menu item has been displayed (and not when the user has made the selection) which means that the call to a.setEnabled() will have no affect. Any ideas on how to make my action receive selectionChanged() notifications even before the fist time it is being invoked?

• Eclipse content assist with maven project not picking up all classes

  I'm using Eclipse 3.5.0, and have imported a maven project using the import maven project from SCM wizard (M2 plugin). I have a jar file as a dependency in my pom. and inside the jar is a complicated schema - with quite a number of XSD's. But the content assist doesn't seem to pick up the schema at all, nor a number of other classes in the dependency list. yet for another module in the same project it seems to work ok. Does anyone know why this is? it's driving me mad!

• Combining packages from different projects into a single project in eclipse

  Hi, As part of the Android application I am developing in eclipse, I need to combine two packages from different projects into a single project. I tried copying the files in the package of the second project under the src folder of the first folder and copied other files required for second package into the res folder of the first project. But the auto-generated Java files i.e R.java doesn't get updated on copying. I tried right clicking on the project and clicking on Android Tools - Fix Project Properties. But nothing changed. Any pointers on what I am doing wrong much be appreciated.

  Hi (I am using Galileo), I am trying to import some existing projects into Eclipse. The structures for their packages is: Project/ /src /java /a /b /c Once imported in the package explorer I see: Project src/java --a --b --c - AClass.java This is ok, since the classes e.g. AClass.java are defined in package: a.b.c But in one project the structure (once imported) becomes: Project src --java --a --b --c - AClass.java And that causes the error that AClass.java is defined to be in package a.b.c but it is actually under java.a.b.c Why is this happening? Why in this specific project java is not ignored as part of package? Thanks

• [Java6] Same source code, Eclipse build success but Maven (javac) fails

  Keep getting this error when compiling using Maven: type parameters of <X>X cannot be determined; no unique maximal instance exists for type variable X with upper bounds int,java.lang.Object Generics type interference cannot be applied to primitive types. But I thought since Java5, boxing/unboxing mechanism works seamlessly between primitive types and wrapper classes. In any case, the strange thing is Eclipse doesn't report any errors and happily compiles. I'm using JDK1.6.0_12. What could possibly be the problem here?

  How do I configure my project buildpath to have a set of .jar files located in the same directory automatically included in the buildpath ? Meaning that adding a new .jar file to this directory (and refreshing the project) updates the buildpath ? Rem : I am not working in a Webapp but in a standalone Java app. I know that it is possible in a Dynamic Web Project to have all the .jars located in WEB-INF/lib to be included in the build path. Is it possible to do kind of the same include but in standalone app ? I am using Eclipse 3.4

• JUnit unable to find tests in Eclipse

  I have a strange issue with JUnit 4 tests in Eclipse 3.5 that I couldn't solve - any hints gratefully received! Initially: I had a test suite working properly, with 100+ tests all configured with JUnit 4 annotations. I'd run these typically by right clicking on my source folder and selecting "Run as JUnit test". All worked perfectly. Now: When I try to run the test messages all I get is an error "No tests found with test runner 'JUnit 4'". Any idea what is happening? I simply can't work out what could have changed to make this fail. My guess is that it is some configuration issue based on the build path or class path?

• Why maven is not working in eclipse indigo?

  I'm trying to make a simple log in/ log out web application with maven and I'm creating the project with the command: " mvn archetype:generate " and choose 341 and it'll be created with the structure below: webapp -----src/main/java -----Referenced Libraries -----Maven Dependencies -----src -----target pom.xml But when I add some dependencies and update the project something weird happening with the structure of the project according to the picture below: webapp -----src/main/java -----Referenced Libraries -----JRE System Library -----src -----target pom.xml and it's not working any more. As you can see the the first one has a Maven dependencies Library but the second one has been changed to JRE System Library. I use mac os lion and eclipse indigo. Anyone how knows why is like that?   I'm trying to get the Hackbook for Android project to work in Eclipse. One of the things I need to do is remove that invalid reference and include that project I made. I did this before, but then I started over and now it doesn't work. Here is where I add the project. If I click "Apply" and then "OK" everything seems to be fine, but it isn't, because when I go back to this screen, none of the changes I made are there. Why isn't it saving my changes? • JAR file folder for eclipse projects

  I'm trying to create a centralized folder (in some kind of a "meta project" in my eclipse workspace) for commonly used JAR files for referenced projects in this workspace. It should work similar to the WEB-INF/lib folder for web projects but also apply to non web projects, and automatically scan and add all jar files in this folder. I tried to create a user library with these jar files and reference them in the project but I still have to add every new jar manually to the user library (and don't know if it is referenced relative of absoulute) and Tomcat (WTP) doesn't seem to take these files (Run As - Run on Server) into its classpath (and I don't want to duplicate the jars and put them into WEB-INF/lib). Any ideas?

• Adding a Jar to ext and using it in Eclipse

  I am providing a client with a lab station image for a school program. There is a library that I'd like to directly add to the JRE so that students can use the library without needing to fiddle with adding the classpath. As this is a basic after school program, the goal is to just get students into programming with as little overhead additions as possible. At this point, I have the lib put into the jre/lib/ext and Eclipse is able to find it, however it will not allow access to any of the classes. I see it in the JRE System Library and the classes and packages are showing up there but when I go to use it, I am getting an "Access restriction" error. When I remove the JRE System Library then add it back in, everything works swimmingly. The library is accessible exactly as intended. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

• Project works in eclipse but not when exported

  I wrote an application that uses GraphViz to generate some graphs as .gif's according to the DOT syntax. When I run from Eclipse the images are generated fine but when I export it as a jar the images are created but there is no data in them. When I view them in Microsoft Picture Viewer its just the red X. It was working as an exported jar until I put the picture generation in its own thread. I can't seem to figure out whats going on here. Are there any problems exporting multi-threaded projects? Any one have any ideas? Thanks

• Cannot "Install New Software" in Eclipse 3.5

  I have just installed Eclipse 3.5 for Java EE developers ("Galileo"). I need to add an extra plugin, but when I select the "Install New Software ..." menu item, nothing happens. Literally nothing - no dialog opens, no error message is displayed. If I have the Debug window open, no message are displayed. If I go to Preferences - Install/Update - Available Software Sites, that dialog opens OK, I can manage the list of update sites, and test the connections, and they all appear OK. But I cannot get to use them to actually install anything. Is it just broken, or could there be something more subtle wrong? Thanks.

• Using CMake with Eclipse CDT, quickly switch targets?

  I'm using the CDT4 - MinGW Makefiles generator. Project-Build All successfully builds the target (a shared library) but it seems I would have to (A) open a project settings page and type in the target, hoping it's spelled right*, or (B) run make from a terminal to "build" the install and package targets. I noticed a promising Project-Make Target entry, but the Create... and Build... sub-entries are greyed-out.
