  • SQL 2008 SP1 crashing almost daily

    Hey, almost every day our new DB crashes. It is virtual server residing on same hardware as 5 other servers, two of them beeing identical MS SQL2008sp1 and two Oracle 11g's so I can pretty much rule out hardware issues. Server has dedicated local LUN, 4vCPU and 8GB memory with 2GB windows swap file. It runs 4 instances. Primary instance is limited to 5GB memory and paralelism set to 4 running on MS SQL 2008 SP1 @ Windows Server 2008 Enterprise R2 x64. Only that primary instance is crashing. After it crashes nothing can connect to it, it's even impossible to shut it down through service manager. What I found in logs is: ***Stack Dump being sent to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\LOG\SQLDump0081.txt SqlDumpExceptionHandler: Process 4788 generated fatal exception c0000005 EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION.     I've been trying to login in the pyload through the web api, but wget is not saving the cookies and I don't understand why.   • Can't open cocoa emacs from terminal using open -a

    I installed emacs on my MacBook Air running Mac OS X 10.6.5 from this site http://emacsformacosx.com/. I believe this is what used to be called cocoa emacs. I dragged it into my Application folder and it works fine when I run it from there. I want to be able to run it from the Terminal. After some googling, I tried open -a /Application/Emacs.app foo.txt (foo.txt was and existing file). I got two emacs windows - one with welcome screen and one with foo.txt loaded. I tried a few applications in the /Applications directory and they did not seem to behave like this. I had installed it using my own account (an admin account) so after doing ls -l on /Application I noticed that the owner and group were different from the other entries in this folder. I recursively changed the owner and group to root and wheel, like the others, but this did not help. The only thing that looks funny now is that there that ls -l show a @ character which has something to do with extended attributes but I don't know how to check these. Any suggestions on what to check next? Is using the open command the only to run the program? Can I simulate what it does using a shell script?

  • Postfix "mail-to-script" pipe only delivers empty messages

    i have a problem here. I want that a incoming email is piped to a php script in the system through postfix. My System is running with ispconfig 3, postfix and dovecot (< virtual mailbox users are saved in mysql). I looked already into this one: How to configure postfix to pipe all incoming email to a script? ... the script is executed, but no "message" is delivered to the script. My setup so far: In ISPConfig 3 i have set up the following email route: Active Server Domain Transport Sort by Yes example.com pipe.example.com piper: 5 excerpt from my postfix master.cf: piper unix - n n - - pipe user=piper:piper directory=/home/piper argv=php -q /home/piper/mail.php so far it is working great (mail sent to [email protected]) (mail.log): Jun 21 16:07:11 example postfix/pipe[10948]: 235CF7613E2: to=<[email protected]>, relay=piper, delay=0.04, delays=0.01/0.01/0/0.02, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered via piper service) ... and no errors in mail.err the mail.php is sucessfully executed (its chmod 777 and chown'ed to piper), but creates a empty .txt file (normally it should contain the email message): -rw------- 1 piper piper 0 Jun 21 16:07 mailtext_1340287631.txt the mail.php script ive used, is the one from http://www.email2php.com/HowItWorks if i use their (commercial) service to pipe an email to the mail.php (in a apache2 environment) through a provided "pipe-email", the message is saved sucessfully and complete.   • if the file changes send email about diff

    I have 2 script. Script "A", Script "B". Script A is regulary watching the dhcpacks [dhcp release is configured to 2mins] in the logs, for the past 2 minutes. It writes the MAC addresses to a file [/dev/shm/dhcpacks-in-last-2min.txt] every 2 minutes. Ok, this is working, active clients are in this file. Super! Script B: On pastebin I'm trying to create a script, that watches the changes in /dev/shm/dhcpacks-in-last-2min.txt file ( every 1 sec). Ok. But: my watcher script [the pastebined][1] is not working fine - sometime it works, sometime it sends that someoneXY logged out`, but it's not true! Nothing happened, and the problem is not in the Script A. Can someone help me point out, what am I missing? How can I watch a file (in every sec), that contains only MAC addresses, and if someone doesn't get dhcpack in 2 minutes, the file /dev/shm/dhcpacks-in-last-2min.txt changes, and that clients MAC address will be gone from it, and i need to know, who was it [pastebined my script - but somethings wrong with it]. Thank you for any help..I've been pathing my script for days now.. :\

  • 7ZIP - Command Line Compression | Can Never Keep it Simple

    I've been Googleing for a few hours on how to just compress a file inside a directory and I can't find anything. I found how to just compress a folder in general. Now I wish to know how I can compress a folder in a folder with a file. Current code: 7zG.exe a -tzip "test.zip" dontcompressme/compressme/new.txt pause As you can see above, I don't want to compress the first folder, but only the second and what ever is within that folder. I have the 7zG.exe sitting in the main folder and I have some files that are three folders in, but I don't know how to only compress those. Here is my directory list: Folder One (don't compress) Folder Two (don't compress) Folder Three (okay to compress) Document One.txt (okay to compress) Document Two.txt (okay to compress) Index.html (okay to compress) Does anyone know how I can do this in the most simplest way ever invented by man? Cause whenever I go to a website using Google it goes throw all these methods on how to compress a folder, but not do it the way I wish it to do. It makes me kinda upset cause I can't get a simple and straight forward answer. Thank you if you answer my question.

  • Send command through PuTTY automatic login

    I am using the following to login automatically to a remote server and then run commands listed in a commands.txt, like this: C:\path to\putty.exe -ssh adreese.ip -l user -pw Password -m C:\Path to\command.txt commands.txt contains the following: wakeonlan -i broadcast adress Macadress However, when I try to do so a new window for PuTTY appears, but it closes and exits instantly after login. As a result, I cannot see the output of the command(s). After a several tests, it appears that the command is not execute , cause my computer doesn't "wake on lan". I don't understand what's going on here ? I cannot use the plink.exe program cause I cannot make connection with public key ( too much distant site for doing all the registration keys in putty ) Can someone help me with this ? Or can i use another program to make ssh connection and send command with script from a windows os? Edit : I also try to make a bash file in the distant server with the same command and execute it from the session like this : C:\path to\putty.exe -ssh adreese.ip -l user -pw Password \home\user\script.sh Ihave the same problem... Need help please : /

    A few days ago my Little Snitch filter starts popping up tftpd. I'd never seen this before, so I immediately start freaking out thinking my Mac has been compromised. I can't find anything unusual on the system. The process usually dies before I can trace it (little snitch never allowed the connection just left the popup up).   • Zabbix doesn't update value from file neither with log[] nor with vfs.file.regexp[] item

    I am using Zabbix 2.2. I have a very specific environment, where I have to generate desired data to file via script, then upload that file to ftp from host and download it to Zabbix server from ftp. After file is downloaded, I check it with log[] and vfs.file.regexp[] items. I use these items as below: log[/path/to/file.txt,"C.*\s([0-9]+\.[0-9])$",Windows-1250,,"all",\1] vfs.file.regexp[/path/to/file.txt,"C.*\s([0-9]+\.[0-9])$",Windows-1250,,,\1] The line I am parsing looks like below: C: 8195Mb 5879Mb 2316Mb 28.2 The value I want to extract is 28.2 at the end of file. The problem I am currently trying to solve is that when I update the file (upload from host to ftp, then download from ftp to Zabbix server), the value does not update. I was trying only log[] at start, but I suspect, that log[] treat the file as real log file and doesn't check the same lines (althought, following the documentation, it should with "all" value), so I added vfs.file.regexp[] item too. The log[] has received a value in past, but it doesn't update. The vfs.file.regexp[] hasn't received any value so far. file.txt has got reuploaded and redownloaded several times and situation doesn't change. It seems that log[] reads only new lines in the file, it doesn't check lines already caught if there are any changes. The zabbix_agentd.log file doesn't report any problem with access to file, nor with regexp construction (it did report "unsupported" for log[] key, when I had something set up wrong). I use debug logging level for agent - I haven't found any interesting info about that problem. I have no idea what I might be doing wrong or what I do not know about how Zabbix is performing these checks. I see 2 solutions for that: adding more lines to the file instead of making new one or making new files and check them with logrt[], but those doesn't satisfy my desires. Any help is greatly appreciated. Of course I will provide additional information, if requested - for now I don't know what else might be useful.

  • Ping results "echo'd" out to a text file on Windows XP machine has unusual character rather than the outcome

    Here is the situation. I have a Windows XP machine that I would like to ping another machine and send the output to a text file for review at a later date. This is quite a standard question with several answers on this website and others. The issue I have is that when reviewing the txt file afterwards, the outcome of the ping appears as a strange character. A screenshot of the text file output can be found at the following link. Please note its the first 8 ping outputs that have a strange character. The %%B was me hoping that would output what I wanted! (Cannot upload image to any hosting websites because the company I work for seems to be afraid of them ....)     I use AWStats in cPanel to see stats of my website. Under Hosts section I see one IP address that has visited 150 pages. I am not sure if one person would have visited 150 pages using a browser. But if these 150 pages have been visited using a software application, then should not it be listed under Robots/Spider section. So how do I determine if I should block a certain IP address that has visited several hundred pages of my website? Thanks

  • Managing 404 error pages with noindex and url rewrite

    Currently I use custom 404 error pages, having the following meta on them : <meta content="noindex" name="robots"> My guess is this way Google will remove deleted pages faster from the index, anyone has experienced a case where it does ? Also, is it better to have the url path rewritten to the actual error page, like the url pattern: http://{mysite}/{404_error_page} or is it best to keep the old deleted page's url when serving a 404 error ?

  • Google webmaster Index Status. Total Indexed=0

    I previously changed my domain from www.visualstudiolearn.blogspot.com to www.visualstudiolearn.com... i had around 300 posts with the previous domain name and most of them where showing up on Google. Now that i have changed my domain name the index status shows total indexed as 0 and when i go to the advanced tab it says 304(not selected) and 217 blocked my robots. Im really depressed because of this situation. could you please help out???

    2 weeks ago, google cant access my website anymore, in webmaster tools i cant fetch any page, i always get error 403, and the website has been completly disapperard form the google search results. I cant figure how suddendly it cant see it anymore, i've checked .htaccess and there nothing that blocks google crawlers, and robots.txt is fine to. Anyway the site is accesibly normaly for users. Anyone had this problems? please help!

    What can I predict when I see in Google Analytics that total visits by search for some day are 93 visits while 70 visits of them have the value 00:00:00 for Avg. Visit Duration? Did those visits made by robots? or How could they regarded as visits while they don't spend any time on the website? Or this is dysfunction of the Google's Analytics script by which it does not able to count the visit time?

  • Best method to do A B testing across to subdomains

    I want to do an A B test of an entire site for a new design and UX with only slight changes in content (a big brand site that has good Google rankings for many generic keywords. My idea of implementation is doing a 302 redirect to the new version (placing it on www1 subdomain) and allowing only user agents of known browsers to pass. The test version will have disallow all in the robots text. Will Google treat this favorably or do I have to use Google Website Optimizer (which will give me tracking headaches)?
