    Hi All, What would be the ultimate web application browser compatibility test machine be? The testing environment would be (XP: IE6,FF3.6), (XP: IE7,Chrome), (XP: IE8,Safari), (MacOsX: Safari, FF3.6, Chrome), (Ubuntu: FF3.6, Chrome) Of course I want it all in one machine, my initial thought was Using a MacOsX as a host machine and use virtual box to install 3 xp and one ubuntu on it. Do you think it is an optimal solution? Do you have any better solution to achieve the above?

  • Asp.Net : IHttpModule + m_context.Server.Transfer = session state error

    I have an IHttpModule that implements IRequiresSessionState. The session state is at "on" on the page directive and I also added it to the web.config. In the method "OnBeginRequest" in the IHttpModule, I make a Server.Transfer but I get the error : Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true, either in a configuration file or in the Page directive. When I access the page directly or with a Response.Redirect, there is no error. Any idea? Update : The error occur in a page extending System.Web.UI.Page in the method InitializeCulture() which is an override.

    What is the best C++ (not C++11) way of joining two enums from autogenerated class similar to one presented below: namespace A { namespace B { ... class CarInfo { enum State { // basically same enums defined in different classes Running, Stopped, Broken } } class BikeInfo { enum State { // basically same enums defined in different classes Running, Stopped, Broken } } } } What is needed is unified enum State for both classes that is seen to outside world alongside with safe type conversion. The best and probably most straightforward way I came up with is to create external enum: enum State { Running, Stopped, Broken } together with conversion functions State stateEnumConv(A::B::CarInfo::State aState); State stateEnumConv(A::B::BikeInfo::State aState); A::B::CarInfo::State stateEnumConv(State aState); A::B::BikeInfo::State stateEnumConv(State aState); Direction into right approach is needed. Gosh coming from C I hate those long namespaces everywhere an I wish it could be only A::B level like in presented example. Four conversion functions seem redundant note that CarInfo::State and BikeInfo::State has same enum "members".

Using StructureMap, how can I inject the dependency on the IMatchRepository and set the initial state? Or is this one of those cases where struggling against the framework is a sign the code should be refactored?

    Good day. I know that in order to save object state in Java I should use serialization. But in every single topic about serialization states that I must save my object somewhere (disk, network). My problem is that I'm not allowed to do so. I need a way to save and recover object state without writing it on "external" memory. Maybe to save it on heap or stack... Please don't offer to clone it, I'm not allowed to do so as well. Thanks.

    Is there a way to pass the current state of a function into another function in C/C++? I mean all the parameters and local variables by current state. For example: void funcA (int a, int b) { char c; int d, e; // Do something with the variables. // ... funcB(); // Do something more. } void funcB() { // funcB() should be able to access variables a,b,c,d & e // and any change in these variables reflect into funcA(). } The code is in bad shape if there is a need for funcB() kind of functions. But can it be achieved? This can help if someone is starting to re-factor a long method with multiple parameters.

  • Android - Opening phone deletes app state

    Hey everyone, I'm writing an android application that maintains a lot of "state" data...some of it I can save in the form of onSaveInstanceState but some of it is just to complex to save in memory. My problem is that sliding the phone open destroys/recreates the app, and I lose all my application state in the process. The same thing happens with the "back" button, but I overloaded that function on my way. Is there any way to overload the phone opening to prevent it from happening? Thanks in advance.

    I'm setting a jQuery cookie for some site javascript effects. I'm setting expiration date to 30 days. On local development machine cookie expiration is set properly, whereas on production expiration is being set to end of session. After inspecting the created cookies with web develoer tools, everything is identical except production machine cookie is marked as "session cookie" and setting expiration is disallowed, while cookie created on local development machine is not set to "session" and expiration date is editable. Is there a way to make production machine cookie accept the expiration date? This is how I set the cookie: $.cookie('skip_animation','skip', 2592000); Using jQuery 1.6.4 (legacy site) All browsers behave the same way

  • Correct Path for Git Remote Add from Amazon EC2 Instance to OSX Client Machine

    I'm trying to do a git remote add from a repository that sits on a remote Amazon AMI back to a cloned copy of the SAME repository that is sitting on my local OSX machine. I'm confused about what file path to use. I assume it's something like: git remote add my_clone <OSX_User_Name>@<OSX_HOST_NAME>:<PATH_TO_CLONED_REPO> I obviously know what my <OSX_User_Name> is, and I can figure out my <PATH_TO_CLONED_REPO>, but I have no idea how to determine a <OSX_HOST_NAME> that would actually work. Can I just put in my external IP address, followed by my machine's internal IP address? (Note that I'm working behind a router.) Is ssh:// the correct protocol? Do I need to set up ssh access from the Amazon EC2 machine to the local OSX machine?

    I need a library that includes all countries and respective codes in 1 array and a second multidimensional array for country to its states and a last array for state code to state name. I found tons of matches for similar requests but none actually have a simple CSV or XML with just that. My goal is to build an address form where you select your country and it then pre-populates the state dropdown - if the country has states - with the country's states. Shouldn't be so hard to find, but I guess i'm blind. Thanks so much for all help!

  • cannot connect to my nginx server from remote machine

    I thought that it's iptables problem.. but it seems not. I really have no idea about this situation. I'm getting a server hosting(CentOS). I installed Nginx + Django and nginx uses 8080 port. A domain is connected to the server. When I executed "wget [domain]:8080/[app name]/" in the server, it worked. Of course, "wget 127.0.0.1:8080/[app name]/" has no problem. (wget [server ip]:8080/[app name]/, either) However, from other computers, connecting was failed. (message says, no route) I checked my firewall setting. I excuted these commands. iptables -I INPUT -p tcp --dport 8080 -j ACCEPT iptables -I OUTPUT -p tcp --sport 8080 -j ACCEPT iptables -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state --state NEW -m tcp -p tcp --dport 8080 -j ACCEPT /etc/init.d/iptables restart I don't really understand all options of commands and I think there were useless commands, but I just tried all googled iptables settings. But still I cannot connect to my server. What should I check, first? I don't know this is important, but add to this post. On 80 port, an apache server is running. It works fine, I can connect to apache from other computers. There is DB connecting issue, (PHP to MySQL) but I think that it is just PHP coding bug. please excuse my low-level English. I'm not native English speaker.. but I tried to explane well as far as possible. Thank you for reading this question.

  • Identify machine (relatively) uniquely using unc path

    Using C#, and given that the user enters in a unc path. Is there a way to verify that 2 months down the line, when I'm writing a file to the unc path, that it is the same machine as when he entered it? i.e. I'm writing some sensitive information to the path, and want to stop someone from putting another machine on the network with the same name / share etc and grabbing the output. Or if the software is running on a laptop and the user plugs it into another network, and there just happens to be a machine with the same name / share... Any ideas, other than using the IP address (and verifying that its the same?). I don't necessarily have any rights on the remote machine other than write access to the unc share. Yes, I'm probably being paranoid, but would like to know if anything is possible...

  • How to remember last state with Jquery?

    I have a menu with submenus that can be toggled (hide/show type deal). Is there a relatively easy way to remember last state of the menu? (I hide/show submenu when clicking on a header and change a style of the header so the background arrow will change (up/down)). It works fine, but I'd like it to remember last state, so when user goes to another page on the site and gets back, the menu shows the same way as user left it. I'm not really good with cookies so any help will be appreciated. Yeah, menu is generated dynamically from the db using PHP. There are now only 2 headers with submenus, but there will be more so I'd need some method that's "scalable" for any number of submenus.   • Apache SSO through Kerberos using Machine Account

    I'm attempting to get Apache on Ubuntu 12.04 to authenticate users via Kerberos SSO to a Windows 2008 Active Directory server. Here are a few things that make my situation different: I don't have administrative access to the Windows Server (nor will I ever have access). I also cannot have any changes to the server made on my behalf. I've joined Ubuntu server to the Active Directory using PBIS open. Users can log into the Ubuntu server using their AD credentials. kinit also works fine for each user. Since I can't change AD (except for adding new machines and SPNs), I cannot add a service account for Apache on Ubuntu. Since I can't add I service account, I have to use the machine keytab (/etc/krb5.keytab), or at least use the machine password in another keytab. Right now I'm using the machine keytab and giving Apache readonly access (bad idea, I know). I've already added the SPN using net ads keytab add HTTP -U Since I'm using Ubuntu 12.04, the only encoding types that get added during "net ads keytab add" are arcfour-hmac, des-cbc-crc, and des-cbc-md5. PBIS adds the AES encoding types to the host and cifs principals when it joins the domain, but I have yet to get "net ads keytab add" to do this. ktpass and setspn are out of the question because of #1 above. I've configured (for Kerberos SSO) and tested both IE 8 Firefox.     I have developed a asp.net application on my VMWare virtual machine that I can access (on my VM) by going to http://localhost:1044 How can I access this from safari on my Mac that is running the VM? I tried running ipconfig on my VM and then using the IP address that was given for "Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection", something like this: http://192.168.179.139:1044/ but this throws a not found error. I am currently using NAT. How can I get to localhost on my VM from my mac?
