  • What is the most reliable way to copy access front end files to client PCs

    I have several in house databases which have access 2003 front ends, either adp or ade files. I need to copy these from my server to every client machine. In the past I have used a rollout scripts to copy the files to the all users desktop folder. I have since adapted this to also copy files to the public desktop folder since we started having windows 7 client machines as well as XP. The problem is that some of the time these scripts don't work for windows 7. Is there a better way of copying these files to a mix of windows 7 and XP clients or is using rollout scripts the best way?

  • SonicWALL NetExtender - Client Install?

    We are about to push out a new VPN solution for our organization. One of the beautiful things we saw in SonicWALL's SSL-VPN was the thin, browser-based solution of NetExtender. Does anybody have experience with this? My specific concern is that, at least in Windows 7 during testing, it prompts for admin credentials to install the ActiveX NetExtender plugin, which is standard for installing anything in a Windows domain environment. But doesn't this mean I actually have to go in and install the client on all domain laptops that will be using the VPN in the field? They wouldn't actually be able to simply visit the site and run the client, as advertised? By the way, we're using the SonicWALL NSA 3500 device. We do have ManageEngine's Desktop Central, which can push out software installations, but it usually has to be in the form of a .MSI package. Is there any solution to this, besides hitting up all my organization's computers?

  • Logging the client IP with Nginx/Varnish/Apache

    I have Nginx listening on port 443 as an SSL terminator, and proxying unencrypted traffic to Varnish on the same server. Varnish 3 is handling this traffic, and traffic coming in directly on port 80. All traffic is passed, unencrypted, to Apache instances on other servers in the cluster. The Apache instances use mod_rpaf to replace the logged client IP with the contents of the X-Forwarded-For header. My problem is that if the traffic is coming via Nginx, while the 'correct' client IP is getting logged in the VarnishNCSA logs, it looks as if Varnish is (understandably) replacing Nginx's X-Forwarded-For header with 127.0.0.1 downstream, and this is getting logged with Apache. Is there a nice simple way to stop Varnish rewriting X-Forwarded-For if it's already populated?

  • vmware host stuck after adding a virtual drive to client

    I use ESXi 5.0 I created a virtual (400GB) drive (located on an iSCSI mapped drive), and tried to add it to a specific client on the host. The task has stopped at 11%. After over an hour, it seems that everything is pretty stuck. Looking at the datastore - it says that 400GB are allocated, but I don't see the new drive with the client. How can I check if the process is still working? or should I restart the host and pray for good?

  • Connecting a Windows 7 client to local Mac OS X server

    I was previously able to connect a Windows 7 client to the local Mac OS X server without any issues. Then due to internet connection issues, the router had to be reset. Since then the Windows 7 client has not been able to properly connect to the locacl Mac OS X server. Within Windows Explorer and the Network and Sharing Center, the server shows up in the Network lists, but does not show any folders or files when I click to connect. There are no error messages appearing either. Any ideas what I can do to resolve this?

    I looking for the best solution to log all connecting client's ip to either a text file or a database who logs into my VPN server. Under the IP I mean the public WAN IP on the internet where they are connecting from. A hack could definitely be to make the openvpn server log to a separate logfile and run logtail periodically to extract the necessary information. So the database I want to build would look like: Client_Name | Client_IP | Connection_date roadwarr1 | 72.84.99.11 | 03/04/14 - 22:44:00 Sat Please don't recommend me to use the commercial Openvpn Access Server. That's not a real solution here. If the disconnection date could be determined that would be even better so I could see how long a client was connected and from where! Thank you

  • Soap client call has slow performance

    OS is Centos 6.2 with PHP 5.3.15. We have a Facebook application that is using PHP soap web services. We sometimes experince slow preformance when connecting to these services, but we cant understand what exacly is causing the problem. We've try to analyse the behavior using the profiling tool Kcachgrind. Here is a call graph from the index.php page that took 21 seconds to load. You can clearly see that calling the soap client is the bottle neck. I've also noticed that exactly before the page finishes to load, this file is being created in our serve's /tmp folder: wsdl-apache-d1032d85dfd16c0d91a6b70facc70e43 These are the permission of /tmp drwxrwxrwt 6 root root 40960 Aug 30 10:39 tmp I know its not the most specific question, but if any one had similar performance issues with soap client, We would love some ideas about what can cause this kind of performance problem, what can we do to investigate more accurately or how to overcome the problem ?     I'm trying to implement a ping to an xmlrpc server written in PHP under CodeIgniter. The system currently works as expected when receiving pings from WordPress-based blogs, but I'm unable to generate a successful ping from Rails.     I have a large SSRS 2008 Server Report Project (more than 200 reports). Currently my companystrategy has been changed and we want to convert these server reports to client reports. All of the Server reports uses Storeprocedures (or in some cases from the SQl Functions) All of them work properly andthere is no problem Beause of project scale it is not a good idea to create all of server reports in client again. SO I want to check How to convert SSRS 2008 Server reports to SSRS 2008 Client Reports? RDL to RDLC. Note : I knowthat Client reports use Dataset And I have to create Dataset. I'm also looking for a way to generate these dataset too.but for now I'm just looking for a way to convert RDL files to RDLC files.     Hi guys, I have a freelance job for a php site. The client isn't a tech savy guy he says he would like to have internet radio on his website as well. Now the thing is that when we speak of internet radio what are we actually talking about? My client himself has no idea of what internet radio is aside form listening to streaming mp3s on a flash player embedded on a website. I don't think my client would be ready to set up a radio station or so.. I have to give my client a report on what can and cannot be done. So I'm looking for the simplest solution possible that would pass off as internet radio...

    Hi there, I've got a 32 bit application that connects normally to a DB2 database. (written in C) When I run it on a machine with a DB2 64 bit client, I get a SQLCODE -1390 from connect. (Win7 64 Bit, DB2 V9.7 client 64 bit) Connecting from the command line works (db2 connect to ...) With a 32 Bit DB2 client on the same Win7 64 Bit machine, the connect also works.     Hi all, I'm having a problem with a WCF Service and Java Client, I will try to give as much information as i can, thanks for your time. The Endpoint of the server is BasicHttpBinding, I tried hosting the server as a Windows Service and in IIS but nothing changed. The weird thing is that the Client works great if I use a simple class, in the moment I switch the class to an JApplet I get the problem mentioned. I'm using Eclipse as an IDE, I tried Axis and Metro to generate the stub with the same bad results. I Also tried to call this from a Silverlight client and I was getting a security exception, this is where I found out about clientaccesspolicy.xml and crossdomain.xml, I added clientaccesspolicy.xml to the service and the Silverlight Client works great, so I decided to try crossdomain.xml and nothing, the Applet still does not work.   • SSL certificates: No Client certificate key exhange

    I am trying to access a WCF web service, that is using two way SSL encryption. When I try to call the service I get a System.ServiceModel.Security.SecurityNegotiationException: Could not establish secure channel for SSL/TLS with authority 'XXX.xx'. --- System.Net.WebException: The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel. I have tried activating wire shark, to see what is sent to and from the server: I see a client hello and a server hello. But there is no client response to the server hello. I was expecting a "Certificate. Client key exchange. Change cipher. Encrypted handshake Message" package, but none is sent. I'm thinking it is a problem with the certificate sent by the server, that somehow my client server does not trusy it. Here is what I have already tried: I have created the certificate, through the proper authority, though I could have made a mistake in the certificate request without knowing it. I have added the two root certificates to: trusted root certificates, trusted publishers and trusted people. I have also added the client certificate to trusted people. My colleague has succeded in establishing connection on a win 2008 server (i'm using a 2003, because it is necessary for some odd reason - don't ask). I can't see any differences in our approach, so i'm a bit lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have downloaded & installed the OPCDA.NET client component evaluation & XMLDA.NET client component evaluation. It provides some C# samples for browsing the available OPC Server, connecting to the OPC server, & browsing the available items on the server. I know the programatic way in which we can access the local OPC server. It is provided in the sample C# applications. I have installed the OPC server on another machine ( remote machine ). I have done all the required setting related to the 'dcomcnfg' utility. I can access the remote OPC server from client machine by using the Test Client provided by the OPCDA.NET client component evaluation & XMLDA.NET client component evaluation. But I am unaware of how this can be done programmatically. In the available C# samples I found no such programatic part (coding ) in which we can access the remote OPC server. Can you provide me the code through which I can browse the available remote machines in my network, available OPC server on each machine after selecting the specific machine name, connecting to the OPC server & browsing the available items on the server ? or Can you provide me the any link through which I can resolve the above issue ?

  • WCF - calling back to client (duplex ?)

    Hi, I have a problem with what solution to choose.. I have a server running having a Service running that can receive orders from a website. To this server several client (remote computers) are connected somehow. I would really like to use WCF for all comunication, but not sure it's possible. I dont wanna configure all client firewall settings in their routers, so the clients would have to connect to the server. But when an order is recieved on the server, it should be transferred to a specific client. One solution could be to have the Client connect using a duplex binding, but it will have to somehow keep the connection alive in order to be able to received data from server... Is this a good way to do this ?? Normally the connection times out and probably for a good reason... Anyone have insight to this problem. Thx alot for any advise :-) Best Regards Søren Müller

    Hi, I write a little Chat Application. To save some infos like Username and Password I store the Data in an SQL-Compact 3.5 SP1 Database. Everything working fine, but If another (the same .exe on the same machine) Client want to access the Service. It came an EndpointNotFound exception, from the ServiceReference.Class.Open() at the Second Client. So i remove the CE Data Access Code and I get no Error (with an if (false)) Where is the Problem?     Hi, I'm trying to build a web service and a client for this service. I'm using Eclipse 3.5.1 with axis2-1.4.1. I'm facing a problem: I created the web service via the web service wizard and the service shows up in the axis service list. If I porint to the wsdl - its generated. Now when I'm trying to build the client, I choose the wsdl, the client project and take the next button, well at the client web service configuration everything is empty. There is nor service name, no port name. Am I facing a bug? Anyoneelse faced something like this? Regards

  • Best practices for managing limited client licenses/login

    I have a multi-user software solution (containing different applications, i.e. EXEs) that should allow only a limited number of concurrent users. It's designed to run in an intranet. I dont have a really good, satisfactory solution to the problem of counting the client licenses yet. The key requirements are: Multiple instances (starts) of the same application (= process) should count as only one client licence Starting different applications of the software solution should also count as only one (the same) client licence Application crash should not lead to orphaned used licences The above should work also for Terminal Server environments (all clients same IP, but different install folders) I'm looking for estabilished patterns, solutions, tips for managing used client licenses. Specific hints for the above sitaution are also welcome.
