  • Searching for duplicate records within a text file where the duplicate is determined by only two fie

    First, Python Newbie; be patient/kind. Next, once a month I receive a large text file (think 7 Million records) to test for duplicate values. This is catalog information. I get 7 fields, but the two I'm interested in are a supplier code and a full orderable part number. To determine if the record is dupliacted, I compress all special characters from the part number (except . and #) and create a compressed part number. The test for duplicates becomes the supplier code and compressed part number combination. This part is fairly straight forward. Currently, I am just copying the original file with 2 new columns (compressed part and duplicate indicator). If the part is a duplicate, I put a "YES" in the last field. Now that this is done, I want to be able to go back (or better yet, at the same time) to get the previous record where there was a supplier code/compressed part number match. Right now, when I get my results, I import the results into Access and do a self join to locate the duplicates. Loading/querying/exporting results in Access a file this size takes around an hour, so I would like to be able to export the matched duplicates to another text file or an Excel file.   • web deploy causing bad image exception

    I have an asp.net web application that uses an unmanaged 32 bit dll that I have successfully running on my development machine, but when I use web deploy to move the code to our test server, I start seeing BadImageFormat exceptions. I set the target in visual web developer to x86 and both machines are running 64 bit os's (windows 7 and windows server 2008 r2). I'm not sure what other differences there could be causing the problem. Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • Unit tests and fixtures

Currently when our tests run it pulls from these pages live but this can take ages to run sometimes, and it also feels like the tests should be testing more of our code - not just relying on them being up and responding (if that makes sense..). Is it better practice to save a valid api response and with the unit tests load this in during setup? Thoughts?

    Hi, I'd like to display some language specific characters from javascript but I can't. My app is a Java webapp and the front end is jQuery. All the characters that are sended from the server - in a JSP or with AJAX - are displayed properly. When I want to display some text hardcoded in to the javascript file it's broken. I'm using Eclipse. However when I deploy to my test machine - Windows Server 2003, It seems to work on 24 files and then the application stops. Procmon shows that its working on 24 files and then there is no data. But where does it save the compiled code, is it saved in the object file from which used the template function in the first place? For example, main.cpp is calling a template function from the file test.h, the compiler generates an object file main.o, Is the template function inside the main.o file? because template code is not inlined, is it?

    If you had two databases, that had two tables between them that would normally implement a one to one (or many to many) constraint but cannot since they are separate databases, how would you validate this relationship in an application or test?
