  • Using Entity Framework V4 - Mapping Stored Procedures with XML output

    I have been attempting to implement the Entity framework into my project and unfortunately it seems like mapping an XML result set from SQL is not something that is supported. I also have issues with returning multiple result sets, though I understand that the EFExtensions was created to try to mitigate that issue. Is there a way to take a FOR XML EXPLICIT result from a SQL Stored Procedure and map it using the Entity Framework?

  • Get information from a higher class?

    I don't know really how to word the question so please bear with me... I have 3 classes: Server, Database, and Table. Each class has a "Name" property. How I want it to work is that each server can have multiple databases and each database can have multiple tables. So in the Server class I have this property. Private _databases As List(Of Database) Public Property Databases() As List(Of Database) Get Return _databases End Get Set(ByVal value As List(Of Database)) _databases = value End Set End Property And I have something similar in the Database class for the tables. This works fine now because I can do something like this to get all the databases in the server. For Each db In s.Databases 's being the server object Debug.Print(db.Name) Next I would like to expand these classes. I want the server class to handle all the connection information and I would like the other classes to use the server class's connection information in them. For example, I setup a server class and set the connection string to the server. Then I want the database class to use serverclass.connectionstring property to connect to the server and get a list of all the databases. But I want to keep that code in the database class. How can I do this? I've attached some code of what I want to do. C++ is a great general-purpose language, but perhaps too general and feature-rich: multiple inheritance, operator overloading, manual memory management, templates, smart pointers, virtual destructors, legacy frameworks (think MFC), and I could go on.   • How do I declare a constructor for an 'object' class type in Scala? I.e., a one time operation for the singleton.

    I know that objects are treated pretty much like singletons in scala. However, I have been unable to find an elegant way to specify default behavior on initial instantiation. I can accomplish this by just putting code into the body of the object declaration but this seems overly hacky. Using an apply doesn't really work because it can be called multiple times and doesn't really make sense for this use case. Any ideas on how to do this?

  • Doctrine 1.2: Can a model have two instances of the sluggabl behavior?

    I dont see any direct mention on using multiple slugs (or any behavior for that matter) for single model. Is there a way to use the sluggable behavior to generate two separate slugs for a model? For example i need to generate two slugs for every record a product_id consisting of a slugified company name and sku and a distributor_id consisting of a different slugified company name. Obviously i could write this myself fairly easily, im just wondering if this can be done quickly with Sluggable.

I am trying to map the frame number to the time, but ffmpeg overwrites the output on the same line. frame= 638 fps=160 q=0.0 Lsize= -0kB time=26.61 bitrate= -0.0kbits/s Or is there a quicker way to get the time on the video timeline given the frame number?

    Simplified table structure (the tables can't be merged at this time): TableA: dts_received (datetime) dts_completed (datetime) task_a (varchar) TableB: dts_started (datetime) task_b (varchar) What I would like to do is determine how long a task took to complete. The join parameter would be something like ON task_a = task_b AND dts_completed < dts_started The issue is that there may be multiple date-times that occur after the dts_completed. How do I create a join that only returns the first tableB-datetime that occurs after the tableA-datetime?

    I understand why data need to be aligned (and all the efforts made to accomplish it like padding) so we can reduce the number of memory accesses but this assumes that processor just can fetch addresses multiples of 4(supposing we are using a 32-bit architecture). And because of that assumption we need to align memory and my question is why we can just access addresses multiple of 4(efficiency, hardware restriction, another one)? Which is the advantages of doing this? Why cannot we access all the addresses available? hugs
