• Entity Framework - Why does EF use LEFT OUTER JOIN's in a 1-to-1 join?

  Why does .NET Entity Framework produce SQL that uses a subquery and left outer join on a simple 1-to-1 relationship? I expected to see a simple join on the two tables. I'm using Devart Dotconnect for Oracle. Any ideas? Below is the output I see courtesy of the EFTracingProvider: SELECT 1 AS C1, "Join1".USER_ID1 AS USER_ID, ...   i wrote this tiny code on gedit and ran it :- #/usr/bin/perl print "Enter the radius of circle: \n"; $radius = <>; chomp $radius; print "radius is: $radius\n"; $circumference = (2*3.141592654) * $radius; print "Circumference of circle with radius : $radius = $circumference\n"; Runs fine using command line.Ran the same code on Komodo Edit: facing an issue i expect first line as output as :- Enter the radius of circle: whearas it waits on the screen i.e waiting for an input and after that runs everything in sequence -- can someone tell me why it runs fine with command line but not Komodo?

• Compressing assets post-update with Subversion

  I'm trying to find a way to compress specific assets post-update on a Production server. So far, I can't find any way to do this that's even remotely simple. Anyone has any insights/experience in doing this? Basically, what I need to do is run a Java utility to compress CSS and JS files - the problem with JS files is that they may or might not validate (JS errors), if it doesn't validate the Java utility will throw output a message. This makes the whole idea a bit more complicated.

  I have a JSONP WCF service,using back end as MySql.It is working properly when i run it locally with visual studio. Now we have hosted it in Windows Server 2003. Now there is very strange problem occurring.. When I do a request with fiddler which does not require much processing internally, it gives me result 200 OK with desired output as response, But when I do a request which requires some internal data processing, it gives me 504 error(gateway time out error).   Given a directed graph, the goal is to combine the node with the nodes it is pointing to and come up with minimum number of these [lets give the name] super nodes. The catch is once you combine the nodes you can't use those nodes again. [first node as well as all the combined nodes - that is all the members of one super node] The greedy approach would be to pick the node with maximum out degree and combine that node with nodes it is pointing to and remove all of them. Do this every time with the nodes which are not removed yet from graph. The greedy is O(V), but this won't necessarily output minimum number super nodes. So what is the best algorithm to do this?

• In windbg, how do I get a heap header address from !heap -l results?

  I am playing around with windbg's !heap command, particular the "-l" switch which detects memory leaks. When -l does detect a leak, I am having problems navigating from its results to a stack trace for the source of the leak. But the output for !heap -l doesn't specify a header address! It's only specififying Entry, User, Heap, and Segment. I've racked my brain looking over the other commands but can't figure out how to get the header address from any of these fields. Can someone help?

• Entity Framework - Why does EF use LEFT OUTER JOIN's in a 1-to-1 relationship?

  Why does .NET Entity Framework produce SQL that uses a subquery and left outer join on a simple 1-to-1 relationship? I expected to see a simple join on the two tables. • Getting Cabal to work with GHC 6.12.1

  I've installed the latest GHC package (6.12.1) on OS X, but I can't get Cabal to work. I've removed the version I had previously that worked with GHC 6.10 and tried to re-install from scratch. The latest Cabal version available for download is 1.6.0.2. However, when I try to build this I get the following error: Configuring Cabal-1.6.0.2... Setup: failed to parse output of 'ghc-pkg dump' From what I've found searching, this seems to suggest that the version of Cabal is too old for the version of GHC. Is there any way to get Cabal to work with GHC 6.12.1 yet? EDIT: To be clear, I'm trying to set-up cabal-install.

• Why does Opera parse my web page as XML?

  I just tried viewing my website http://www.logmytime.de/ in Opera (version 10.50) for the first time and for some reason it gives me an "xml parsing failed error" and refuses to display the web page. I can choose to "Reparse the document as HTML" and then the page works fine, but that's hardly a solution to my problem. The weird thing is that the error still occurs after setting a HTML (instead of XTHML) doctype: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> I checked the source output from the browser to make sure I did not make any mistake. I even viewed the same web page in Firebug and it shows a Content-Type of text/html; . So, why does Opera still try to parse my web page as XML? Thanks, Adrian

• Works using Django development server, but throws import error with Apache using mod_wsgi

  I have a Django project that works fine with the development server that comes with it. No errors are produced at all when I use "django manage.py runserver" and the app works fine, but when I try to use it with mod_wsgi and Apache the browser displays "Internal Server Error" with a 500 error code and it generates an import error in the Apache error log. Here's the error in the log: ImportError: No module named registration I'm using the Django registration module which is located in a path like this: /opt/raj/photos/registration I know that the registration app is in the path because I can fire up a Python shell, import sys, and get a list of paths using sys.path. Here are some of the paths output from Python shell: sys.path ['', '/opt/raj/pyamf', '/opt/raj', '/opt/raj/pictures', '/opt/raj/pictures /registration', '/usr/lib/python2.6',....] Any thoughts would be appreciated.

  Im developing desktop java application using maven. I got a *.properties file that I need to retrive during execution (src/resources/application.properties). The only thing comes to my mind is to use: private Properties applicationProperties; applicationProperties.load(new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream("src/resources/application.properties"))); This would work if I run my application directly from IDE. I want to to keep outpout hierarchy clear, so I set maven to copy resources folder dircetly to target folder (which is a basedir for the output application). This way application.properties file won't load (since I have target/resources/application.properties but not target/src/resources/application.properties). What is the best way to manage resources so they work both when I debug from IDE and run builded jar file directly?

• How to export more than 1MB in XML format using sqlcmd and without an input file?

  Hello, In SQL Server 2008, I want to export the result of a stored procedure to a file using sqlcmd utility. Now the end of my stored procedure is a select statement with a "for xml path.." clause at the end. I read on BOL that if I don't want my output truncated when reaching 1MB file size, I have to use this :XML ON command, but it should be placed on its own line, before calling the stored procedure. Does any of you experts know if it is possible to do that without specifying an input file for sqlcmd? (I'm calling sqlcmd like this: exec master..xp_cmdshell 'sqlcmd -Q"exec storedProcedureName @param1=value1, @param2=value2" -o c:\exportResults.xml -h-1 -E', but "storedProcedureName" and its parameters can change, which would mean 1 input file per passed parameters to sqlcmd) Also, it seems that I can't use bcp instead of sqlcmd because my stored procedure is creating a temporary table and performing DML statements on it? • Recommended Visual Studio config for referencing an assembly created with ILMerge

  I have a solution in Visual Studio with 5 projects. They are: Foo.Core: Core functionality Foo.Api: Generated code built on top of core Foo.Web: Web-specific extensions Foo.Web.Mvc: MVC-specific extensions Newtonsoft.Json: 3rd party library I want to use ILMerge to merge Foo.Core, Foo.Api and Newtonsoft.Json into a single assembly, called Foo. That's the easy part. The problem I'm running into is that Foo.Web and Foo.Web.Mvc both need to reference all three of the merged assemblies. If I reference the original assemblies, they will have invalid references after I do the ILMerge. If I reference the ILMerged assembly, I have to reference a debug assembly and then change it before I package everything up, which doesn't seem ideal. I've tried creating a project called Foo, which references the 3 merged assemblies and replaces its own output with the ILmerged assembly, but that doesn't seem to work at all. Is there a reliable way to do this?

So, the final output should be : DetailDollars node1 100 /node1 node2 25 /node2 node3 10 /node3 node4 4 /node4 DetailDollars I wrote a custom converter and registered to my xstream object. public void marshal(..){ writer.startNode("node4"); writer.setValue(getNode1()/ getnode2() ); writer.endNode(); } But, the xml stream I get has only the new node: DetailDollars node4 4 /node4 /DetailDollars I am not sure which xstream api would get me the desired format. could you please help me with this .
