• How can I change the color of build output in a shell window?

  I have a build process which runs from a batch file. It produces a large volume of text. Sometimes it prints the word "Error" or "Warning" followed by a message. The errors and warnings are getting lost among a sea of text. Can I highlight those words in a different color, maybe in a dos window, or a cygwin shell window, possibly by piping them through some string manipulation program before posting them to the screen?   Hey, I'm trying to write a program in C# that will track the pressing of certain keys (using a keyboard hook), and send different ones instead. For instance, when I press the A key it will instead send the Q key. I used http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cs/CSLLKeyboardHook.aspx this for my hooks and tried to use the SendKeys function, but I get an exception about the garbage collector destroying some object inside the hook class.

  For some reason I can't seem to get the MySQL Net Connector to work with C# outside of the IDE. I have a very simple program working just fine in the IDE (connecting to the database and everything) but when I publish the code and run the .application file (on my local computers desktop or off the company server) it says it can't connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts. • What does it mean when a ByteInputStream keeps returning 0?

  I have a ByteInputStream, created from a Socket in Java. The connection is to a simple web server that uses chunked transfer encoding. The web server does in fact work in normal browser. But in my program, I am attempting to read, I read the first first bytes (some 5kb of data). But each read after that returns 0 bytes read. Isn't it supposed to block until it can read?

• C converts HEX value from emacs into the incorrect value

  in a file, i have used m-x ucs-insert to insert a hex character 9e (which in emacs shows up as \236). however, when this is read in by the C program, 9e is becoming 0x9ec2. Where is this c2 coming from and how do i get rid of it??
