• Center label instance inside VGroup in Flex

  Hi all I am trying to center my labels below my image inside my VGroup. The labels are align to left now and it seems like HorizontalAlign is not working on spark component. Anyone knows how to fix it? • Python: Serial Transmission

  I have an image stack of 500 images (jpeg) of 640x480. I intend to make 500 pixels (1st pixels of all images) as a list and then send that via COM1 to FPGA where I do my further processing. I have a couple of questions here: How do I import all the 500 images at a time into python and how do i store it? How do I send the 500 pixel list via COM1 to FPGA? I tried the following: Converted the jpeg image to intensity values (each pixel is denoted by a number between 0 and 255) in MATLAB, saved the intensity values in a text file, read that file using readlines(). But it became too cumbersome to make the intensity value files for all the 500 images! Used NumPy to put the read files in a matrix and then pick the first pixel of all images. But when I send it, its coming like: [56, 61, 78, ... ,71, 91]. Is there a way to eliminate the [ ] and , while sending the data serially? Thanks in Advance! :)

I am fairly new to XML files, so what I am after may be quite obvious but I just cant find what I am looking for on the net.   Hello. I am working on a Silverlight/WCF application and of course have numerous async calls throughout the Silverlight program. I was wondering on how is the best way to handle the creation of the client classes and subscribing. • Binding for MinWidth property does not work in Silverlight

  I have noticed something very unusual today, I need to bind "MinWidth" property of TextBlock to some value, however following example does not work. It only accepts MinWidth at a time of creation, but after that it is not affected at all if LeftWidth property is changed at runtime, however if I bind LeftWidth property to WidthProperty it works well. Binding b = new Binding("LeftWidth"); // following never changes layout of control tb.SetBinding(TextBlock.MinWidthProperty,b); However, this one works correctly, // following never changes layout of control tb.SetBinding(TextBlock.WidthProperty,b); Now I also did hook events and tried to do InvalidateMeasure and InvalidateArrange on TextBlock, but it has no effect. Seems like Changing MinWidth Property after layout pass does not work at all. Can it be a bug in Silverlight? or Does anyone have any idea at all why MinWidth does not redo the layout?

  Hi All, Big picture: I want to render an RGB image via GTK on a linux box. I'm a frustrated GTK newbie, so please forgive me. I assume that I should create a Drawable_area in which to render the image -- correct? Do I then have to create a graphics context attached to that area?   Hi there! So I'm making something for which users need to upload images from a canvas element (on the front end) using Wordpress's in-built Media Upload API. So the question is: How can I pass the image data from HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA to it? Could I make the $_FILES['tmp-name'] point to it somehow? Could I use another script as an intermediate step somehow? I do not want to be the default handler for .jpg, I would just like to extend the "Open with" menu with a link to my app. I see HKCR\.jpg\OpenWithList\ and HKCR\.jpg\OpenWithProgIds\ in the registry but I am not sure whether to write to these and how to do it correctly with WiX.   I'm trying to display a grid of items, with each item having a photo on the left and a description on the right, something like this: ---------------------------- | photo | item description | ---------------------------- I want to display these items in a 3x3 grid on the page. I have the grid part worked out, what I'm having trouble with is alignment of the photo and description. When the height of the description exceeds the height of the photo, I don't want the text to wrap under the photo. I essentially want to maintain two separate columns. I have tried this: .item{ padding-left: 60px; // size of photo + 5px margin background-position: 5px 0px; } <div class="item" style="background-image: url('/img/photo123.jpg');"> Here is the item description </div> That has worked very well. the markup is clean and I don't have to mess around with absolute/relative, however, now I can't add a border to the image. • WPF - Transparency - Stream Desktop Content

  Greetings I'm in the process of making a Scoreboard for a game (Starcraft II). This scoreboard is being made as a WPF Application with a C# code-behind. I already have a version which works for 90% in WinForms but I lacked the support to easily make it look a lot nicer which are available in WPF. The point of this application will be to form a kind of overlay on top of a running game. This game is in Fulscreen(Windowed Mode) so when in WinForms I coded it so that it should always be on top. It would do so and that was no problem. Since the main look of the app in WPF is based on an image with a transparent background I have set most Background values to Transparent. However when I do this the entire application does not get registered by streaming software. For example it just shows my Desktop or the game I'm playing but not my application even though it IS there. I can see it with my own eyes but the audience on the stream cannot. Does anyone have any experience with this matter because it's really doing my head in. My entire application will be useless if it is not visible on streams. If I have to put the background on a color rather than transparent the UI will be completely demolished as well in terms of looks. I'm basically trying to make a game-overlay in C# & WPF. I have read you can do this on different ways as well but I have little to no knowledge of C++ nor do I know anything about DirectX Thank you for your time reading and your possible insights. Edit: The best solution would be an overlay similar to that one of Steam/Xfire/Dolby Axon. Edit 2: I've had no luck with all the suggestions so I basically made the transparent bits of my image non transparent and let the user decide which one to use depending on what streaming software they would be using.

• Does Msbuild recognise any build configurations other than DEBUG|RELEASE

  I created a configuration named Test via Visual Studio which currently just takes all of DEBUG settings, however I employ compiler conditions to determine some specific actions if the build happens to be TEST|DEBUG|RELEASE. However how can I get my MSBUILD script to detect the TEST configuration?? Currently I build <MSBuild Projects="@(SolutionsToBuild)" Properties="Configuration=$(Configuration);OutDir=$(BuildDir)\Builds\" /> Where @(SolutionsToBuild) is a my solution. In the Common MsBuild Project Properties it states that $(Configuration) is a common property but it always appears blank? Does this mean that it never gets set but is simply reserved for my use or that it can ONLY detect DEBUG|RELEASE. If so what is the point in allowing the creation of different build configurations?

  Hello all, I'm having some problems, and looking for some help. I'm trying to create a photo gallery in javascript, that will be able to 'update' it's self automatically. I need to be able to search a directory, and grab a file with a specific prefix. I need to output the followng HTML code: <li><a href="images/resize_FILENAME.ext"><img src="images/thumb_FILENAME.ext"></a></li> The 'resize_' and 'thumb_' use a timestamp to identify, so they have the same ending, just a different prefix. So, for example, if I search the directory for an image with a prefix of 'resize_', I need to insert that into the a tag, and then remove the '_resize' prefix, and add the '_thumb' prefix for the img tag. I then need to be able to do that for each image in the directory. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, I should add: I'm assuming php would be easiest for this, but if an alternative exists that would work too. I'm also using jQuery if javascript would be better.

• Python: Taking an array and break it into subarrays based on some criteria

  I have an array of files. I'd like to be able to break that array down into one array with multiple subarrays, each subarray contains files that were created on the same day. So right now if the array contains files from March 1 - March 31, I'd like to have an array with 31 subarrays (assuming there is at least 1 file for each day). In the long run, I'm trying to find the file from each day with the latest creation/modification time. If there is a way to bundle that into the iterations that are required above to save some CPU cycles, that would be even more ideal. Then I'd have one flat array with 31 files, one for each day, for the latest file created on each individual day.

• Oracle (PL/SQL): Is UPDATE RETURNING concurrent?

  I'm using table with a counter to ensure unique id's on a child element. I know it is usually better to use a sequence, but I can't use it because I have a lot of counters (a customer can create a couple of buckets and each of them needs to have their own counter, they have to start with 1 (it's a requirement, my customer needs "human readable" keys). I'm creating records (let's call them items) that have a prikey (bucket_id, num = counter). I need to guarantee that the bucket_id / num combination is unique (so using a sequence as prikey won't fix my problem). The creation of rows doesn't happen in pl/sql, so I need to claim the number (btw: it's not against the requirements to have gaps). My solution was: UPDATE bucket SET counter = counter + 1 WHERE id = param_id RETURNING counter INTO num_forprikey; PL/SQL returns var_num_forprikey so the item record can be created. Question: Will I always get unique num_forprikey even if the user concurrently asks for new items in a bucket?

  Hi, I'm using Delphi7 and i need a solution to a big problem.Can someone provide me a faster way for searching through files and folders than using findnext and findfirst? because i also process the data for each file/folder (creation date/author/size/etc) and it takes a lot of time...I've searched a lot under WinApi but probably I haven't see the best function in order to accomplish this. All the examples which I've found made in Delphi are using findfirst and findnext... Also, I don't want to buy components or use some free ones... Thanks in advance!

  Hello everyone, I want to traverse through all the elements of an word document one by one and according to type of element (header, sentence, table,image,textbox, shape, etc.) I want to process that element. I tried to search any enumerator or object which can represent elements of document in office interop API but failed to find any. API offers sentences, paragraphs, shapes collections but doesnt provide generic object which can point to next element. For example : <header of document> <plain text sentences> <table with many rows,columns> <text box> <image> <footer> (Please imagine it as a word document) So, now I want some enumerator which will first give me <header of document>, then on next iteration give me <plain text sentences>, then <table with many rows,columns> and so on. Does anyone knows how we can achieve this? Is it possible? I am using C#, visual studio 2005 and Word 2003. Thanks a lot

• How to make flash movie to scale proportunatly to div width?

  I have put together an example page detailing my problem My website is going to have a main wrapper that is set to a max-width property for compatible browsers. It will stretch to 940px across at max. When scaled down I would like the swf to scale proportionately with it. Like an image with width percent applied. The flash movie has the dimensions of 940 × 360 pixels. I can't seem to figure out the correct attributes to add to the embed tag to get it to do this. I am currently using jquery flash embed, but am open to other options, though this is my ideal. In the example I have set the flash background to black. When resize the browser window the flash movie doesn't scale proportionately to the div, only the photo does, leaving a blank canvas (black), while the div height stays the same. I can't add a height value in the CSS. How do I make this scale correctly? Adding a noscale param only crops the image. The swf's height doesn't scale also. All of my code can be viewed in the linked examples source.
