• How to transfer SQLite db to web server on android phone (android)

  Hello, I have "BackUpContacts.db" database in SQLiteDatabase, it has a table named "ContactInfo" with column names ContactId, ContactName, MobilePhone1, MobilePhone2, OfficePhone1, OfficePhone2, OfficePhone3, HomePhone1, HomePhone2 and TokenId. What i want is to transfer all data of "ContactInfo" table to the mysql database system at some server (means server has also a table similar to "ContactInfo", where all data of "ContactInfo" will be copied). The last important thing which i want is that, whenever i want to get contacts(of a specified TokenId) i can backup all those from server to the mobile device in an xml file. in short, can here anyone help me how to transfer sqlite db to a web server?

• C# - Printing out groupnames, items and subitems in a loop?

  What I'm trying to do, is to store all groupnames, items and subitems from a listview into a string. Take a look at the following screenshot. I'm kind of stuck though, with the loop. I'm pretty sure i can figure out how to actually store it in a variable though. The following code will loop through all of the listview Items: int countGroups = csslistview.Items.Count; foreach (ListViewItem lvi in csslistview.Items){ //code here countGroups++; } But i can't figure out how to loop through all of the Groups. I tried this, but it's not working: int countGroups = csslistview.Groups.Count; foreach (ListViewItem lvi in csslistview.Items){ //code here countGroups++; } I'm trying to echo it out as CSS, if you're wondering. The grouname is the id/class/tag, the item is the rule, and the subitem is the property. So, any ideas?

• Generically creating objects in C#

  What I am trying to do is load in objects from an XML save file. The problem is those objects are configurable by the user at runtime, meaning i had to use reflection to get the names and attributes of those objects stored in an XML file. I am in the middle of a recursive loop through the XML and up to the part where I need to create an object then thought ..... ah - no idea how to do that :( I have an array stuffed with empty objects (m_MenuDataTypes), one of each possible type. My recursive loading function looks like this private void LoadMenuData(XmlNode menuDataNode) { foreach (object menuDataObject in m_MenuDataTypes) { Type menuDataObjectType = menuDataObject.GetType(); if (menuDataObjectType.Name == menuDataNode.Name) { //create object } } } I need to put some code where my comment is but I can't have a big switch statement or anything. The objects in my array can change depending on how the user has configured the app.

• Android: Maps - Best way to provide 'search for location' feature?

  Hello all, I've got an android app that uses a map activity and serves up content based on map location. I'm looking for a way to allow the user to search for a location by name (anything from 'New York' to 'Eiffel Tower') - e.g. have a text input field into which they could type 'Rome' - after pressing a button, the user would be brought to the coordinates of Rome on the map. What would be the best way to go about this? I've looked into the google geocoding api (http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/geocoding/), but it has limitations of 2,500 geolocation requests per day - I'm presuming this is per API key? Or is it per user/source IP? 2,500 requests for one android app woudln't last long. Ideally, I would be able to search for English and foreign names of countries. Thanks in advance! r3mo

• How can I get values from one table to another via similar values?

  I have a table called excel that has 3 columns, name, id, and full_name. The name part is the only one I have and I need to fill id and full_name. The other table that contains the data is called tim_pismena and has 2 columns that I need, id and pismeno_name (the actual names are not important, but i'm writing them just for clarity). In pseudooracle code :) the select that gets me the values from the second table would be done something like this: SELECT tp.id, tp.pismeno_name FROM tim_pismena tp WHERE upper(tp.naziv_pismena) LIKE IN upper('%(SELECT ime as FROM excel)%') and when used with an insert, the end result should be something like name id full_name Happy Joe 55 Very fun place Happy Joe, isn't it?

• Why use of session name and session id in the get variables does not work?

  I have the following code: $location .= 'red=no&'.session_name() . "=". session_id(); $content = file_get_contents($location); echo $content; If I run it, noting is displayed in my browser. However, if I modify it in the following way: $location .= 'red=no'; $content = file_get_contents($location); echo $content; everything works fine (I see the content in my browser). What is also strange, if I display the value of the $location variable from the first example (url) and manually paste it in the address line of my browser, I do see the content. So, my browser is able to use this URL and file_get_contents not. Does anybody know how it can be explained?

  I was seeing today the addslashes and addcslashes in php.net, but did not get the point on what is the difference between them and what are the characters escaped in these two. <?php $originaltext = 'This text does NOT contain \\n a new-line!'; $encoded = addcslashes($originaltext, '\\'); $decoded = stripcslashes($encoded); //$decoded now contains a copy of $originaltext with perfect integrity echo $decoded; //Display the sentence with it's literal \n intact ?> If i comment the $decoded variable and echo $encoded, i get the same value which is in the original string. Can anyone clearly explain me the difference and use of these two.

• Java Null Pointer Exception :-(

  I've got a Null Pointer Exception in my main that just won't go away and I'm totally out of ideas. The error is on the line "Board[x][y].color = 2;" in which Board is a public, static array of piece objects that contain instance variables like the one "color" that is being set to 2 in the above statement. Pieces is not static - that is there are many different copies of pieces, each with its own data, but only one board. The array has been initialized and defined as both public Piece[][] Board = new Piece[8][8] and public static Piece[][] Board = new Piece[8][8], but no matter how I mess around with it (getting rid of static, putting the variable in another object, etc.), I can't seem to get the error to go away. Help?

  I have been searching on how to do this for a very long time, and I have not managed to get a straight answer on the subject, so hopefully one of you StackOverflow users will be able to help me here. I have a WPF ListBox named CategoryList and a SDF database called ProgramsList.sdf (with two tables called CategoryList and ProgramsList). What I wish my program to do is get the category names from the CategoryList table and list them in the ListBox control called CategoryList. Here's the code that I tried, but it only caused my program to crash. Folder structure: Folder1/analysis.m Folder1/meas_dynamic_123.dcm My script (analysis.m) begins as follows: target =''; <== here should go the full path to the file + filename example: /Volumes/Data/Folder1/meas_dynamic_123.m txt = dir(target); // etc So I'm wondering if there is a way of when running analysis.m it will: automatically search the folder it's in, grab the full path + filename of file containing string dynamic in the name, insert its full path + name into target variable continue running the script Does anyone have any pointers on how to achieve this? • MySQL Limiting a query to one consistent value

  My current query returns a table like: +------------+ value1 | .... value1 | .... value2 | .... value3 | .... +------------+ I want: +------------+ value1 | .... value1 | .... +------------+ I want to only receive all rows with the first value. Normally I would do a WHERE clause if I knew that value, and I cannot use a LIMIT because each value has a different number of rows. Right now My query looks like "SELECT u.*, n.something, w.* FROM ... AS u, ... AS n, ... AS w WHERE u.id = n.id AND w.val = n.val AND u.desc LIKE '%GET REQUEST VARIABLE%';" This works great, except I get way too many rows and using PHP to do this ruins code portability and is superfluous.   Hi! I have the following data in a c++ string John Doe 01.01.1970 I need to extract the date and time from it into int variables. I tried it like this: int last_space = text_string.find_last_of(' '); int day = int(text_string.substr(last_space + 1, 2)); But I got invalid cast from type ‘std::basic_string’ to type ‘int’. When I extract the "John Doe" part in another string variable, all works fine. What's wrong? I am trying to compile it with g++ -Wall -Werror.

• Automatically registering "commands" for a command line program in python

  I would like to develop a command-line program that can process and give "help" for subcommands. To be concrete, say I have a single script called "cgent" and I would like to have subcommands "abc", "def", and "xyz" execute and accept the rest of the sys.args for processing by optparse. cgent abc [options] cgent help abc .... All of this is straightforward if I hard-code the subcommand names. However, I would like to be able to continue to add subcommands by adding a class or module (?). This is similar to the idea that is used by web frameworks for adding controllers, for example. I have tried digging through pylons to see if I can recreate what is done there, but I have not unravelled the logic. Any suggestions on how to do this? Thanks, Sean

Which one do you prefer? Any pros and cons for each? What's the best practice for this case? EDIT: Also would there be a performance difference between the two?

  What is a good way to provide an API client with 1,000,000 database results? We are cureently using PostgreSQL. A few suggested methods: Paging using Cursors Paging using random numbers ( Add "GREATER THAN ORDER BY " to each query ) Save information to a file and let the client download it Iterate through results, then POST the data to the client server Return only keys to the client, then let the client request the objects from Cloud files like Amazon S3 (still may require paging just to get the file names ). What haven't I thought of that is stupidly simple and way better than any of these options?
