• LXC container can only access host via bridge

  I have an LXC container with i686 Ubuntu 12.04 running on a x86_64 Ubuntu 12.04 host. I've set up a bridge using instructions here. However the ping from the container only goes through to the host and not to other machines on the local network. Similarly only the host and not the other machines see the container OS. The host's /etc/network/interfaces file looks as follows: auto lo iface lo inet loopback iface eth0 inet manual auto br0 iface br0 inet dhcp bridge_ports eth0 bridge_fd 0 bridge_maxwait 0 The container's /etc/network/interfaces file looks as follows: auto lo iface lo inet loopback auto eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp And here's the relevant part of the container's config: lxc.network.type=veth lxc.network.link=br0 lxc.network.flags=up Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? • Installing Intel Iris Drivers on Parallels 9

  I'm running windows 8.1 on Parallels 9 on Mac OS X 10.9.3 Mavericks. Before that I used to have VMWare and I could manage to install Intel Iris drivers for OpenCL SDK. But Parallels installs tools for virtualization I guess and in device manager I see Parallels Display Adapter (VDDM) instead of Intel Iris Graphics Processor. How can I see the device and be able to install latest Intel drivers so that I can Install Intel OpenCL SDK. Thank you.

• my laptop wireless registers as 169.254.111.111

  I sometimes gets an ip address of 169.254.111.111 received for my laptop (instead of one in the 10.0.0.x range). I thought it was a problem with my Ubuntu system, but after I dual-booted I got the same problem under Windows Vista with the same laptop. What's the problem, why does it happens only sometimes, and how can it be solved? For the record: I'm using a Linksys WRT610N wireless router.

• Man broke, possibly on installing git, how do I fix?

  I always get a remote connection time out when using PuTTy and also when i send emails with attachments from a mail sever installed on Debian. I always get this error. I'm not sure if this is firewall or the new Debian 5 installation which i made. Is there any settings i need to fix after fresh install. Any inputs are highly appreciated. • Best tools for "ssh tail -f" style log file monitoring and analysis

  I'm looking for a tool to monitor custom PHP Error logs/Apache and possibly Java logs on remote development servers. I'm not looking for a full production log system like Splunk, but something that's a little more flexible than an ssh terminal doing a "tail -f". Perhaps something that will: * Monitor multiple log files to my local machine for searching/analysis later * Allow "alerts" when certain strings appear in the log * Provide some kind of tabbed/dashboard view of the multiple logs being monitored (in total less than 10 logs).

  Hi, I'd like to start a service with monit but only when I have the correct ip bound to the host. Can this be done somehow with the normal config? For example I want to start a process xxx with pidfile xxx.pid, but only if host currently has 10.0.0.1 bound to some interface.

(it is already mounting ext4 fs with 4096 bytes of block sizes) According to my readings on ext4 it should allow such big block sized fs. • Apple Quicktime skips during video playback

  Hi, I'm on Windows XP SP3, and I'm running Apple Quicktime v7.6.5. When viewing MPEG-4 videos, every 30 seconds or so, the playback will halt for 5 seconds, and then resume at a point 10 seconds or so into the future. In essence, it is freezing and skipping. Any ideas how to combat this? My laptop is an NEC Versa, with graphics supplied by a mobile Intel 915gm/gms,910gml express chipset family. Cheers.

• iTunes Album Artwork not available in all Sizes

  I used iTunes and everything worked fine until today. When I try to display Large / Medium artwork, not all the artworks are displayed. However, when I try to display the small artworks, everything works. Large (buggy): Small (normal): Is there a way to fix this? Tech Specs: iTunes on Windows 7 x64, v. 10.3.1. All the artworks are stored locally on my hard drive (.jpg files (i added them manually)).

• Windows Server 2008 R2: User account set to not show on login

  Hello There, this is my first Serverfault Question: I found myself this afternoon Setting up a Win Server 2008 R2 system for use with Team foundation source code control, and in order to give team-mates right to connect, i had to create user account for each of them (10 persons) (I can't and I don't want to create a domain). The point is that, after that, all that user accounts are showing in the login screen. Can i set those accounts to not show there? How? Thanks in advance

  Hi I have a fresh install of Crunchbang (basically Ubuntu with Openbox instead of Gnome). In any case, I can't connect to my WPA network - when I click on it in the nm-applet and it asks me to authenticate my only options are: WEP 10/128-bit key WEP 128-bit Passphrase LEAP Dynamic WEP (802.1x) wpa_supplicant is indeed installed, yet WPA does not get listed... any ideas?

• Are there any connection limits on Windows 7 IIS v7.5?

  My current development machine is Windows XP, and I use a modified tcpip.sys to allow me to exceed the 10 connection limit built in to IIS. I know that Vista's IIS has the same limit. Can anyone confirm whether this connection limit is present in Windows 7 IIS as well?

• nginx 502 bad gateway - fastcgi not listening? (Debian 5)

  I have experience with nginx but it's always been pre-installed for me (via VPS.net pre-configured image). I really like what it does for me, and now I'm trying to install it on my own server with apt-get. This is a fairly fresh Debian 5 install. I have few extra packages installed but they're all .deb's, no manual compiling or anything crazy going on. Apache is already installed but I disabled it. I did apt-get install nginx and that worked fine. Changed the config around a bit for my needs, although the same problem I'm about to describe happens even with the default config. It took me a while to figure out that the default debian package for nginx doesn't spawn fastcgi processes automatically. But when I try to view a web page via nginx, I just get a 502 bad gateway error. After futzing around a bit, I tried telneting to 127.0.0.1 9000 (fastcgi is listening on port 9000, and nginx is configured to talk to that port), but it just immediately closes the connection. This makes me think the problem is with fastcgi, but I'm not sure what I can do to test it. It may just be closing the connection because it's not getting fed any data to process, but it closes immediately so that makes me think otherwise. So... any advice? I can't figure it out. It doesn't help that it's 1AM, but I'm going crazy here!

  When I make a software update, the files are downloaded on my MacBook's internal hard disk. How can I set a different hard disk as default? I suppose the files related to the software update are compressed packages that have to be saved, opened and decompressed.
